Definitely looking at present market situation short term is the best choice it is better to exist at short-term profits rather than long-term
I disagree completely with this, the market is telling you very clearly that you need to hold for the long term, in the short term the price is not moving much it's moving up a little bit and moving down a little bit unless you are able to predict very precisely how the market is going to move you are not going to make money in fact you are going to lose it, at least if you are holding you're not going to have as much losses and when the price goes up, and we all know it will go up in the future, then you profits are going to be amazing.

I am trading once in a while because I have coins in exchanges. Sometimes I buy and just wait for the coin to go up in value before I sell, of course, I know it is in the dip. Now, which is better, set it to your expected price so that when it hit you sold? O wait for the price to go up and sell even if it did not reach yet to your target price? Thanks.
For the situation like now, you better make a long-term investment. If you've been investing for a long time, even with the bitcoin price you're getting a lot of money right now. But if you are patient a bit to wait for the right time until the bitcoin price rises again, then the coins you have will be able to grow even bigger.
I guess I have to agree with you. When the market is in downtrend it is better to hold for long term. You do not know when the downtrend is going to end but by holding your coin long term, once the market bounce back and there is market reversal, you coin will of course go up in value.

Long-term only because fast trading of the portfolio is too risky in my opinion - the real prices of many tokens are not known yet.
In 2016 and 2017, long term investment is the best way to earn profit for investors but i think the crypto market had many changes in 2018 and i think we should not keep thinking that long term always bring to profit.
In fact, price of many coins dipped more than 50% even 80% compare to the price of them on December 17, 2017. Example: if you bought Bitcoin on December 17, 2017 when the price is $19k and you're still holding then you're lost a lot of money.
In this year, how to preserve our capital is important element help us earn profit in this market.

Basically both are good things. We can not be sure that long-term investments will be profitable or not and short-term investments will be profitable or not. Everything must go according to the situation. I will take every opportunity and that is the best way we can do. Take the decision according to the conditions that happen to ourselves, because whatever way we do then it depends on the conditions that occur at that time.

I'm not good enough for a trader to actively trade in this market, so I am until the trend begins.Sometimes I try to get some interest on a short transaction.
Come on, you need to just find some interesting threads on forum and learn anything about this market cause it is so easy to learn more if you know basics like you.

I never decide whether it is long term or short term, I just will take advantage of what I have invested. so when the profits come I do not want to take a worse risk

everyone has his own personal strategy for which he is more comfortable to trade. Still not a small role is played by the capital's fortune, you listed more conservative and aggressive strategies, they can be combined with different currencies! Good luck Wink

I will choose to invest long-term for now. Because I see the price of coins in the last few months is still declining, so I think long term is the best decision. I will be patient and wait to sell my coins when the price of the coin has actually gone up.

In such an incomprehensible position of the market as it is now, I think it's more logical to invest for long term. Or to hold tokens that you got.

I prefer at long term investment primarilly it is not so risk and less hustle compare to short-term investment. I find more profitable at long term because my cryptocoins like bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and neo are very suitable at a long term investment. Day to day or frequent trading requires a good skills and experiences at trading to avoid from getting lose. I will stick at long term.

I consider my self more of long-term holder - maybe I'm just too greedy - but I never want to sell something fast because I want price to grow even higher...

there seems to be no other way out. Especially if you smoked more expensive. Nobody wants to lose profits.

if you look at the current market conditions better trading alt coin with a short term that is important you must be good at assessing alt coin you want to buy.
look at the history of the lowest and highest prices of the last 7 days on the coin. and buy when the low price is selling when the price is high.

for now I've been holding some of my coins for long term because it`s still the best way to earn profits. There r some coins that r good for long term investment like BTC, ETH and LTC. Before buying a coin, it's better to research it first and find out if that coin have the really good potential to give u profit in the long term. If u have some significant funds for long term investment then buy not just a single coin, but some another potential coins.

I follow different strategies with different coins. With Bitcoin and Eth - I am long term, while with altcoins I am short term. There is no point being long term on altcoins since they would eventually get dumped. For example, I had bought LBC Credits for 0.36$ and the price immediately went to 0.54$. I suppose the owners were pumping the coin. But after that within a single week the price fell to 0.18$.
Now, if I had decided to HODL it, I would have been in 50% loss, I did the right thing by selling it off when I felt the price was right.
Hence, look at BTC & ETH for long term and the remaining for short term.

You are lucky to decide to sell your coins with profit instead of holding it for long term. I see that you are good in speculating that you decide to sell it with 50% profit. Maybe you are an advance trader which is good in analyzing the chart.
