It is incredible that during all this backlog issues they still had time to work on 600GH 28nm miner.
That's because the design engineers don't assemble Jalapenos

"design engineer" - heh. I kind of doubt they even have one of those, given their concept renderings (with the incorrect PCIe connector and fan that would never actually work)

If people change their orders, the chances are it will be even longer before they have gear shipped, I don't see the sense in that. It's been months now, and they still haven't shipped any 2013 orders, and they are supposed to be able to make 400 units a day! At that production claim, they should have been able to knockoff all the Jally pre-orders in a few weeks, but they didn't, they are still shipping Dec 2012 orders! Now they are back at square one with a new untested product, a new ASIC design that hasn't even reached tape out, as you know BFL quote 3mths. for bulk chip orders, and that's for first generation chips that were taped out at the start of the year. That means we wont see the Monarch shipping this year for sure, add to that the chip packaging and PCB factories will be shut for Xmas. It also means the people that ordered minirigs and singles in 2012 will have had their money tied up for nearly 2 years, which is kind of insane!

This is my quote on the issue circa one year ago when they were having issues shipping FPGA singles and mini rigs: Looking at the list here, I wonder if BFL might finally catch up on orders. There were 86 ordered in May, 43 in June, 4 in July and 4 in August if my quick count is right. It looks like they're about 1/3rd of the way through the June orders, but assuming their actual order sheet has a similar distribution to the list in another month they might actually get all caught up.
No facts supporting this- I think they're using the pre order money from the asic orders to fill their current back logs. I don't think we're going to see asics through BFL for a while if at all. Bloody hilarious!! Well done! X10000000 = Amazing!

BFL is not a hardware company, they are an investment lottery. Good luck dealing with those scammers.

They have been making changes to the site, of course including the image of the proposed new card. Jody said in her blog yesterday that the programmer had messed up something re shipping status. As I recall, it made orders look like they were being hosted by BFL rather than shipped. I thought I'd see what they've changed since yesterday, but now attempts to reach their "Support Forum" pages give:
"Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to forums.butterflylabs.com.
The OCSP server has no status for the certificate.
(Error code: sec_error_ocsp_unknown_cert)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site."
The timing of this interests me, as it suggests they kept working on the site late into Saturday night and early Sunday morning (their time).
As far as I can tell, only the home page works at the moment - the page with the image of the new card, plus the link where you can click to pre-order it.
Any thoughts on this aspect of things? Is this another red flag?
Edit: Some of the other links still work, such as Products, Drivers, FAQ and Jobs.
Edit: This is three hours after my original post. All links are working now. What just happened?... I have no idea.

So you aligning yourself with Hitler ? Or, you saying you are in a same boat as Hitler? I think that rant of a better person who was fed up would have worked better.

As much as I appreciate the inherent insensitivity, this particular clip has become an Internet meme re-subbed for many, many situations now.

Ponzi scheme for sure
It's starting to resemble a Ponzi scheme. They need new orders to get the old ones out. I'm hoping I'm not a the tail end of the Ponzi scheme. Man this sucks. And today I found out from the BFL chat room that BFL is in fact managed by convicted criminals. I didn't verify this which is why I left it out of the OP but nobody objected when this was brought up so it may be true. One this is for sure, BFL was the top dog in this sector for the last 2 years and they were behaving arrogant, rude and cruel at times and their customers are not their priority - shipping bulk chips next month proves that if their attitude towards disgruntled customers and jacking their prices by nearly double didn't. They were behaving like a monopoly much too soon and maybe now they see with all the new competition that future profits won't be as juicy as they have been and not to mention everyone hates them. Given Their shitty attitude and reputation towards their customers anything is possible with these guys. I'm surprised, Vlad, that you weren't aware of Sonny Vleisides background.

1) pre orders on an unproven product that hasn't even had a prototype 2) pre orders with a company who hasn't even shipped all their previous pre order from their last disaster, which came after their first disaster (FPGAs were late) 3) non refundable pre orders with a company facing legal action 4) pre orders on a flashy new product from a company who $%^&ed up the actual imaginary spec on their previous product which ended up needing WAY more power per chip and each chip delivered WAY less hash per chip due to the heat. 5) Result of 4) is money being claimed back, and far higher expenses and having to pay employees for a loooong time without actually really finishing the sales they made a year earilier
IF BFL ever deliver anything that is even 50% of what they have just started marketing I'll be EXTREMELY surprised
