EDIT: I am using Asus R9 280x DC2 TOP version 1, I am getting around 780kh/s for each card.

May I ask your cgminer configuration, please?
Yes please, I'm going to use the exact same card... Your config would be most useful!

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

If that's so, i would also switch my 3x R9 290 to 4x R9 280X

780 surely sounds kinda high. Could you share your configuration please and also show us maybe a screenshot of your miner? Not trying to bash, just wanted to see since I was planning on buying a few of those myself, but am still looking around at others. This would give me a 100% confirmation to choose those if one can still find them.

Fellow middlecoiners....I've put a post in the hardware section about my rigs that I'd appreciate some thoughts on if anyone can spare a couple of mins of their time.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=406706.0

Thanks.

They talk about 280x, not 290x.

I'm loving the new Virginia server (useast), H2o.  I am really hoping you plan on keeping it going.  I get less than half the rejects from that one (~1.5%) compared to the standard Oregon server (~4%).

Really nice thing to have multiple servers to spread the load.

Hi all, I'm in the process of moving from 1 rig to 2 rigs for the first time.

Are there any disadvantages in using the same BTC payout address for multiple rigs?  I'm guessing it works fine (given the hashrates of some of the bigger miners!) just asking the question to see if anyone has any other thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

wow, is that temperature normal for a 290???

I'm not running anything above low 60's (10-270x's)

Are you guys using --failover-only in cgminer?

--failover-only: Don't leak work to backup pools when primary pool is lagging

The normal failover mechanism in cgminer will allow some work to go to the backup pools if there is a delay in getting work from the primary pool you have set. This can be as much as 10% if the pool has latency issues. It then only fails to the backup pool if the primary pool stops giving work for 1 minute. failover-only does not change the failover mechanism, but it does not allow work to go to the backup pools unless the primary pool has failed completely for at least a minute. It then will switch to the backup pool. If cgminer considers a pool dead or down, it tries to contact that pool 1 minutely.

If I have three middlecoin stratum servers defined as backup/failover servers, what would be the best? If I enable --failover-only and primary has some "minor" issues, then my workers wouldn't be "working" in the time of these "minor" issues. If I don't enable this, my workers will instantly failover to other middlecoin stratum servers, but since these might be mining different coins, shares would be lost? Is that correct? Any opinion?

My 290 ran at 96C when mining at 820kH/s (the highest stable I could get, but then again my card seems to be a crappy one. Driver crashes alot when i stop mining and restart etc.)
Now it runs at 65C with watercooling and the same 820kH/s. If i increase intesnity the kH/s decreases. Sux...

im around 830 khash/s with my 290s on default clocks (947/1250). But the fan is running at 82% (around 4500 rpm), keeps the temperatur "cool" at about 78-80 degrees.

ROFL....he is getting 22.3696 MH rejected...
3.5% reject is about on par with what I get, it's not a strange value. Like it was mentioned earlier, a botnet would have a much, much higher number of rejected shares.
