The team has recently published their September monthly update.  One of the updates included the development of the IOS/Android app. Here are some of the features that have been implemented so far.

- Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets added
- Login functionality added: now possible to login using a mnemonic phrase, seed or keystore file.
- Multiple languages and currencies added.
- Switching between accounts with one click

The team has also published an article that discusses the launch of the mainnet where they discuss their plans to implement a Hybrid Consensus, supplemented by an enhanced voting mechanism in PoS, PoW, and Shards. With “database in memory” architecture for PoS consensus, Essentia will be able to significantly increase TPS frequency. The team is continuing to move forward. Lots of questions about MNs and SNs, but the mainnet still in design, so no answers yet, start is planned within Q4, but as far as I can see, they are planning to launch as soon as possible, seems they don't want to do it on a last day of Q4 and put all efforts in launching stable and convinient platform

In particular, they are preparing for the mainnet launch in Q4 and have released an overview of the consensus model the Essentia blockchain will adopt, a hybrid mix of both POS and POW.
