when block price will = 1 ?
how many month?

Block reward halves roughly every 21 days. Currently it is at 32 QRK, so another 5 halvings (about 3 months).

I've actually started thinking more and more about the inflation aspect of QRK, and I'm starting to understand how it's necessary to keep the coin mining and growing.

I don't see how you can keep people mining the coin off TX fees alone for a continued period of time.

Am I wrong in saying this?

Thoughts?

Inflation is more or less necessary if the coins are supposed to be used in everyday life.

I would also propose a cap to the 0.5 % inflation after 3 years -
...
then 3 following years of .05% inflation .

At the moment Quark will have 0.5% inflation after coin generation. I'm open to have a community vote on what the inflation should be.

At the moment of launch, and the months that follow, is crucial to adopt strategies that ultimately aim to increase adoption. So, I guess the question we should ask is this: —How does the 0.5% inflation rate affects early adoption?

Many people rush to invest in cryptocoins because of their deflationary nature, not all, but most of them are, and we have Bitcoin to blame. The word "inflation" and the term "inflationary currency" can, and possibly will, scare uneducated investors who fail to understand the advantages of Quarkcoins.

With that in mind, here's an alternative kickstart strategy:

1. Keep the inflation concept within the coin. (The argument is QRK is suppose to be a currency, not an asset) — But...

2. For the initial years, set the inflation rate to 0%, and raise the reward fees. (That will attract miners and investors alike) — Then...

3. Set a GOAL. Once the currency achieve parity to the dollar, lower the reward fees, and kick in the maintenance inflation. Safe and sound.

At the moment, it seems that Quarkcoins are growing at a steady rate, and as that happen, more people get interested in learning about them. While I'm just an amateur in economics, I'm an expert in communication, and surprising as it may sounds for some, words can make or break a deal.

Don't forget about the logo, forums, and website. QRK will grow a lot more once people see how reasonable of a coin it is.

Fair comments: Just one most important point to consider..

Unlike (nearly all) other coins, Quark has a rapidly stepping-down block reward. That means that the vast majority of the coins have already been mined. The 'inflation' is therefore important to maintain the mining support (transaction fees would also do that, but the mining gives more flexibility). The 'inflation' element in other coins is greater for many years , as they will take much longer to mine out.

So what does that mean? QRK prices will rise slower than other coins?

So what does that mean? QRK prices will rise slower than other coins?

It means that there will be less freshly mined Quarkcoins relative to the existing supply... rather more similar to Gold. Other coins continue to be mined in larger quantities for many years, and one would assume the miners would need to sell constantly in that case.

The price of Quark in the coming years will have less influence from mining sales.

0.5% inflation is mandatory now. There're too many clients online to change that now.

Quark website should address this concern now.

so I've tried everything I can find from the OP links and everything from the last few pages of the thread and absolutely can't mine on a pool.

Either the miners I was told to download have

massive malware trigger on my av/firewall (that one was a mistake click by me for sure*) or it flips to a download about 7 things of bloatware and even after declining them all but clicking next to go through it won't download the miner at all (a linked miner repeatedly in this thread and was again recently linked--I can't figure out how to download it b/c it won't).

I can't figure out how to mine this on a pool (presuming solo is useless at this point) without putting bloatware or malware on my computer.

I'm really starting to hate this coin.  How the flip is anyone buying this?  I figure if I can't mine this without complete shit on my computer that others can't either.

Yeah, I'm kinda mad.  That's scamcoin crap.

*it's via one of the pools in the OP, seriously with these OP's on the coins clean then up once in awhile ffs.

We had some major breaktrough with the bounty logo design thread.

Quarkcoin has an ASCII symbol now, check it out: ℚ —That looks neat! Bye BTC, hello ℚ. Smiley

Add your +1 to the this post if you also want an ASCII symbol for Quarkcoins.

+1 here for the new ℚ symbol

I have no problem with ASCII  it would be nice - but lets do better than a Q ?

0.5% inflation is mandatory now. There're too many clients online to change that now.

Quark website should address this concern now.

^^ this is not true it can be changed - it can be done so don't stress  < i've spoken to the best Coders that I know on this forum .  at worst there will be some disruptions .

but we can force nodes off a BC  - this fork will happen < and i think it will be pretty smooth -
