How much do you get (on average) with your 600kh?

My observations showed that 750 kh (GPU+cpu) gives 15 mBTC/day in average. At the moment it's about 10 though, at the best day it was ~24.

So, you can expect an average of 12 mBTC/day: a bit less than that right now but spiking at the times of "scamcoin" bubbles.

Is the pool down?

exactly. I am new to mining and spent a lot of time understanding what I am doing. This is definitely the easiest but definitely not the best! But then again its a lot of hard work if you want to do this yourself

Well, I DID mine altcoins (mostly ltc and ppc)and traded them on exchanges (mostly vircurex) myself and it was actually fun and not THAT hard to do, just takes lots of time since you have to be monitoring the exchange constantly.

This, middlecoin, pool is for the lazy and/or noobs. Don't get me wrong, I've been mining here for a couple months now and I like the convenience. I've had my fun mining and trading on my own, so here I am.

The point is, you are missing out if you don't try it on your own for at least a little bit. You may lose some money but the epxerience you gain will be invaluable.

Too many people looking for a get-rich-quick scheme; it just doesn't exist, even in bitcoins, you have to pay a price.

Couldn't agree more.  I have 6 or 7 different wallets on my computer.  It's fun to play the market, but it's very time intensive.

When i said hard work i meant time involved. Obviously its not hard to mine coins and trade on exchanges if you know what you are doing. I work full time 60+ hrs and time is of essence.

Stats are back, and I think I liked them better when they weren't updating...

$10 over 8 hours at 4.2 mhs seems pretty low...

ya my stats just updated too for the first time today and only made about 0.017 @ 3mhs... probably just a bad day but I see some others at similar hashrate making more... hopefully I see more in my balance before the next payout

That's odd. I'm at 3.4 and balance says 0.047; also had ~1h downtime last 24.

Yeah, payout tonight looks to be near identical to yesterday with the same hashing power... maybe 5-7.5% lower, but very close. These aren't the first few days of DOGE, however, payout still isn't bad compared to before the November boom

i think he was working on stats and they werent updating i noticed mine just updated and was paid out just in the last hour it seems.

Quick bit of advice  ... What version of GCMiner is recommended V3.5 or 3.7 ?

3.5 works alot better for me 3.7 i was getting a ton of getwork failures on my 5870 and 6950 not as many on the 7970.

I am still using 2.11.4 on my rigs, as I could not see any advantages in newer versions - it only get worse

hmm worth a shot but i remmber reading the newer ones have some improvemts to scrypt so thats why i was using them i been testing a litecoin fork cgminer also.

I use CGMiner 3.2.2 due to the fact that it still works with Middlecoin.com via a stratum proxy. I use SP because I have multiple rigs and changing credentials etc is a real cow for me.

So, to summarise;

I use SP from https://github.com/slush0/stratum-mining-proxy.git not the normal one because the real one has problems, specifically when I tried to go to a pool it complained about some unauthorised worker problem. This one just allows you to override the username/password entirely for submitted shares. Been running it for about 4 hours now and every single KH/sec shows up on my destination pool.

I use http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/3.2/cgminer-3.2.2.tar.bz2 for Linux because it's the last version which works appropriately with SP.

PS: I notice absolutely no hash rate differences between 3.2.2 and 3.7.2 which I was running for about 7 days prior.

Regards,

Matt

I am just thinking, with the amount of hashrate middlecoin is getting would it be more profitable to spread the hashrate between multiple coins than mining on one coin? I guess there are a lot of factors to take into consideration but I think the implementation is not too hard, multiple servers that each mine different coins and payout is determined by amount of hashrate reported on the site.

Not a new idea... by far....

This has been floated something like every 5 pages or so in this thread.

Counter argument is how to equitably distribute work effort earnings when one group of miners are working on a more profitable coin than others.

You dont, you continue to pay everyone the same share, no matter the coins they are on. Some times u'll be on the better coin some times on the worse, if the system is setup it balances out.

for me, the question is why would the pool mine anything but the most profitable coin at any one time? what is the purpose behind mining anything else?

Because coins can come and go during the course of the day, if you mine the top two and the top coin drops, u r already on the top coin to start selling. it would need some work to get going, but might be an idea some one wants to run with.

Exchange volume is a huge factor, if you can't sell the coins then it's doesn't matter how much more profitable they are, this is true even with a 10MH rig let alone an 8000MH pool.

As the pool gets larger this becomes more and more of a problem reducing the coins that are available to mine, so I think at some point mining multiple coins will have to happen.
