The Merit system is so unfair, Now I need to earn 149 Merits just to level up, But there are very people who give Merits. I am still hoping that this Merit system will change.

You came to this forum from the Philippines to make money because one of your friends told you about it. You’re not a coder so you can’t help with the dev&tech side of it, you’re not an investor or a startup business operator because you came here to make money, you’re not here to discuss your intrigue over this groundbreaking technology. The merit system is unfair because you’re not here for the right reasons.

Hello, for the first time I read the title of your topic me directly interested to read more detail, because I want to raise my rating, but after I read all,i have so doubt that you will help me because almost the entire content of posts I discuss altcoin and you are right that I have not understand bitcoin to much, I only have to know that here is pleasure place for WORK and than make the money,
You’re worse than just someone that supports altcoins over bitcoin. You are a bounty hunter that is here to destroy any semblance of normal discourse on this forum.

I don't qualify for your rules, but I like what you are doing. You are helping to move around the merit points because you can and you have set forth a criteria. That would have been a better way for them to roll out the system. I hope more people like you launch these types of threads. I'm a BTC guy. Not 100% but it's really the only safe long play, as time has shown us all.

I'll give this a shot I guess. My history in bitcoin revolves around casinos/ gambling so I don't know if you consider that a good thing or a bad thing. I mean the dark web and gambling did help bitcoin become what it is today. I'm a bitcoin supporter but lately a lot of online casinos force me to use eth or ltc sometimes so I'm kind of stuck with that problem.
Yes I do support eth heavily so I don't know if you consider me a traitor. Right now eth isn't really considered an alt, the 2 main cryptos are btc/ eth.

Hi QuestionAuthority, Just found this topic and will try my luck here. I am a Full Member and unfortunately the Merit system was introduced just before I would have become a Sr. member. So as a Full Member you need +150 Merit to get a Sr. Member. - That’s a rocky path. I also have lots of bounty campaign report posts in my history, please ignore them. (I am student ) Already noticed that you have a problem with Bounty participants. I generally don’t think that I kind of destroy the conversations in this forum. The Bounty stuff all happens in separated Threads and I of course be part in everyday discussions, helping people etc. Here are some of my posts I picked. Hope you find some of them valuable: btc will not die: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4516435.msg40976452#msg40976452Teaching students about crypto: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4548119.msg40975257#msg40975257Decentralized fiat exchange: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4543559.msg40972090#msg40972090People about btc: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4546875.msg40967922#msg40967922Explanation about bitcoins energy consumption: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4508317.msg40756749#msg40756749Explanation about btc PoW, rewards and transaction fees: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4493182.msg40693846#msg40693846topic about biggest btc mistake: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4445420.msg40677459#msg40677459Who is Satoshi: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5951.msg40820812#msg40820812https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5951.msg40975903#msg40975903Answered a question about Masternodes: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4454117.msg40675292#msg40675292Created a Topic for Beginners, how they can protect themselves from scam: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4264404.msg38516668#msg38516668A Scam Warning – It’s about POTJ token (Trevon James is included who also advertised bitconnect): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4497646.msg40475876#msg40475876This thread doesn’t get very much recognition. You are a seriously diseased gambler. LOL I’ve seen your support of ETH and it does seem to revolve around gambling. Is there any function of ETH that you think cannot be solved by bitcoin? What is making you support ETH? Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Vitalik Buterin. He used to be Mr. Bitcoin back in the day. He wanted to be able to have single handed control and bitcoins open source hierarchy wouldn’t let him do that. He’s definitely a very bright kid and bitcoin would be better off without him as a competitor.

I understand you’re a student trying to make extra money and I can appreciate that. There are lots of online ways to make money besides this forum. Those Twitter and Facebook campaigns are hurting bitcoin because they are making those companies stop allowing crypto advertising. I see that you have tried to be helpful (and were rewarded for it). That’s a good thing and you should continue that effort. It makes you feel good to know you’ve helped someone even if there is no immediate reward. Unfortunately, in your case the bad outweighs the good by several magnitudes. I’m sorry but I can’t help you. Thanks for stopping by.

