Zefir did various groupbuys and mining projects in the past.

He did a great job solving the Avalon gen 1 chip disaster.

His post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.msg3029465#msg3029465
convinced yifu to refund the orders.

Nobody in his groupbuy lost a single sathosi because of his efforts.

I believe he is doing the same thing here.

I don't doubt zefirs workethics and what he has done for the community.

But he is totally holding the line for bitmine now. Don't expect any criticism coming from him from now on.

He is already starting to downplay legitimate concerns....

Yip seen it and it means diddly squat. Until machines start being delivered to customers and they start hashing at 1Th/s, then I'm afraid the word of BITMINE is worth less than a fart in the wind.

BFL were aptly named Big F**king Liars, I wonder what BITMINE stands for?

I believe in Bitcoin!

But all these scam preorders manufacturers undermine all Bitcoin community.

And do not give to become a mass that states would never have been able to influence the community!

I am waiting for a time when actual electronic manufacturers like sony, panasonic, etc start to build bitcoinminers.

Until then it feels the same like when you are forced to buy your drugs from some shaddy dealer on the black market...

How come the situation is like that?

That is exactly the point. Why do you highlight KnC as the only successful company delivering (almost) as promised? I tell you why: they were the only one where the PCB was designed by the same company that did the chip. They knew exactly what to do to get the chip hashing as soon as put on the board. Everybody else had to go over (numerous) prototype revisions to learn the chip and adapt the HW - this is what is happening here. HashFast are no idiots, CoinTerra are not, and Bitmine engineers are neither.

This part of your reply Zefir answered several open questions imho;
to be forced to do and redo PCB designs takes a lot of time of course.
You have shown outstanding engagement on this forum and I do trust your statements even though you might be biased as a shareholder.

Any kind of improvement regarding transparency is very welcome.

The problem is - the damage is already done.
Difficulty exploded and 2,5 months in bitcoin time is and has been a lot.

It´s no proven business model companies can rely on. Big companies rather buy startups like e.g. Bitmine when the model gets proven over time.

Hi Zefir

I really do appreciate your updates here in this forum.
Given the current spirit in this thread I was concerned that you won't come back here  Undecided
And actually I do appreciate your involvement in bitmine, this way we got/get some insights which we would have wished to recieve through official channels.

This transparency does not come for free. It needs someone to collect the information and present it - which can only be done by Giorgio right now who has to take care on a ton of other things.
yes thats true.
However I would have expected that they have someone who does take care of the customers without contributing to (but being informed about) the HW/SW dev process.
This does not have to be a full blown PR department but one guy handeling the customer communication and support the executives in the area of project management.
Because usually, if shit hits the fan, you would need the tech and the "other" guys working at least 150%, which would not only be to much if one guy "wearing both hats", but in such projects phases you would need the tech guys to be able to do nothing else than solving the tech stuff - and the "other" guy brings them their coffee if necessary...
I would be happy to contribute to this company and apply to open needs in the area of project management myself, but Ticino is kind of the at "wrong" end of switzerland Smiley.

You'll find hard working engineers who can't do their real job because their mobile is ringing every 20 seconds.
If these are really direct "end customer" calls, this is really bad, and should be (or should have been) prevented at any cost.
...and does actually support the point I just made above.

My idea would be to have something like
a) weekly status updates
b) immediate announcement if previously stated deadlines can not be met

Is this something we could start with?

Great idea, and if I remember correctly very similar suggestions have been already made by some guy(s) in this thread - I just can't remember his name Wink
The only change request: I would make it twice a week, lets say Monday and Wednesday or Thursday, depending on if the guys are working over the Weekends.
And these updates should not only be like: "expect shipping by the end of this week" or "video comming up next week" but also include a bit more background what problems bitmine is dealing with at the moment (e.g. power consumption, heat dissipation, waiting for the new boards revision, etc.)
This would be highly appreciated (at least by me) since as you said:
This transparency does not come for free.

PS to all others: I do hope to get a video of a working rig on the beginning of next week. So let's see what Monday/Tuesday will bring up.

I do also want to have my miner and I do also "lose" bitcoins every day.
But you can't change anything about the fact not having one - at least not with posts in this thread.
The only thing you probably can achieve is make them keeping their customers updated

as a comparison:
In case you promised your boss to deliver a central software module for the fancy new application by the beginning of February, but you're still not there for whatever reason, it does not change anything (and does not help at all) if your senior managers keep shouting at you and call you names.

However they can ask you to keep them updated about your progress and what you are struggeling with at the moment.
They could also try to support you by getting a working collegue to help you (or they support you directly) but this obviously does not apply in this given case - with the exception of Zefir...
