OP was predicting ethereum will overtake bitcoin this year which is difficult to happen because while bitcoin is down, ethereum also dropped a lot. But we don't know because everything can go crazy in crypto market which is actually common every once in a while. But I don't think ethereum surpasses bitcoin this year.

Even if the price of bitcoin is going down, thats doesn't mean etherum can overtake btc .bitcoin is the best coin and the most valuable coin in the whole world. If etherum will takeover BTC,that will not even be this year. But i don't think etherum can overtake bitcoin.

Doubt that can happen, at least in near future. Bitcoin is more famous and have more funds. Etherium might only overtake Bitcoin only if most of Bitcoin investors shift to ETH.

That is a possibility since bitcoin price is more unstable that ethereum but it would take years from now or decades. If more people are getting interested with ethereum than bitcoin I think ethereum will finally take over bitcoins place. In the end it really depends on the popularity of the coin.

If widespread crypto adoption ever occurs, ETH might well be the most popular crypto asset.

There are lots of hurdles ahead; mainly the ASICS war and  the shift for PoW to PoS, but ETH has the potential to become a crypto monster like BTC itself.

Will it overtake it? Nobody knows for sure! Four years ago, who could have guessed things would be as they are now?

I believe BTC will keep the dominance for the foreseeable future but in a couple years, who knows?

I agree, I think ETH has potential to be THE coin.

It is definitely the most useful at this point.

I don't think it is absolutely necessary to compare Bitcoin with Ethereum. This is 2 completely different coins.
Bitcoin is the leading cryptocurrency that can never be defeated. Ethereum is interested in developing it into the most widely used cryptocurrency.

eth is superior to the problem of centralization, and the government hates pseudonym, if the upcoming regulation requires that all coins have a clear legal and ownership, then ethereum will be an important successor in the first place, no one denies it, if we see other successors such as BCH, The coin is not liked by many people and will still be under eth.

Personally I think it's hard enthereum passes the bitcoin although ethereum is in use of many platforms it remains difficult, and so far no one has passed the bitcoin let alone for next year I think it is impossible but for the future it could happen if all investors turn to ethereum.

Ethereum looked very promising last year, but when Bitcoin falls Ethereum also falls even more extreme. I think Ethereum is still very potential, but will not be more expensive than Bitcoin in the near future.

if ethereum is not possible to replace bitcoin, bitcoin prices are very expensive and ethereum is very far from bitcoin prices, it is very unlikely to take over bitcoin.

For me, I am not closing the opportunity for eth to overtake bitcoin, we dont know what the future holds and maybe in some time eth can rise its popularity and value and start to advanced and overtake bitcoin step by step. We dont know hat the future holds, there are many uncertainties that might happen.

The potential of blocking technology allows it to go beyond the scope of digital payments. More and more innovators will see the attractiveness of smart contracts, ICO and higher speed of etherium transactions. As a result, they will have to use the etherium token, which assumes that the ether rate will continue to grow.

Ethereum is the best altcoin but i dont think that it has chance to overtake bitcoin because bitcoin is the best cryptpcurrency among the rest and for me the future of bitcoin is more bright over than ethereum.

for me its not.. 1st bitcoinhas the worst program although its the first to be known, 2nd eth uses by lot of company who wants to enter blockchain so i think its undervalued..

In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency.  I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.
Well i dont think so,because all i know is Bitcoin is tbe most popular and number 1 cryptocurrency and even in the world.I will still remain in Bitcoin as long as its goin on and work.I know that bitcoin is worthy

I believe that Ethereum will forever be the number two cryptocurrency. Because bitcoin will always be number one and will not disappear anywhere.
