Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

You can get used ZTEX 1.15y (hashrate around 1.6GH/s) for 100euro. Afaik it should give you higher hashrate (also hashrate/price) than the boards you posted.

I'd like to see where you can find one that cheap (especially an original one instead of a clone) Smiley My two recent purchases have been closer to 200 EUR each, including postage. The cheapest offers I've seen were about 150, but it seems the prices are on the rise with a certain lucrative application Cool
http://allegro.pl/koparka-bitcoin-ztex-1-15y-860mh-s-i3978608115.html (400pln is around 100eur)
This guy has 5 of those to sell. I asked him to send me some pictures to see the condition of the board but he didnt respond yet. Last week there were 2 other offers with similar prices.

Why is blake under the radar?  Huh

so i can mine more before it explodes! actually it looks like it is starting to get noticed, network hashrate has tripled within the past week or so. up until recently blakecoin has been keeping a low profile while devs are busy porting tools to support it and setting up pools, block explorer etc. but most of that is done now so i think BLC will start to gain some recognition.

I use a standard atx high current psu to power Ztex 1.15y boards, 1m USB 2.0 A to Mini B 5 pin Cables, the boards I have came with a power lead but worth asking as the Ztex boards do have a weird power connector

Hope you will get the board used. At new prices, with the current value this would be big risk in my opinion. Of course who knows where the value will go, with BLC on coinmarketcap and several exchanges,  things are looking up.

With several FPGA boards I would say it is worth trying solo mining and pool mining and see what performs better for you.

its a bug in the boost library and should be fixed in 0.9.0 by using boost 1.55, also check you are UTC/GMT time zone on your mining rig to avoid issues

can do but make sure you upgrade to 9.0

its worth noting that 8.6 was also built with boost 1.54 so does have the same bug as 8.9 not sure why its shows more on your system  Undecided
