Best competitors to Ethereum?

Which are the best competitors to Ethereum, and why do you think so?

(I know on top of my head that Cardano and IOTA try to challenge Ethereum,
although they still haven't proved much from my understanding?)

This year too many new ICO's coming in NEO, I think the biggest competitor of Ethereum is NEO.
Thekey, Nex and Pikciochain are 3 ICO's I can count on NEO blockchain.
There are also other competitors but my favorite is NEO. They have Chinese backing, it might be the next big thing in 2018.

some say neo and I agree with this. I vow also add the ripple. It is a good altcoin and some said that it can not bitcoin.

Neo seems like the closest one to Ethereum but cause they are already have a working platform and they also already have a few icos that use neo blockchain although it is still a few but people seems optimistic about that. There are others like cardano or eos but they still have a long way to go until they can compete with ethereum.

Actually there are no competitors as I thinking,  But price may increase any other coins before Ethereum.
Such as DASH is a good coin, it has nice value (tha is now $632.54). It can be up from Ethereum.
If you say LTC, it can go.
Probably some coins get high price than Etherem,

Personally, I think that ETH there are no competitors. BTC and ETH the best of its kind

Ethereum found Vitalik said himself last year, the competitor to Ethereum is Ethereum, the successor to Ethereum is Ethereum. All the others who want to compete and bill themselves as Chinese ETH or Korean ETH should really look at themselves and ask, why are we competing with the victor? Why not differentiate and let the users decide what is good for them? Performance should speak for the product, not marketing. But that aside, personally, Waves and Stratis. Not Neo, Not Ripple, those two far too centralized for my liking.

NEO is a newer coin that the people in Asia like to hype up because it's on most Asian exchanges. If it weren't for that then it wouldn't be a competitor for Ethereum.

You didn't give any reason why NEO can moveover ETH from the top. That way the same can be said about any other altcoin. What is the argument for NEO?

I think that the main token which should Eth holders a bit worried is EOS. if they do what they say they can then it might just destroy the dominance which Ethereum has in the smart contract platform.

IMO EOS is loosing too much credibility with its year long ICO that is both a trap and a negligent way of managing. EOS value is too linked to Ehereum at this point due to that.

If i am going to choose for best competitor to ethereum i think RiPPLE and Cardano will compete againsts Ethereum . Now that Ripple and Cardano starting to rise they will reach Ethereum in the upcoming next month . RIPPLE  has steadily rises in the past days. The same on Cardano it also rises .RIPPLE price increases 10% according to some news that one good reason why it is a good competitor againsts Ethereum.

If you'd wish to keep the discussion on the crypto sphere I would guess NEO would be the number one challenger. Perhaps EOS if it delivers what promised.

I think LTC will become a serious competitor with ETH. If they did what promised with litecoin, it would not be accidental to assume that if ETH was gold on the crypto market, LTC would be silver. Of course, the views expressed are general. We may need some time to figure it out.

Ethereum is a powerful platform and a unique project. The price of ethereum will be much higher.Bitcoin, Ripple, Cardano, Ethereum Classic, Vechain, KUcoin Shares. NEO  XLM all those are higly potential .no one knows what will happen in future.

I think biggest competitor to ethereum is currently neo. But eos, waves and even komodo may be included in this list in future if they can complete their HUGE promises. Especially eos is very big.

Like others have said, NEO seems like a pretty strong coin but I don't think it's gonna come close to eth any time soon. Maybe in the future.

I see NEO as the main competitor of the ether. In addition, potential of NEO  is maintained at the state level in China, and this is huge resources. On the other hand, the state and decentralization are very bad. But everything goes to the fact that governments will intervene in the cryptocurrency
