I can't modify the overclock settings of my RX 6600 with PhoenixMiner 5.9b in windows.

Using AMD driver 21.11.2.

It's my oc settings:

-fanmin 50 -fanmax 50 -mclock 945 -cvddc 735 -mvddc 1150 -cclock 900 -amd

But nothing changed. (except Core clock)

What should I do?   Huh

System:

Windows 10 20H2
B85 / G1840 / 4G RAM
MSI MECH RX 6600 x 8  (Every card can work)
AMD driver 21.11.2
Run in admin privilege

As ironmanred said, for the memory clocks, you need to set them near the maximum for Windows. For example -mclock 1800 up to 1900.
Also, I think -fanmin 50 -fanmax 50 won't work as expected, because you need to set the maximum speed higher than the minimum. If you want to set the fans at a fixed speed of 50% is better to use -tt -50.

Added support for the latest AMD Windows drivers (21.10.2, 21.10.1, 21.9.2, and 21.9.1). Note that any AMD cards older than Polaris (RX470/480/570/580/590) won't work with the latest AMD drivers.
Too bad I have 580s, then I will not update the miner. As long as I have version 5.5 working

Be extremely careful and immediately delete anything that is not yet published by the Phoenixminer team itself.So far we are up only to 5.8c and in their official website which you can find in the first page of this thread 5.9b is not yet released.Probably you have got some malware and you need to delete it right away.

If you made a typo and mean 5.7b you should upgrade to latest version 5.8c and use MSI Afterburner to change memory clock,core clock and fan speed,these are all needed to be modified in order to get the max from your card.Still if you have a 5.9b definitely is malware and you need to delete it right away.

I am using 5.8c with following command line settings for 6600 and it works well. I am using AMD 21.10.2
 
-fanmin 15 -cvddc 900 -cclock 1100 -mclock 1900

I think you need to use double frenquency for mclock in WIndows.

A rushing mistake from my side and I humbly apologize for it.Unfortunately no LHR unlock as of yet but they say big changes are coming next month so we can expect a good release of the 5.10 or 6.1 version whichever that will be.

Hello PhoenixMiner developers! I would like to offer you an idea for an additional option "GPU tuning parameter". For maximum efficiency kH / J. Think about this trick. I noticed many times during auto-tuning -gt parameter it is 0.1-0.15 MH / s less and consumes 10 watts less. Maybe worth a try?

Sorry if I missed a post to this.

I upgraded to windows 11 and now keep getting clSetKernelArg (-48)with 5.5 and 5.8 I added and removed "-clKernel 0
pause" still doesnt work.

Any ideas?

Hello,

What can be the cause that PhoenixMiner can't see more than 9 GPU in my RIG ?
TeamRed see all the 12 GPU on the same RIG.  Huh
Windows 10, 12*RX460.
In Windows Device manager I can see all the 12 GPU s also.

The updated list of known issues (driver incompatibilities, etc.) and workarounds:

  • AMD Linux driver 21.40.1 has a bug preventing proper setting of clocks and voltages on older cards (RX4x0/RX5x0/Vega/RadeonVII). Given that these drivers are also usually slower than the older drivers for these cards, we recommend using Linux drivers 20.30 for anything older than RX6000 series.
  • If you are using Linux drivers 21.40.1 with Radeon VII cards, you need to add the option -fpwm 1 in order to have proper fan control.
  • AMD Linux drivers 21.40.1 has finally removed the requirement of PCIe atomics but there are problems when you try to mix Polaris (RX4x0/5x0) cards and Vega or newer cards on the same rig.
  • Some Nvidia cards will report a lot of stale shares under Windows 11. Using the same driver version under Windows 10 resolves the issue.

Hello, anyone knows how can I change my devfee pool in phoenixminer? it automatically chooses an SSL port with a 5555 port number which my internet cannot connect to! (I don't know why)in that case, phoenixminer changes the pool to a none SSL port after a minute but it causes me a lot of stale shares. I always have this issue ,is there any way to define a devfee address for the miner?

bug report, Windows 10 ,5600xt vs 5700 mix rig --cvddc  don't work on 5600xt 's, 5700's are ok!! tried many verssions of driver and all versions of phoenix.. Teamredminer works correctly on same rigs.

