Is 2018 the downfall of bitcoin?

*Newbie Here!* Because of fluctuations in the value of bitcoin, is 2018 going to be the biggest downfall of bitcoin? What do you think?

Every year starting all the markets are down for example gold, dollar etc. But cryptocurrency is affected in some trading issues in two countries so majority of the investors are jump to some other altcoins so Bitcoin value is down in the market. This is just simple issues so everything is solve in few more weeks. In 2018 also Bitcoin is raise in the market so all the investors are hold your Bitcoin.

Yeah usually this is the norm in a market place were price go down in the start of year, but  I have foreseen a that in the next few months BTC will pump up even more higher that you ever seen this year, crypto currency market will be more aggressive this year because of last year success even though there  are short coming but in general it was a huge success.

On the contrary, it seems like a good start for the year to me. The mempool is getting empty, fees are getting low again, Lightning network is around the corner. I couldn't be more optimistic.

Fluctuations of bitcoin is really a normal things in crypto world if you will just checked the price history. Recently i searched the price history and every start of the year and at the end of the year always goes on a positive side. Right now value is unpredictable, but soon it will be at its peak again.

it is not an old technology that has been around for years to now be out of date. it is the brand new technology that has come here to start replacing some old systems.
and right now it is doing just that. but in this route there will be a lot of bumps on the road.

I think so. The downfall because of the issue in south korea makes bitcoin correction is the most down ever.
I hope starting now bitcoin and other cryptocurrency will recover again like last year so we can still have profit.

well, in 2018 we can see the prize of btc going down it is effecting to the other crypto also we can see the chart only some are fine and some are giving average if u will camper to 2014 and 2105 you will get the information what was happen that time its seems like that now in that years also the prize of btc had gone very low people are worries about btc what will happen in the future but if people are connected with the btc then something is there because people are not weak people who are strong they never loos anything 2018 the market of btc little down but not going loos anything just i will suggest to the people be strong and think about it positive and keep it on hold it will come again on good prize and the born of btc will be tight and strong its all risky but believe me never fall down so keep going wonderful market is coming soon in front of you all

Welcome to bitcoin. It's start of the year and it's a timing that you have seen and witnessed the quick big dump. But it doesn't mean that this year will be the biggest downfall to bitcoin. People who started bitcoin on 2013 witnessed that year's big dumped too and they told that's the biggest disaster happened to bitcoin but after that scenario everything went well, bitcoin literally fly to the moon. By telling "just believe in bitcoin" will not be enough for a newbie like you but this is normal, you'll see a quick rise too.

Personally i think it will og up a lot. Who knows, in the future it can of course "crash", but i dont see that coming any time soon. 4th quarter of 17 there was a great adoption, before the whales sold and people panic sold. Thats what happens everytime. Right now there has been alot of bad news, and FUD, but when it has stabilized, like maybe it has now, the upswing will start again, and the whales will have doubled their portfolio. Then the bullride starts and the price will skyrocket once more.

Great time to buy, BTC is now cheap.

Of course not, you really are a newbie, there are threads that explained this already, ever heard of bitcoin volatility? Those flunctuation in bitcoin price are inevitable, that is how bitcoin goes, it is how the system works, sometimes the price is high, that is when you should sell and when the price dive to low, that is when you should invest or buy. The downfall you are seeing now is actually an opportunity to buy more bitcoin. After it rebounded, that is you chance to earn more. Do not panic by those downfall.

I dont think so hype on bitcoin is still ongoing sooner or later price will surge again to its previous highs. Bitcoin downfall is just a set back but im pretty sure it wil bounce back. 2018 is good year to invest in bitcoin lets all go to the moon.

I think the rise of bitcoin is a long term trend. A small dip after many years of consecutive dip does not mean that it is the end of bitcoin as much as the mainstream media would like you to believe

2018  hasn't even seen January  end and you are predicting  the end of bitcoin because of flactuaions  of its price. History  data of bitcoin have seen bitcoin  dipped  than we see today. Is too early to make such predictions.

The first thing that we need to understand is that the success of the cryptocurrency market depends on the number of the investors that are willing to push the boundaries of using blockchain technology, as of today bitcoin is the most expensive and popular digital currency to ever dominate the market, but still we don't own everything and we would never know the thinking of everyone so still there was no assurance of everything.

Downfall is a big word.  The consistent dropping of bitcoin price this past days cannot be considered as downfall.  Bitcoin is still alive and its price is still going up.  Comparing its price before to its currentprice we can say that it is still high.
