The issue with most people is that they only act when their portfolio is in decline, but only line in the hype world when the price is dipping, profit management is very important this place, just a simple thing to do, buy low and sell high, but simple thing doesn't mean this is easy thing to do

If you are a long term investor or just invested in cryptocurrency right before the price starting to fall then on such situations the better would be for you to stay away from all this, take a little vacation and leave your coins in your wallet. Come back a few days later when the market is in good shape! That's the best way to relief yourself from all these FUD, panic etc. HODL is always a great strategy but for traders it is whole different story.

If you are afraid to hold in the face of bearish market condition ,then as you said you can set a stop  loss price level where you can get out of the market to stop further loss. It is a very good trading strategy.

That's the confidence we all need, especially right now when the propaganda and FUDs against bitcoin and altcoins around every corner of the globe keep coming back at the cryptocurrency world. The thing is, in the last 5 month people in this sector have become a lot stronger, awareness have been raised among the bitcoin and altcoins investors against all the negativities from China's weird regulation every now and then to North Korean trying to manipulate the market to top Economic experts naive comments on btc. The commonly known tactics that I've known that most of the crypto enthusiast do especially this time when the market is falling is to hold on their crypto currencies which are under valued and wait for the exact time for those crypto currencies to be able to increase it's market values so that they can also be able to get back all that they had invested on that crypto currency and as much as possible gain profits also.

The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.

I think keep calm is the best way right now. You should not worry or panic. But if you want to buy, it is also a good choice. So, you keep it until the price is rising up again. I think you already get the good tactic. I know you can not earn money right now but you are not lose anything. Just keep calm and wait, so you can get more profit in the next few months.

Its simple,use margin trade on bitffinex and short the coins you think that will go down and this way you can earn while market is going down.Other optioins are ethier sell it if you think it will go down more and buy back at lower prices or just hodl as most of the times price comes back it only depends how long you need to wait

Is there any other tactic mate? I think there's one and only one. Just be patient, calm down, and just hold your coins. That's the move there is. I think the concept of holding, although it is patient-testing, is the best thing to do to avoid a loss. Since you know how much you have invested in for your holdings, then you should know that if you would trade it on a point where the value is low that you can only get a loss. The difference with this market with other market is that we can't all seem to know when it will rise or fall. However, if you know when to do your business, then you could avoid having so much of a loss or losing at all.

Bear markets suck. Sit on your hands or just go away for awhile....nothing to do about it but scalp all day. No fun. I spent last two downcycles hunting ICOs and reading whitepapers then made out like a bandit in MCO and TaaS.