I have 6 rigs, 3 rigs can not run under 5.9c (Windows 10):
1 x RX5700XT (21.3.2) - ok
7 x Radeon VII (21.5.1) + 1 x RX6700XT (21.5.1) - ok
8 x RX5700XT (21.3.2) - ok. UPD: fatal error message happens too often, revert back to 5.8c
4 x RT6700XT (21.3.2) + 3 x RX5700XT (21.3.2) - fail
9 x RX5700XT (21.3.2) + 1 x RTX3060Ti (460.89) - fail
2 x RX6700XT (21.3.2) - fail

All rigs work well on 5.8c
So, I updated them back to 5.8c

RIG REBUILD
Ok, Update:
Miner_Ver: Phoenix Miner v5.8c
OS: Win10 x64 Pro
RAM 32GB DDR4
ASUS Mining Expert 19pcie (Really only 13pcie + 6 pcie used for p106's cards)
 
I have rebuilt my rig & gave everything a good clean during rebuild. New GPU Raisers ver009's And now latest ver10x (2021 editions) New GPU Thermal pads/New GPU Fans (Lot of work)..

I partially rebuilt my rig then discovered there was a fault *somewhere* which I was then forced to disassemble to locate the cause of offending malfunction.  Problem turned out to be a Faulty Memory Module of RAM, I may have caught /knocked during the break down/service..

Anyway, I decided that the current PSU(s) EVGA1600T2 + HX1200 was not sufficient to power my rig (As I'm adding x2 6900 XT Monday =)
 
So, I decided to go with a new Corsair AX1600i Paired with the EVGA 1600 T2 (Have the HX1200 as a redundant PSU maybe Ill run a raiser from it.. Will see how we go regards power draw)

This addition of AX1600i should give me more headroom and not over burden the PSU's
 
I'm still testing but I should be able to get at least one of the 6900XT's in and *If required* use the old HX1200 as the Third PSU for the rig to keep my power profile all within specs.

Hopefully, the power draws will all be balanced over the rig's PSU's and  running within the optimal spec for each of the PSU Units to hit the 94% Titanium 80Plus Ratings (or as close as possible)

Each Raiser is connected to 6-pin direct to PSU (No 6Pin - SATA Connections Just asking for trouble)
Some of the larger 8-Pin ATX connections which uses the thicker 16AWG I have Spit to power 2 raisers. ~150w max draw 75w on each raiser (Well within specs)

x10 RX580 8GB (185 TDP + 75w Raisers = 260w)
System @ Idle ~240w-260w peek boot draw reading were off the wall.
Im still digging in to locate the detailed specs from Sapphire for the x6900XT's to see their TDP 300w *I think* (Based on 1x 6-pin + 2x 8-pin) connections.

(Amps X Volts = Watts)  (+20% (520w) Headroom.)

This is what I really wanted to share with you guys.. These hashrates from some of the RX580's 34.2MH/s @ ~92w Stable!!!!  (x4 GPU rig pulling only 620w from the wall !)
I Think this can be improved too..

Request for Comments regarding running the X2 RX 6900 XT SE OC on the same system as the x580's

I don't know what I should do regarding modding the BIOS'es *Yet* as I had done with my Polaris v20 cards.
- Maybe If I just tune my rig .config using stock BIOS(es) first to get them running stable alongside the RX580's THEN look at Bios/Memory modifying, et al. .Huh

Regarding Phoenix Miner v5.9c<== The Release Candidate I did run this prios to rebuilding this rig and it gave me shit BUT I cant 100% confirm if it was due to My broken rig or Buggy Beta version..
If anybody can give me some suggestions regarding this keeping in mind that i want to if at all possible have the RX580's and 6900XT's running from the same rig.
- Maybe run 2 separate instances of Phoenix Miner (One for the 580's one for the 6900XT's..)

The official release version was updated to 5.9d because we fixed some regression bugs that were introduced in 5.9b, and 5.9c. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.9d from the first post of this thread.

The changes in this release (since 5.9c) are:

  • Fixed issues with AMD RX6700XT with older drivers
  • Other small fixes

Hey, just a short heads up .... First of all, i don't think it's the right time to buy gpus or upgrade rigs, seeing ETH2 coming and the ROI of a gpu being at least 1 year or even more... See, i flipped all my 580s a year ago for RTX3000series V1, at that time the ROI was about 3 month, so i made profit for about 6-9 month now and didn't even consider investing it into new hardware because the ROI since may 2021 rise 4 times!

