Did any of you with the broken USB connectors got an answer from crpytx?

I have a similar problem and I mailed him four days ago. But did not receive an answer.
I don't wont to start a disput with paypal.

Basically the solution is to glue or epoxy your remaining connectors so they don't break too and use a CANBUS cable. If all of your connectors are broken you can try to find someone skilled with a soldering iron to fix them or I guess send the boards back for repair.

I have not the USB port but another chip hanging loose. Board works, though.
I have no skills in soldering and I don't know anyone who has.
My problem is that I plan to resell the board on eBay in some weeks. And in this condition the resale value will be significant lower than with a 100% OK Board.

I can run it through my converted convection toaster oven reflow oven for you if you like.  No guarantees of course :-)

Can you still reflow cheese in it?

Receive 8 boards with nothing missing or falling apart except for a raspberry pi Cheesy

Right now I'm using windows cgminer 3.5.1 that can't set more than 32 miners in --avalon-options without crashing. Can't stack more than 3 miners using CAN-BUS or the performance drop to 10GH/s from almost 200GH/s. I gotta get those rpi from somewhere near Cheesy

Overall I'm having fun Tongue

jlsminingcorp,

One could try that if they wanted *BUT* irrespective of that it does boards REALLY well.  I've done a number of analog DIY projects in it where I had boards produced along with a matching solder stencil and then used the stencil to smear on solder paste, placed parts on the board and ran the reflow in my converted oven.  Viola, completed board.  All I'm saying is if someone wants me to *ATTEMPT* a reflow I can.  Or not ... whichever.

Just so we're clear if you *DID* want to do your own toaster oven converted to reflow oven here's how I did mine -> http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Soldering-Reflow-Oven/ .  Mine's accurate to within .5 degree F at all stages of the reflow operation  Grin .

Sorry, I made a silly joke Wink. It sounds really cool actually, and that's a fantastic how to guide.

There's a chef in the UK called Heston Blumenthal, who takes a "scientific" approach to cooking. I can imagine him doing the opposite to you and cooking cheese on toast in a real reflow oven! Maybe he'd use a p&p machine to put pickles on it Grin.

cryptx you promissed me shipping in the second week of October. Now that week has finished. No word on shipping, no word on refunds, nothing. So sad!

Wow! I wanted to move the miner to another room, pulled the usb cable gently and the whole port was torn apart.

I am quite annoyed that I bought a low-quality and overpriced product.

I received my Burnin Fury today but the fan isn't spinning.

Is this correct ? or does it start at a certain temp ?

I tested the fan and it's not dead.

Same thing happen to my fan but it will spin when mining started.
I power glue one side of the micro usb port, so far so good. Make sure you pull the usb cable head straight without shaking it left and right.

Has anyone got this to work with the MinePeon build

I have my MinePeon running with cgminer 3.5 but I am unable to get the bitburner-voltage option working correctly. no matter what I put it only runs at around 900 ++

Cheers

A hot air station,something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-IN-1-X-TRONIC-9020-XTS-HOT-AIR-REWORK-SOLDERING-IRON-STATION-FUME-EXTRACTOR-/110969755108
If you dont have one go to a mobile repair service and they will fix it for you.

Ok. Thank you for the info. I found a computer hardware repair service here in Cologne.
I guess when they say they do SMD soldering they surely will be able fix the USB port, right?

Sorry for my stupid questions but I am a total noob when we go down on the soldering level.

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!!  I just experienced the dreaded "I've pulled off the MiniUSB thingy from a board".  Good thing the CAN-BUS works out of the box for up to 4 boards.  Cryptx ... You either made a BAD, BAD mechanical engineering design decision when you chose mini-USB for your physical data interface (which is unlikely as that physical interface works just fine elsewhere)*OR* whomever you chose to do your PCB assembly is little more than an amateur hour shop.  Hell, my toaster oven converted to reflow oven does better reflow work that what was done on these boards.  DAMN dude Undecided

UPDATE 16/09/2013

Hashrate protection

These refunds will be given when the tested hashrate of the board is below 64 GH/s:

  • 100€ refund for each board

cryptx / burnin

Congratulations for the on-time delivery of a working product (which is not something to be underestimated!!); this cements your reputation for delivery of products on time.

However, please could you provide a refund of €100, or instructions on how to get the hashrate from ~50GH/s to >= 64GH/s asap?

Thanks very much

scotjam

Gents - when will refunds be provided? Sorry to chase, but we all know time is money here...

Thanks

scotjam
