I've completely missed out on this. Interesting deal indeed, the idea is great.
However I do not agree with the ones saying that Off-topic shouldn't be worth anything. If you really look at it, there sometimes tend to be great discussions of value in it. However, posts like in that thread where you only post a single image, or word games should be nullified.

Now that I realize it, off-topic is probably more valuable in terms of post quality than games and rounds. Off-topic has some pretty good discussions in it, but I see why they don't pay. Some have nothing to do with bitcoin, but games and rounds has things like giveaways, and sometimes are related to gambling so I see the logic there.

When I'm posting, a lot of my posts are in off topic and other type areas of the forum.  Since I don't know a great deal about bitcoin, I tend just to read the threads since I don't have a great deal to add to those discussions.  I do obviously ask the odd question, but questions tend to generally be short.

Here's the forum sections and what they will be 'worth' for posting in. This is relevant to the decided payout for your user group. As in if your a full member and your getting 0.0009 per post, 3 points will be 0.0009, 2 points will be 0.0006 and 1 point will be 0.0003.

Campaign is still not open yet, just letting everyone know the values of sections beforehand!

Hope that makes sense!

Finally. This actually makes sense now. The most spam that happens are in those sections so you clearly did think this through. But I have a feeling there will be such a huge focus on the gambling perspective of the site with spam posts. Strategically, I understand why it's the highest paying, but perhaps other sections should be included too. Sections where BTC is spent, mainly the market place.

I agree that gambling shouldn't be the only 3 point. There could be some other sections that are also relevant to this. Marketplace, maybee digital goods would be a good place.

Surprised that local foruns worth only 1 point.
I must admit that these sections have less people than the rest, but this is a very restrict part of the forum since its closed to the speakers of the language.

Just fine tuning things at the moment. Shouldn't be too long.

Enrollments won't be closing so if you're worried about being enrolled in another campaign and having to forfeit payment there to sign up, you shouldn't be.

As i said earlier,  off-topic board shouldnt be paid at all. Only spammers visit that section and anyone hardly reads whatever has been previously written by the forum users. People just post random things over there and noone is gonna view pd's signature over there(except for other signature spammers). So stop paying off-topic board posts and stop SPAM.

Agreed. Off topic gets a bad rap but it's only really the spammy pointless threads in there that shouldn't be counted. I barely post in there anymore but have had some pretty good discussions in the past. I wonder if there would be a way to add certain threads to the bot so they're not counted at all or maybe posts under a certain word count (say 5 or so)?

Surprised that local foruns worth only 1 point.
I must admit that these sections have less people than the rest, but this is a very restrict part of the forum since its closed to the speakers of the language.

Sadly it's easier to spam and go unnoticed in the Local boards due to lack of moderation. The Chinese section had a massive problem with bots that were building their post count up in there.

If anyone else has suggestions about some sections being unfairly allocated points and you think it'd be beneficial to change, let me know here Smiley

I think the Staff forum should be worth 5 points  Cheesy.

I agree with this and think it could potentially lead to problems. Some people will obviously push themselves to post as many posts they can or even exclusively post in there and cause flooding, though that may be good from an advertising perspective, but I personally don't think more posts in that section is going to necessarily equal more direct hits and people have just as much chance of seeing and clicking on a link anywhere else. Wouldn't it be better to just put Gambling with the 2 pointers? You'll still get plenty of people posting in there but just as normal and I think having the forum blanketed in PD ads everywhere as it was previously is better than having them flooded in certain sections and is overall a better strategy.

As i said earlier,  off-topic board shouldnt be paid at all. Only spammers visit that section and anyone hardly reads whatever has been previously written by the forum users. How do you know any of this? Any stats to back the claims up? Seems to be wholly opinion, one I'd largely disagree with.

Make that 10. Also make the bot ignore a few of those threads that are known. Like the counting one, the ones with games and such.

Awesome,

I wonder how much time you guys put into this brainstorm and who all were a part of it. This is a very unique way of paying per post and will ensure better quality posts in sections that would bring you more business. Hats off to whoever was a part of this discussion and formulated this points system. I think this system should be used by all signature campaigns (ofc tweaked to their own requirements).

Its my opinion too that Off Topic should be excluded when tallying up the post count on payday. No useful discussion ever happens there and an OT discussion allows people to add so may unwanted posts to the threads. Should be avoided imo.

Okay, so here are some facts :
- right now these are the top 4 posts on off topic board- 1. TV Series Recommendations... 2. What are your HOBBIES? 3. My favorite drink is........... 4. Breast Wishes for Xmas NSFW.
- Mindset of people(spammers) when they open these threads : " WoW BREAST wishes! Yay! Imma watch some porn pics and jerk off, then i am gonna post my favourite tv show in tv recommendation thread. And ofc my hobby is playing football! And i love redbull!"
- What will people post in these threads - 1. Big Bang Theory! 2. Playing football 3. Redbull 4. Mhmm nice breasts!
Now these few words will make up 4 posts and noone is ever going to read any of the post that this guy made in these threads and so pd's signature for these posts will get unnoticed.
You will be paying 0.0012btc for 4 of such posts, suppose he makes 10 posts like this weekly, he gets  0.012btc for these posts. Now 50 people more enrolled in your campaign post 10 more posts like this. Now pd will be paying out 0.6btc just for useless off topic posts that bring no traffic to the website(they also do not hepp in brand name build up).

What do you mean by 'top posts' exactly? I think you're being pretty selective with the ones you chose to emphasize your point. The Breast Wishes for Xmas NSFW hasn't been posted in since 11am this morning and it's not exactly got many views (less than 1000) whereas the TV topic has got 28393. I'm not denying that there are many spammy threads in off-topic but spammers can spam post anywhere, so why penalise everyone? I and many others have had fairly in depth discussions about TV shows and movies etc (and in other off-topic threads) and not just listed a few names then left. Also, if there's some kind of word count then that should discount those who just post short rubbish, but also don't forget people who repeatedly make shitty posts anywhere will be booted off the campaign.

I still don't think you can claim that no-one is going to read the post in a specific thread or how much traffic off-topic posts are going to bring in and this is still just opinion. I don't think a person even needs to read a specific post as even just glancing over the thread the big, bold red/blue PD logo still grabs your attention. You could also make the argument that somebody could ignore a 200 word informative post in Bitcoin Discussion but yet click on a link under somebody who has just listed a few TV shows in off-topic. It's down to sheer chance when and where a person clicks on a users signature and this is why the best results in terms off traffic is to have the forum covered in ads. Let's also not forget that many newbies post in off-topic and it's newcomers who we want to target.

Stop considering 'Off-topic' part of the forum as the "Spammers club". It is simply a place made for everything that is not related to Bitcoin/Altcoin/Forums.
This does include 'useless threads', but it doesn't mean that they are the only ones in it.

How do you know any of this? Any stats to back the claims up? Seems to be wholly opinion, one I'd largely disagree with.

Okay Accepted that off topics can also attract a person's attention and everyone doesnt spam over there. Just had a question, so as things will get automatic, a bot will check all the post and other things, so will the bot also check the post for specific number of letters in a post? If this is possible then it would be really great!

Also i was wondering that why is the campaign being restarted? Did hufflepuff fill you guys with more enthusiasm to rebuilt the profit?

....
Thanks, I agree. We'll change that one too.

If anyone else has suggestions about some sections being unfairly allocated points and you think it'd be beneficial to change, let me know here Smiley

Hi ,

I think all the local forums it should be paid at least 2 point , it is only a suggestion ( Or at least 1,5 point).

Thanks for the attention .