But still if you want to buy gpus, why do you buy 6900XTs!? the have the same hashrate as 6800xt or 6800 and draw way more power!? The are not power efficient at all!!! 2x6900xt are about 130mh/s and draw 300 to 350 watts, further there are no bios mods if seen working (like the old 580 bios days) and oc/undervolting is a pain in the ass... at least compared to other gpus. The 6600 or 6600XT are as power efficient as the RTX3000series V1, if you want AMD i would consider those, even if you need more Riser/Pci-e power, at least if you have enough mainboard connections available. If not try to get some used powerful RTX 3000series V1 or 5700/5700XT if you want to stay AMD. But watch and research the gpus power/hashrate efficiency!!

But again, at the gpu prices these days, ROI is high, the only profit i see is holding your mined coins and hope for higher prices to sell, but then you should just buy coins atm and don't bother mining... If mining is and hobby you enjoy, then go for it and have fun, but don't buy the wrong gpus, do your research!!BTW your 580s are running at perfect temps, maybe to low and a lower fan speed could be considered, but i don't know under what climate they are running. But the use a lot of power! I run mine at a little lower hashrate 32-33mh/s but with bios mods they run at 65-75watts at about 50-58C°, still i don't now how the 580s aged with eth-difficulty over the last year, maybe they can't be run more efficient these days!?...

Agreed..  Yeah I will get a little back regards ROI.  Time is nearing for the ETH2 PoS and will be time to look for new POW to mine Maybe ETC/RVN.. OR simply Power down operation and wait OR SELL as already ROI'ed (Excluding the x6900XT's I can keep and repurpose Or sell at current market rate). 
- I'm going to mine with them and retire my OLD R9 290X 4GB (or 8GB I forget ) in my Dev machine and slam one of the 6900XT's into there, Continue Mining with the other..  This is another option.

Regarding ROI in general My Rigs have done like ~2.5x - 3x ROI since 2017 , So, i'm Up..

Already Purchased!.. Shipping Here Monday (Tomoz) I am learning about ML/Deep learning.. and Rendering Mining on the 6900XT's will be Primary role initially but then I can use as test bench *almost* as their secondary role...

Hummm... Okay.. TBH, I assumed there would be something out there for the 6900XT.. I need to DMyOR on this one..

Ok... Yeah, I did think about doing it in a similar way prior to purchase But space is at a premium which was one of my concerns. I could return one of the 6900XT's and swap for a RTX3800 [without LHR] (maybe add a couple of hundred to get 3900 for the tensor cores)

Yeah I hear you.. These 6900XT's were purchased from a position of profits, So, its kind of fked up how I look at this BUT to me these are Free cards.. I know, I know far from it.. but cost me Zero, in real terms Profits from Mining & Trading, this is looked at like CapEx spend for Q1 2022 lol..

Ok, So Im based in the UK and ambient temps are currently 19Deg C. To paint a better picture These 4 Now 5th RX580 NITRO+ SE are on the bottom row of a dual row 12GPU Aluminium open air case (Stackable with a rig Above and a rig to the right Hand side.)  As I add more to the Rig I expect temps to climb but as it stands the temps posted *Currently* have lots of breathing room... Once I fully complete populating the rig a row will sit above the row where these are situated now.  (LONG way to say I expect the heat to climb.. AND , I expect there to be a hotspot between the external 2 cards on each side and the 2 gpu's in the middle...  LOL)

Most definitely.. PhoenixMiner has done a cracking job AND TBH I can see that as Diff has climbed they are keeping pace ... I almost guarantee I can make some efficiencies/savings if I take another look at the BIOS mods again OR that amdtweektool to actually find the sweet spot for the timing straps. As IMSMR I used the Polaris Editor just cloned the straps timings from the strap above. NO real effort was made at the time to really "trim the fat", kind of thing.. It was more of a "Wham! bang thank you mam" kind of job.. An area to take another look at and deep dive for sure...   


All in all I've added in another card and am running this in now and adjusting in incremental changes.. I can see that there is still plenty of room to bring the power draw down.