Really nice what you are doing. I dont qualify for this, but I will definitely come back once I become a full member. I have been in a lot of forums and I have never seen this merit system. It is kinda strange. I get why bitcointalk is doing it, and it seems fair. But I have noticed it is way too complicated to earn merits. Most people dont even care about it, so they see a good post and "forget" to give some merit. I have been even told "thanks a lot", but no merit Anyway, I hope more people like you would do this kind of "merit giveaway"

Some of the biggest idiots on this forum are Legendary rank. Most of the real badassed scammers, crooks and thieves are Legendary and date back to the very first days of this forums inception.

Completely agree. It is absurd that a scammer can have a Legendary rank. This could be easily avoided by implementing "negative merits". Maybe those "negative merits" could be given only by legendary rank or something like that, in order to avoid spam or something similar (like bcash-reddit-spammers ).

There is such a thing it is the negative trust given out. So if you are dealing with somebody check their trust rating and also look into untrusted feedback, check the reference. Take untrusted with a grain of salt though as it can often be retaliatory. Sorry for the Off-topic.

What I meant is that by using it myself, I'm actually supporting it. When I make payments online some people will only take ethereum now. The whole rollback with the Eth Classic situation really turned me off ethereum. Eth has such a large attack surface, hundreds of millions of dollars have been lost to faulty code. All of these "ICOs" (99 percent are scams) are on ethereum so it's not like its going away anytime soon. I think most of these token projects are pointless and it's really diluting the crypto space. People are putting shit on blockchain that has no reason to be there except for them to make money off the hype.

I generally don't think that these bounties hurt bitcoin or the forum. Because you miss the ads? Hope you are kidding. Bounties bring way more people into crypto than you might think. It’s a win-win situation for both the startup company and their audience. Sorry but I can't see your problem here. Also the signature campaigns are in general a good thing. Just think about it: There are strict rules to follow, like e.g. make 10 constructive posts with min 100 char. So the people try to make high quality content and also help each other. It is human nature that you want to rise in rank if that is possible. To me it looks like you only support bitcoin. If you would close the Altcoin Section in this Forum and ban bounty campaigns I guarantee that it will be very quiet here. I already met a lot of people in this forum, who only support bitcoin and nothing else. Better take a step back and see the big picture. The Blockchain is here to stay and that includes not only bitcoin. Of course >90% of these projects which pop up daily, won't survive the next five years but I can easily name you 10 current projects with a real world use case, which could be a big success. No problem if you don't want to give me Merit, I am here anyways. Just wanted to give it a try. But don't tell me that the Bad outweights the Good (by several magnitudes) only because of my twitter report posts. I am maybe 1 Miner out of 10 in my local board who is regularly helping beginners getting started. I be part in daily discussions and already contributed a lot of quality content. Don't point the finger at me only because of some twitter bounties. Anyway have a nice day.

aundroid I respect your opinion and hope you do well on the forum. Based on your post above I suspect you will. I might tend to agree with you if I believed the “startup companies” you mention were something more than a kid in his basement using one of the below sites to make a worthless scamcoin that will further degrade the reputation of bitcoin. You need nothing but the desire to rip people off to create a coin or token today. These new “coin devs” know nothing about cryptography, nothing about coding, nothing about business, and (if they’re 15 yo like I suspect most of them are) nothing about life in general. https://coinlaunch.market/coincreator/?bing=1https://www.cryptocoincreator.comhttps://lifehacker.com/how-to-create-your-own-cryptocurrency-1825337462https://build-a-co.inhttps://cryptonotestarter.orgSignature campaigns and bounty hunting are not a good thing for the forum. They bring kids here that have absolutely no ability to contribute (because they know nothing) and they taint the opinions about cryptocurrency for all of the people that are ripped off. Those people worldwide will forever believe cryptocurrency is nothing but a scam. I would rather see this forum get one really good post a day rather than a thousand worthless bounty hunter posts from impoverished children that know nothing about life.
