I will repeat what was said here at the forum many times. Until you sold it, you did not lose it. I try to follow this rule. Since if I personally sell at this point all the Cryptocurrency, then I will remain at a loss of 65%. I can not let this happen.

It's heartbreaking to invest into the market when the market it's at it's highest. Well, as long as you didn't sell, you still got the money, only that you will get them back in a few (months) years.

You don´t loose until you sell, so yes they have dropped in value and you may been caught in a couple of coins there... life goes on and you will eventually recover if they are solid projects.

So I basically got fomoed. Towards the end of 2017 I saw how high bitcoin skyrocketed and decided to invest in ripple as a test. Less than one week it went up 3x. This made me more ballsy and I put in 11k total in various other alt coins like ripple, ethos, tron, and cardano. After the crash I lost about half of my value just like that. I am frustrated with the experience and wish I would have just put in 1k or something. I wish I could just not invested and went into what I was doing earlier which was just investing the boring and traditional way. Should I wait and hodl or pull out and do something else?
Selling will only make you lose more money. Hold thight, in a few months the money will get back to your wallet. Just don't sell! |

Not only you, maybe many other friends experience the same thing. We must be patient and hold until the end of the year to avoid losses in our investments. |

there is big profits and big losses here
but as long as you re confident with the coin, hodl is the only thing you can do
if you want a safer investment, put your money to the bank for interest

To be honest, you choosed not the best altcoin list for investment.
Cardano. Present itself as an anonymous coin, but their anonymity came up to be fiction. The coin has nothing unique.
Ripple is centralized and speculative, but you can wait for spring manipulations and it is likely that the coin will return to previous peak values.
Tron is a bloated bubble, there is no finished product and their whitepapper is plagiarized filecoin.For the future, I would not advise you to hastily invest in coins, which you have not studied in detail.
Especially when they are at their peak.
Little bit disagree with your Cardano argument. Cardano has a new proof of stake algorithm, it called Ouroboros. It's better than Ethereum. You said Cardano has nothing unique. I think you don't know nothing about Cardano. I suggest you to take a look their Whiteboard Video on youtube channel. You can learn a lot about Cardano technology there. |

Hodl is best way to gain profit, fluctuacion of crypto so high so the market still able to going up in the long term, just hold it in minimum 1 year and i believe you can get best profit. But if you are day trader, you can sell it and buy back at lower price but this is need more time and more skill.
Nope, dude. Hodl is not suitable anymore these days. The market is not the same as like 2015-2016 when the market is easy to predict. Nowadays, too many Capitalist elites who want to shut down cryptocurrency. They bribe the news agency to make a FUD news. Crypto these days is hard to for hodlr. Too much elite conspiracy. |

Do not panic. please keep in mind, always holders win. you have proven examples from the previous past.
Examples
Eth Starts on 2015 under 1 doller now 800$ , on the peak times it was 1500$. please be patient. if you sell then you will face loss. better keep at least 6 months.

I think there nothing to do with that if you lost half of your crypto. Instead make it a good experience. You cant go to a success if didnt go to failure. So dont give up and try it again with slowly but sure that it will not happen again

Well my advice to everyone when it have to due some of these coin that have a great future is to wait for magnification and not to sell at a dump and loss coins that have potential. The market does not always grow that expeditious, so you require to be yare to wait at a dump period.

when one coin and you know that this one have some of the great potential then hold of it study and always checked its background we can say that this is may take more time so do what can be the best thing to do for. |

Iam the same situation but i just relax and wait the market change to up trend, if you have skill and some strategy, you can trade it so the amount of money can be increasing with buy and sell many times , but if you dont have times for that and your purpose use that money for long term investment, so just hold it in minimum 1 year. In the end of 2018 the market will be growing again.

Do a short-term trading, in my opinion, this could be a solution to restore half of the money that has been lost. Do not expect too much to get bigger profits first, most importantly do short term trading to get a little profit but often get it. Once the initial capital returns, you can hold it for a long time until the crypto price movement increases sharply.

Well, I sorry for your loss, but this is trading! And if your only strategy is to buy a currency and to hope it will grow forever, of course you'll lose money.
Btw, if you are a skilled trader, with a volatility so high (bitcoin jumps up and dond 20% daily...) you can recuperate all your loss.
Of course, you can also lose everything...
I you don't like it, better invest in mutual funds...