RIG REBUILD
Ok, Update:
Miner_Ver: Phoenix Miner v5.8c
OS: Win10 x64 Pro
RAM 32GB DDR4
ASUS Mining Expert 19pcie (Really only 13pcie + 6 pcie used for p106's cards)
 
I have rebuilt my rig & gave everything a good clean during rebuild. New GPU Raisers ver009's And now latest ver10x (2021 editions) New GPU Thermal pads/New GPU Fans (Lot of work)..

I partially rebuilt my rig then discovered there was a fault *somewhere* which I was then forced to disassemble to locate the cause of offending malfunction.  Problem turned out to be a Faulty Memory Module of RAM, I may have caught /knocked during the break down/service..

Anyway, I decided that the current PSU(s) EVGA1600T2 + HX1200 was not sufficient to power my rig (As I'm adding x2 6900 XT Monday =)
 
So, I decided to go with a new Corsair AX1600i Paired with the EVGA 1600 T2 (Have the HX1200 as a redundant PSU maybe Ill run a raiser from it.. Will see how we go regards power draw)

This addition of AX1600i should give me more headroom and not over burden the PSU's
 
I'm still testing but I should be able to get at least one of the 6900XT's in and *If required* use the old HX1200 as the Third PSU for the rig to keep my power profile all within specs.

Hopefully, the power draws will all be balanced over the rig's PSU's and  running within the optimal spec for each of the PSU Units to hit the 94% Titanium 80Plus Ratings (or as close as possible)

Each Raiser is connected to 6-pin direct to PSU (No 6Pin - SATA Connections Just asking for trouble)
Some of the larger 8-Pin ATX connections which uses the thicker 16AWG I have Spit to power 2 raisers. ~150w max draw 75w on each raiser (Well within specs)

x10 RX580 8GB (185 TDP + 75w Raisers = 260w)
System @ Idle ~240w-260w peek boot draw reading were off the wall.
Im still digging in to locate the detailed specs from Sapphire for the x6900XT's to see their TDP 300w *I think* (Based on 1x 6-pin + 2x 8-pin) connections.

(Amps X Volts = Watts)  (+20% (520w) Headroom.)

This is what I really wanted to share with you guys.. These hashrates from some of the RX580's 34.2MH/s @ ~92w Stable!!!!  (x4 GPU rig pulling only 620w from the wall !)
I Think this can be improved too..

Request for Comments regarding running the X2 RX 6900 XT SE OC on the same system as the x580's

I don't know what I should do regarding modding the BIOS'es *Yet* as I had done with my Polaris v20 cards.
- Maybe If I just tune my rig .config using stock BIOS(es) first to get them running stable alongside the RX580's THEN look at Bios/Memory modifying, et al. .Huh

Regarding Phoenix Miner v5.9c<== The Release Candidate I did run this prios to rebuilding this rig and it gave me shit BUT I cant 100% confirm if it was due to My broken rig or Buggy Beta version..
If anybody can give me some suggestions regarding this keeping in mind that i want to if at all possible have the RX580's and 6900XT's running from the same rig.
- Maybe run 2 separate instances of Phoenix Miner (One for the 580's one for the 6900XT's..)

Quick question about :

-resetoc Reset the hardware overclocking settings on startup

So, Say on GPU fail watchdog kicks in and triggers the reboot.bat, Rig reboots and autorun miner_start.bat launches the miner again; loads up the config.txt. <If -resetoc enabled> Does this setting mean that the OC settings in the config.txt will be ignored? Another word will it run the cards at stock regardless of what settings are in the config.txt.?

OR does this setting work <If -resetoc is enabled> by clearing any previous OC settings BEFORE launching the actual mining config and running the process THEN reapplies the clocks/mem & voltage settings from config.txt / clocks.txt and resume.
Like, clear any previous settings then reapply??

- Final question about -resetoc,  Can this be applied per GPU or ALL detected under "-d 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11"

How would you apply this settings to manage a rig.. Can you describe how to apply this and the order of priority in the config.txt file what takes precidance over the clocks Ive set vs. the -resetoc setting.

GPU's ARRIVED today I'm just prepping to load them into my frames.

Man These 6900XT's are monsters!
Wil post speeds/config once sorted and any tweaking /tools/guides I can manage to find.
