Hi all,
Currently I am mining with 65 sols but as someone pointed out, is WTM calculator doing it good? If not do you know guys a correct one to better estimates profits?
Thanks!

Whattomine has been inaccurate for a very long time. A month ago, it was reporting double earnings than the real ones. Now it reports closer to reality, but it is still inaccurate.
Estimating earnings is not that simple and it depends on the time period the average is calculated. If this period is for example one day, the estimations' validity depends on the global hashrate, the pool hashrate, the pool luck, the difficulty and the price of the coin in $. As you may guess, if these numbers fluctuate significantly, then the estimations are quite inaccurate.

For example, you may see that the pool estimates that you will earn 5 coins in 24h. If the difficulty and the increases during these 24h, you will get less coins than expected. If the price in dollars drops as well, then you will get even less dollars!

It means that we will get formally introduced to the team of people managing, developing and working for the Zero currency.

Let's say I want to see Estimated earnings of coins per day.
let's say Network diff will not change, then WTM will show the correct Estimated earnings ?

Well diff changes all the time so your question has no practical meaning. Also, remember all the other parameters that also influence the outcome. It is impossible for all of them not to vary.

Even so, the algorithm WTM is using for zero is incorrect, so they overestimate earnings. Even their unit is wrong ( H/s instead of S/s ).

As an alternative, pick a miner that has about the same hashrate as you, and check his estimated earnings. Still inaccurate but just as a means of comparison with your own.

Does WTM have an error in the calculation formula?

Yes, for a long time now.

According to your calculation of what earnings today with a hash of 12 s / s? On average per day / approximately.

About 0.6 zer/day but as I said, it's a very rough estimation.

You insist on the same over and over again. I think I was clear and I already mentioned the limitations of these estimations. You should discuss this further with the pool admin.

We don't charge any Pool fee the entire January.
After that we will have a small fee that pay off our montly server costs, not more.
We don't want to make profit with our Pool, the main Goal is to decentralize Zero more and more, so everyone who hodl Zero Curency will benefit from it (including us).
Check us out: http://zer.cloudhash.eu
Pool Hashrate: ~500 - 600Sol/s
Payout System: PPLNT
FEE: 0% entire January
New Webdesign is in Developement

Best Regards,
Labro

THANK YOU

It's very interesting that suprnova hasn't replied to my post regarding the fee issue...

I would also appreciate an official response from the zero team.

A short time ago, some community members reacted against imposing a 1% fee towards Zero maintenance, development and promotion costs.

Well it looks like suprnova has already imposing a fee behind the miners back! And most miners had no idea!

Wouldn't it far better to introduce an official Zero pool collecting this fee, rather than a dishonest private pool depriving from the zero team this significant source of income that would help the coin flourish?

Oops sorry, this forum is far too "loud" to read every single post, you could just PM me if you have anything important.

I'm sorry I simply forgot to remove the 0 % fee ad on the frontpage which I had during the holidays btw also on a lot of other suprnova pools. Usually it was only planned to have the fee removed from 24. December to 02. January but I've removed it on the pool now. If 1 % is too much for you, you can simply switch to a different pool but keep in mind that also miners itself take a certain fee.

All the stats are public, so you can simply click on "Transactions" and see the fee, there's nothing to hide there. You can also choose your payout cycle yourself.. You can payout every minute, every hour or every day.. Or only when you hit a certain limit of coins on the pool...

After comparing similar hash(sols) rates to mine in forgetop pool, seems that ZER profits are aprox. 56% of those calculated by WTM.
Because of the variables that affect profitability this can change of course but allow me to compare ZER mining vs other equihash coins.

Is there anyone here willing to help getting these parameters to comply with a z-nomp pool? ... I am also trying to get this to work on my local z-nomp pool, and as loewe1631 described up top. That configuration doesn't work. And when i just keep algorithm as equihash, I only get a bunch of invalid shares submitted. I would be grateful for any help I can get. Thank You

i already posted on page 5 of this thread links to my modified node stratum pool and equihashverify that you will need to rebuild with z-nomp to get zero to work.

great work everyone Smiley

as a thank you to all and to help strengthen the zero network i have made a quick fork of node stratum and equihashverify to support equihash 192,7 for zero.

https://github.com/joshyOcuk/equihashverify
https://github.com/joshyOcuk/node-stratum-pool-2

the simplest way to get this to work would just be install znomp then copy in the modules and npm rebuild, thats it Smiley (i have not tested the gits but im 99% confident i added all the requirements if you run into errors just let me know)

come mine with us!! http://zero.mining4.co.uk 1% fee

i will warn people with the idea of setting up a pool that it is not just set and forget and requires constant tending to, i recommend running the pool locally for a while until you understand how it works before going public as you may find its more work and research than you were willing to put into it, but for anybody willing to learn or already with the skills go for it! more pools = stronger networks

Hey, So I still cannot get zero to work with my z-nomp... after replacing the stratum-pool and equihashverify files and than rebuilding and installing. I get this error now

Quote
2018-01-13 07:25:58 [Pool]   [zero] (Thread 1) Share rejected: {"job":"ccce","ip":"::ffff:192.168.1.82","worker":"t1ZLRKQmry44cDQQXXs5VXj5ULQBVd4sxdG.Main","difficulty":0.03,"error":"invalid solution"}

and when I just rebuild without running install, I get

Quote
node: ../src/equi/equi.c:41: expandArray: Assertion `out_len == 8 * out_width * in_len / bit_len' failed.
2018-01-13 07:29:54 [Master]   [PoolSpawner] Fork 0 died, spawning replacement worker...

ah i will make a pull and fix this correctly with a new assertion check, for now you can just remove line 41 of equi.c and npm rebuild, do not npm install as this will just download and install the original znomp modules

also any other pool questions please contact me in discord or submit an issue on github, i do not want to spam this thread.

best regards

come mine with us at http://zero.mining4.co.uk 1% fee
The same problem, I also appear this, but the worker seems to have been working, my page does not show the workers, 0 workers

TO ALL MINERS OF ZERO

Kindly use ONLY the specific mining software links provided in the first page of this ANN

Zero TEAM has IDENTIFIED some serious problems in the latest releases of the mining software
In most cases the versions after Optiminer 2.0 have been reported to give 50% less solutions leading to smaller rewards

People using the software in the first page of this ANN have the correct full solutions

Also Zero Team announces NEW PROTECTED Community Pool with 0% fee (initially) to be released very very soon

Why Protected?
Because unfortunately in this crypto world some people need our protection
