There are a bunch of good pools out there but make sure the admin of those pools are honest and open with all their members before sending any hashing power to them.
Or you will end up not receiving payment from them even after you have completed blocks for them.
It has happened to me several times already.
And make sure they have a group for members to respond to them and their team so to solve any issues right away and not be waiting hours or even days for them to solve their problems with the sites they provide to their customers, the miners.

A lot of scam pools coming out of the word work now making themselves seem as a legitimate pool.

Closed? what a shock. Knew this was gonna happen when he snuck coins off my account and stole them. It was the first month it was around. The posts are in this thread somewhere.

if you're below the threshold you don't get a payout.

I didn't reach to the threshold because he shut down the pool.
So he is a Scammer

If there were 1000 miners like me, he robbed about BTC1= $6300

Totally agree with this, I don't get how a pool can post a 24hr closure with no warning and just take anything they want from those that didn't make the cut on reaching minimums. Definitely was not handled morally in that aspect. Which astounds me a lot seeing I actually felt I could trust this place.

Me, didn't catch this news in time, I do profit switching so fell under this amount. Is it alot of money? not for me personally but this pool definitely wasted my power bill when I could have had the warning in advance and put my resources on other pools that actually stick around. Not cool but enjoy the lump sum from everyone, if this pool ever pops up again, won't be adding it to my list on Awesome Miner ever again. This seems to be the scam exit year for so many pools and projects....but its good thing maybe in the long run, with some luck these types get out of the industry and maybe 2019 we can less of that activity on users trying to back Crypto as lifers

Also did not receive, it is not my fault that closed the pool, this is theft.

Another example of a pool that can go poof overnight.

Watch yourself and don't waste your electricity costs which are high enough for even running your rigs for a day on these scammer pools and their operators.

I tried to warn people myself. I even posted the info from the site, before and after the money was taken. I avoid any yiimp pool. They all steal from you. Can only trust a couple normal sites. All the others are crooks. If its not on suprnova or a couple other pools, then the coins can rot. No reason not to trust them.

I can say the same thing. Wink
Trust in the normal sites and the rest of them with these new ones can just tell them fuck off with their bullshit where they will just scam you out of your electricity and time for trusting in them.
Pools are the new crooks in scamming people.

2 years of mining and on all different pools etc and i can tell you this guys:

I only use nvidia GPU´s  so i cant speak for people using AMD etc.

Either mine the coin directly or use the only honest (no matter how much i dislike saying it) multiswitch-algo program out there, nicehash.

If you´re using nvidia GPU and just care for profit switched in usd or euro, ravencoin is the way to go.
collect 1 week and then exchange to btc or usd/eu/etc.
Way better profit this way!

Climate has changed and it requires each miner to put effort on making most btc/usd/eu/etc by adapting to the situation.
Mining on new pools during this time or when BTC is 10k+ will always be risky so don´t be lazy.

My main issue with nicehash is fees, takes ages to get a payout and then they subtract a fee from your payout, which take the piss especially when you can't set a threshold. I used zergpool for coins that are a bastard to mine / unprofitable to mine as it was a hell of a lot more convenient than mining another coin depositing it to an exchange selling then buying the coin I wanted

I'd agree with your other point about mining something like rvn then trading it in once per week it would result in more btc if thats what you're after, the only real swine is withdrawing btc from an exchange because again fees but at least you can wait untill its worth the fee and withdraw a chunk of btc.

Hmmm, the pool is gone?  Shocked
I liked its multi-algo system, thare's no other pool like that, afaik...
However, going silently without paying off is not good at all.  Angry

In fact, there are a sufficient number of multi-algo pools that appeared earlier than the zergpool and have a more reliable reputation. I recently left zerg due to low profitability, at the time when api shows twice as high a result.
