Who was ripped off?

Everyone who was directly encouraged to panic sell on this thread and the Official ACtM thread by Micebreaker when he helped spread and hype up the false WSJ news.

He didn't create the news but look how he hyped it up for his own ends it - here is just one example of how he helped create the big sell off and spread panic, before buying cheap shares off those he duped:

Lots of derisive, dismissive discussion about Lewis' disruptive $200 million Avalon investment ^here^ and in other posts.

It sure is easy to pat ourselves on the back and scoff at their ambitious, bleeding-edge 20nm roadmap.

Much less mentioned among the JV cheerleader crew is Cointerra's impending angel-funded full-custom 28nm chip.

Do you hear that creaking noise?  That's the sound of our popsicle stand's plastic and particle board supports being crushed by Cointerra's tank treads.

Whistling past the graveyard isn't going to help us avoid being obsolete before Christmas.

I predict a wave of bankruptcies, consolidation/aquisitions, and mergers in the ASIC space as human/financial capital requirements to stay competitive begin overwhelming the garage inventor outfits.

and his very next post :

As things stand now, we're heading into a potential bloodbath.

Once he created this mess and lost ACtM investors a lot of money he can back on bragging he was the new JR and that he had made 20k USD.

Somehow I'm the JR Ewing of BTCTalk today....

I guess it comes with the territory, being a master artist working in the medium of controversy, with trolling as a chief tool in my belt.

Who was ripped off?

Anybody he was able to trick into panic selling when he first started spreading his FUD on here.

Alright, so who wants to start taking bets for when we'll get word of Avalon chips arriving?

I'll put the over/under at Sept. 1, 2013

Over.  Not that I don't think they're coming but I don't see anything coming from avalon saying this will be in two weeks timeframee.

I thought I remember Yifu saying that shipping would resume (start?) in the next couple/few days on Aug. 9th.

I guess we can keep our fingers crossed.

Yes, Bitsyncom put this page up (http://www.avalon-asics.com) on Aug 9, which ends on page two with:

> (you can take this as chips will resume shipping by end of next week for now.)

However, here is an alternative view from the day before above announcement:

Pure speculation here. I have no inside info.

Alydian recently announced that they'll be offering hosted, high-capacity mining rigs at the end of the month. Pricing seems pretty high though.

Avalon is long past due on delivery of their bulk chip orders, with no communication other than the recent "I'm not dead" post. Photos suggest the chips exist but no-one has received any.

Recent rumors suggest that Avalon received a large investment from a wealthy patron. That rumor was debunked, but perhaps there is a kernel of truth.

I speculate that Avalon got a HUGE order from Alydian within the last few weeks. Alydian offered to pay a substantial premium over the asking price to jump the line and get the first batches of chips. All parties have been silent while the details were being worked out.

Alydian gets first-mover advantage, Avalon gets a huge pile of cash, and those who ordered chips will get an apology, a refund, and a small percentage of Avalon's profit to soften the blow.

I understand it's entirely speculation, but if there's any truth to it, I can't imagine why anyone would give further business to Avalon.

Batch 3 refers to the third batch of Avalon mining rigs. Chips do not have batches AFAIK and are allegedly shipped in the order that they were received

So... apparent newbs with copious shares of ACtM with no better source of ownership-decision-influencing information than iCEBREAKER. Got it.

Any ideas for why Labcoin appears to be taking so much of the free BTCGarden coins? Cheaper share price?

Neither are good choices  but LC doesn't have the preorder overhead that ActM has which will be its demise.

You're awfully active in the Labcoin and ActM threads to be of that mindset.

What's the play then?

To drive down the price as much as possible by spreading uncertainty.  Pretty obvious.

Heck if I know, BTCGARDEN was our best chance for a shot at the hashrate title. But I think there is no way ActM is going to pull off a development, mining, and retail operation as a startup.

I'm currently happy with my position in ACTM as it relates to the percentage of my portfolio.  The BTCGarden refund didn't change that.  I'm guessing it is the same for others here.

There is admittedly a lack of viable alternative investments at the moment so that may change.

Hi Vbs,

Hashfast R&D is literally physically embedded within Uniquify World HQ, like an integrated BTC ASIC design co-processor.   Cool

I would be amazed if there was no rapid exchange of ideas/feedback taking place in a continuous dialog.

If you said there wasn't, I wouldn't believe you.  They're all under the same NDA after all.   Wink

Neither of us knows the concrete details. What I do know is that if ActM's deal was with them I would be long gone by now. Huge red flags. http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Uniquify-Reviews-E270043.htm

This just confuses me more.    This is not new right because I thought when the letter on Uniquify letter was posted that there was a deal.   Am I missing something?

Nope, nothing new, just a PR on their site about that deal.

Interesting read there Vbs, thank you for that.

For comparison http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Employee-Review-eASIC-RVW321516.htm
A little outdated now, but I guess noone has had to complain

If the Uniquify/Hashfast Official Press Release isn't a big deal and merely confirmation of known info, why is the ACTM Boy's Choir salivating in anticipation of, and howling with impatience for, eASIC to Officially announce their ACTM partnership?

Glassdoor, like any thinly-populated review site, strongly tends to gather content from the disgruntled because the satisfied have much less incentive for contributing.

Also, Uniquify has twice as many employees as eASIC, so chances of finding a disgruntled ex are doubled.

The whole 'my ASIC partner is better than yours' thing has more than a whiff of desperation about it.

Bottom line is 400GH >> 20GH.    Wink
