There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Hobonickels on 7 satoshi

Yes, the current price is not nice. But it looks like I'm the only one who buys some HoboNickels there from time to time. At the moment I have no money to buy more and bring the price up again.  Roll Eyes

I'm going to start buying

.... (que Spongbob) "2 days later"

I logged into FreiExchange, deposited, bought some HBN, and withdrew HBN to wallet

1) FeXchance is ... unresponsive sometimes, but seems to work fine, deposit and withdraw was a non issue.
2) HBN is always crazy fast, seems like I'm the only person using it sometimes, lol - maybe?

Exchange works, HBN works

that is fine . I am not happy that HBN fund , where lot of people because of trust to Tranz put their money does not generate any stakes , this is so disrespectful towards community , same as his fake promises before complete disapearance.

I give substantial amount of HBN to anyone who can take over the code developement

I had the same experience there. FreiExchange and the HoboNickels blockchain works without problems and both are pretty fast. I hope it stays that way.  Wink

I'm afraid I can only agree with you. I also don't like the fact that Tranz has gone into hiding again and I don't want to write about the HBN fund. Really sorry he's lying around unused. A new dev would certainly be good for the project. I'll ask some devs if they're not interested in taking over the project. But it's gonna take a few more days.  Smiley

I've never had a problem with Tranz.  Whenever there's been a problem, he's shown up and fixed it.  This coin has been around a long time in crypto terms.

The coin works, has stable peers, staking works well, the wallet is functional.

I think expectations should be kept in check.  If your looking for a super speculative coin that has a functioning network and stakes - then here ya go.

A functioning network? There have been many forks now in history, one that made btcpop unusable. I have similar problems with other PoS coins, colx for example. From time to time you find yourself on different chains, this is not yet a functioning network.

I disagree (maybe).  I've have been here a long time, and have been through most if not all of the forks.  Tranz has addressed all of them.  The last one was before the POW ended.  I appeared someone - I believe it was the Hash 2 Coins pool, broke off on a different chain, because of the hash.  They never got their wallet back running and dropped HBN from their pool.  I noticed the fork, and reported it to Tranz.  Consensus was formed around the Chain that most of us were on, which was the same chain as Cryptopia.  Now that HBN is 100% POS I don't expect as many problems.  I don't know exactly what you mean by "time to time" - but it's been acceptable.

I think if a charity needed to move funds, or have a multi country currency and decided to use HBN.  It could work.  They would get the benefit of the blockchain, and the charity staking.  What do I think the odds are - IDK 1:1000, 10,000?

If you are on the correct wallet peers and sync times are good.

HBN is a good low cost, stable, POS coin, with a charity niche

what about listing HBN on graviex.net ?

their exchange works good and the listing fees are fair.
there are many low volume projects listed there.

Tranz made very clear that he will abandon the coin when there is any attempt to fork it.
The Community agreed and now we have to go down this road. Tech is a bit outdated by but it still works like it should.

I still hope Tranz will upgrade the Specs and Tech to something that can stand the Test of time one day.

Somehow you're right about that, too. It's hard to tell what to do next. We have to live with the fact that Tranz doesn't have much time and only helps when there are problems. As long as this continues to work, I'd be halfway satisfied. But it would certainly help the project if he were more active. Maybe he'll get back to us someday, it'd be nice.  Smiley
