DAMN, DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!!  I just experienced the dreaded "I've pulled off the MiniUSB thingy from a board".  Good thing the CAN-BUS works out of the box for up to 4 boards.  Cryptx ... You either made a BAD, BAD mechanical engineering design decision when you chose mini-USB for your physical data interface (which is unlikely as that physical interface works just fine elsewhere)*OR* whomever you chose to do your PCB assembly is little more than an amateur hour shop.  Hell, my toaster oven converted to reflow oven does better reflow work that what was done on these boards.  DAMN dude

I feel for you.

The way Cryptx is dealing with customer's trust is quite disturbing.
Looks like he isn't interested in selling mining hardware in the future.

Even better than a PayPal dispute, since I used my AmEx as the clearance instrument I just opened a charge dispute case with American Express.  Ya know, none of this would happen if they had just advertised accurate performance numbers and delivered product that DIDN'T fall apart.  Sure, they might not have sold as many units as fast BUT they also wouldn't be now dealing with charge disputes.

i saw the usb problem coming saw i tie wrapped the usb cable to one of the wholes on the board so it stays fixed in one position. i cd see it mving about and ripping off the usb port on the board, it  is crap quality by german standards.

still not going over 50ghs so refund is a must unless some magical firmware can fix the problem.

Hey cryptx ... if you're still on here I just sent you an email to info@cryptx.com explaining what I need you to do to make that American Express charge dispute go away.  Please answer that email and provide the response I request (i.e a replacement board for the one where the USB connector popped off under only the weight of the USB cable *AND* the EXACT cgminer options you used to get the boards to 64Ghash each).  It's GREAT that you delivered a product on time but DAMN dude .... you didn't deliver what you promised insofar as hash rate *AND* the hardware you did deliver is ULTRA LOW production quality

so i noticed that the board is being delivered on monday in week 3 vs week 1 as initially stated.. of course if the board is not within specs or the usb wll brake I will not even bother with crypx's awsome customer support and go straight to paypal asking for a full refund.

also don't forget to give apropriate feedback to the seller so that others don't get scammed and know what they are up against.

i would ask all people which are having problems with usb connector and low speed and payed via paypal to start a claim - so paypal will see that it is a mass-problem and not an single issue i produced. i got an answer on my paypal claim: cryptx writes that i want a complete refund because the market grows to fast and i didnt get ROI. but no word to the usb problem also no word about 100€ refund.

So I finally received my order. CAN-bus connection works after flashing the latest firmware, and all boards are hashing, average of 46 Gh/s per board with 47/282 and 1300mV. I'm seeing 4-5% hardware errors, temp hovers around 45 degrees C (input air ~5 deg C).

The build quality is so-so. USB ports have been re-soldered and seem to hold in place, but I'm still being careful with them. PCIe power connectors are firmly in place, but the green power terminal connectors are badly soldered. I had to fix 3 of them right off the bat because of cold solder joints. Also other through hole component soldering isn't that well done. Looks like an amateurish job.

Verdict: bad overall quality for a 700 euro item. Hashing well below what was promised, so I'll be asking for the refund of 100 euro per board. I wouldn't expect a firmware update alone could make these work at 64+ GH/s, sadly.

After 2 days my 8 boards stable at ~390GH/s using 272 and 1330 options. Thanks someone42 for the Windows cgminer that works great since official version doesn't work quite right. Overall I'm happy and waiting for my 600 euro refund

I'ts time to refund guys ... One week after batch 1 delivery and the hashrate is 50-51 GH/S max ...

The board should have hash to 64gh/s on delivery,  not 1 or 2 ,3 weeks after !

Note that for european customers (at least) the 100€ refund must be in 100€ + VAT = 120€

How did you re-solder the usb ports ?

None of mine were ripped off, so it was just to make sure they won't do that.

Procedure: heat gun to the back of the board to heat the area well (so solder will flow better and not just ball up) - the boards are quite efficient heat sinks. Then I applied some good (old!) leaded solder to the sides of the connector with a temp-controlled soldering iron @320 deg C. Then I left the board to cool, and added epoxy glue to the sides of the connectors as well, being careful to not get it inside.

Anybody here with a broken USB who was able to get the broken board working via CAN-BUS?

I have a problem problem and don't get an aswer from cryptx.

My 2 boards are connected via CAN-BUS, on both boards I have 2 jumpers.

When I start cgminer like this:

The "Idling 36 miners" is changing from time to time, always something between 34-37. When I start cgminer with "--avalon-options 115200:32:10:50:256" (one board), the output is "Idling 32 miners".

The board connected via USB connector is working (all 3 LEDs flashing), board 2 (broken USB) only flashing the green and orange LED. After ~1min on the 2nd board I get a solid red LED, board #1 is hashing normal.

Since no one has mentioned it here, just thought I'd say:

Not tried it myself yet, but the official cgminer 3.6.0 release merges the changes from someone42's fork, so there should be no reason to run a custom cgminer any more.

I got an email reply from Joeri at cryptx.com and said person indicated you only want the jumpers on the board that is furthest away from the USB connected board (to TERMINATE the CAN-BUS).  IOW you only want the J7 and J8 jumpers on the LAST CAN-BUS connected board but not on the others.  On another note even when I did this I still get the same behavior you've described along with a WAY LOWER than advertised hash rate.  Thank goodness for AmEx charge disputes.
