Matt, we don't want apologies. We want ANSWERS. Specifically, the thread I posted on your forum entitled "We want answers"
Still waiting..

+1

That's the ONLY way to save BA's reputation a little.

Stop pre-ordering!  Break your addiction cycle.

Will never happen. People, collectively, will "waste" computing resources regardless. For example: http://www.distributed.net/RC5. Yes, I spent countless CPU years on that as did thousands of other people. All crypto currency is is just an extension of that which makes it possible, although not always probable, to break even on the cost of the hardware. See also SETI@home, Prime95, Folding@home, and dozens of other similar projects. You can't ignore the addiction factor, and no amount of convincing people of negative ROI will help.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to take a second to say I'm sorry about everything.

Thank you for that. I know it has to be frustrating from your side as well.

The WPC members are bit saddened by this news we were really looking forward to some Minion chips to play with and really push our board design in Feb/Mar. I do think 25% is not nearly enough of an incentive to loyal first batch buyers. That really has to be looked at again by Black Arrow the difficulty is not going to magically flatline more likely that line will shoot vertical again on the Y axis as we see more chips / miners hit the market.

Sad to hear about the delay, although I must admit that it's not a big surprise, given what I've seen occurring before with other companies.

I also realize that when something isn't working right and cannot be altered in time, other compromises unavoidably follow. Some customers would rather accept a quirky or less efficient product, delivered sooner (I for example, within certain limits, would prefer a less efficient miner sooner, since below a certain wattage, I produce my own electricity from solar energy at no cost) ...while other customers would prefer a more efficient product later.

Once initial promises cannot be adhered to, there also arises the trouble of some people accepting one or another proposed compromise plan... while others aren't satisfied with such arrangements. This causes hassle... negotiating, arguing, refunding orders... all of which either subtracts from work spent towards finished products, or overloads people who carry the burden of customer support.

In the current situation, I am inclined to wait. Thank you for this information. I wish it could have been released somewhat earlier. Also, thanks for the offer of 25% more hashing power when you get ready. Though I realize it may not cover the difference caused by delays, it seems acceptable and on my part, I accept it.

I hope that people at BA take all necessary measures to precisely and successfully reach distribution of products by May 1. I wish you success. Please be sufficently open about progress or setbacks. Early information helps alleviate doubts.

Yes, if they don't have enough hardware to do cloud mining, then a refund of a percentage of BTC spent for the items would be preferable. Another possibility I'd like to see: Take all their existing bitfury equipment off the shelf and put it into a pool for us, proportionately to our investment, starting hashing right now. This in addition to any compensation they already have agreed to or are considering.

What I would like to know is, who is the competition ?

I know there is BFL with their "Monarch", and frankly, that is the least of my concerns...

But what other company has next gen ASIC machines and what are their release dates ?

Delivered in a about a week: https://bitmaintech.com/product.htm

Who cares about "next gen". That's a worthless buzzword. All that matters is profitability.

Absolutely. In a  few months we'll be back up where we were. We WILL be successful in this launch.

Doubtful. In the rare chance BA eventually produces a product, it will be not be competitive with all the other options in the market.  Not to mention all the lies about the schedule. It's game over for BA. There's no point in continuing the project.

I take the risk preordering stuff, and I'm fine with that.  I've unfortunately been screwed over so many times in the Bitcoin space that I'm numb to it.

However, this May 1st date is troubling because it seems to be based on nothing.  Someone picked a date based on all the stars aligning.  I've been to this rodeo before.  We're going to be in December before this thing launches because they are going to have all kinds of other problems they didn't foresee or prepare for.  It's BFL all over again.  Whole thing is a waste of time.  They should just have built miners with AsicMiner's chips.  Now we're all screwed.  I'm chalking this one up to a total loss.  If something shows up at my door in May, I'll be surprised.  At this point, I suspect I won't see this thing ever or when I do it'll be useless for anything excepting heating my home.

Can everyone relax for a minute and take a deep breath?

I don't know what you all think you're doing here, but this game has risks in it, which you all are very much aware to.
And I'm saying it as someone who has 2 X-3 on order from November.

We all know the risks. We all know those are small companies who develop new technologies with estimations to when it will be ready.

Stop with all this bashing, going out of proportion will raise your blood pressure but it will sure not make BA deliver any faster.

I agree though, that the 25% compensation is not enough. BA has to take into some account the BTC's that we all lost.
I'm not saying they owe us the world, but we did put our faith in them, and we deserve more.

They dont say when the 25% compensation will start either...
When should we expect this promise to come to through?
Also I didnt even see matt make a public statement on the subject, just his apology (sorry if I missed it in the last 4 pages of bitching).

I personally just want to find out why they have been withholding the fact that they cannot deliver on 24th as they have been promising forever.
They should have been upfront and honest, but apparently that's a bit to much to ask in ASIC business.

the '25%' offered was 4 months of cloud mining. 4 months?? Whaaaa???

Should it not be 25% of the hashing power we bought times the difficulty increase between promised (paid for) delivery date and actual delivery date

This way if they deliver 2 months late the increase in hashing power will keep up with difficulty.

We are, however, still out 2 months of mining time but at least the machines hashing power will be as useful as if they delivered on time.

On another note, I kinda wished I had initially bought more X-1's and when I went to buy more I saw that 'available on 30 Apr 2014' message and changed my mind.

Now, however, I can by more and they will all come on the same day.

Is this flawed reasoning? Is this what happens after you chase down 2 strong coffee's with a Monster drink?

I blame bitcoin addiction, I just want new hardward dammit!  Tongue
