Is 2018 the downfall of bitcoin?

I don't really think so , on the contrary , 2018 it will be a huge year for all of the world of cryptocurrecy
because in 2017 , a small media coverage give us those huge roi
But in 2018 , when those people who know about crypto in 2017 will enter into it in 2018 , that's give to the market a great opportunity

It will not be the biggest downfall of bitcoin as this have happened in the past numerous times. You can always do your research first and check the past data regarding BTC. Though the is not exactly the same, you could see that they are somehow similar to what's happening right now with the cryptomarket. We experienced a huge price spike last year and this correction is so much anticipated by the veteran traders. People are being shaken out by the market makers and weak hands will suffer in the end.

Here on the forum I have met an opinion that 2018 is new 2013 for bitcoin, but I think it is just speculative step to make newbies scared to they sell their founds. When you take a look on the bitcoin's graphic of past few years you will see that beginning of the year usually was tough for bitcoin, but in spring it always followed stabilization and new raise. So, I am calming waiting for spring and for new price's records.

I think it is just only in the mind of people, because 2017 is a great year for bitcoin that pushes it to meet to the highest value, and this time is 2018, its just a mindset of people that whenever bitcoin's value falls, it is really a downfall because they were just overwhelmed in previous highest prices and make it basis everytime there is a decrease in prices.

No it will not, bitcoins started with 10k dollar this 2018 and it only means that the value will keep on increasing and maybe it will end on 20k dollar before it reached 2019 this year. I believe that bitcoins do really have a future since there are a lot of new investors each day that is joining the community of cryptocurrency.

For me this is a hard time to watch it decline as I have many alts that have droped even lover. For bitcoin, yes 10K is low now from this perspective, but if someone asked me 1 year ago would 10K be great.. I would say it is a dream. Where from now, well probably lower until it starts to go up again.. but it will be slow process. it might go down slowly for few more weeks, even months. I hope it wont, and as most of us here I want 20k, 30k.. but not sure when it will happen.

Let glory fall upon cyrpto currencies. Bitcoin will resume again and be on its track again in a month. 2018 is going to set a history for crypto currencies. You can see the history of 2 years lately. This also happened in the previous year in January, for some reason, the price has decreased drastically. Regardless of the news that might affect the price, it makes people more doubtful, that bitcoin is indeed an asset that can be manipulated by its rise and decline. Because this is not the first time this has happened. But if viewed as a whole, even though prices continue to fluctuate, the increase in value every time is very clear, therefore, I do not think this year going to be the biggest downfall.

we all know about this stuff and even the op knows this already but i think hes just asking if 2018 is a bad year for bitcoin due to its sudden downfall that seems to become more stagnant day by day. we also know that bitcoin recently pump and dump on the year 2017 but it only dump because of the holidays or seasonal events like christmas and new year and we all expected that bitcoin will have a comeback on 2018 but unfortunately it did not even though there are no holidays or special events bitcoin has still continue to decrease.

Let's not jinx it. But the fluctuations we have on bitcoins now is healthy, as far as I know. The way I see it, the price crash today is a gateway for newbie investors to get into bitcoins. So I think, at some point of the price crash, some whale might pump the price so high, to encourage more investors in the fray.

In 2017 Bitcoin started with 1 BTC= $700 and at the end date of 1 BTC = $13600. Then 2018 started with $14000 so lets think what will happen , my openion it will be a surprise profit waiting for its investor.

I'm thinking that what could happen to bitcoin this year is that price might not fluctuate much and the increase would be minimal compared to what was witnessed last year ending. The news going on in Asia is drawing the coin backward too.
