In 2017, most projects were clearly speculative in nature. It was enough to add to the project name the word "blockchain" and immediately there were a lot of investors. Now people have become more circumspect, so the activity on the market has greatly decreased.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Kinda feel same about this year ICOs too, well i hope there are many serious ICOs that want to change a little of our world into a better place for human kind. Kinda hard to holding some coin/ token that provides from any ICOs campaign or whatnot. The prices would definitely falling down like you've said.

Yes, last year the situation with IKO was much better. Now, only the scarlet part of the projects is raising money for development. On the other hand, this is good, since weak projects are eliminated.

In 2017 almost all ICOs are successful and can reach hardcap even when pre-ICO, this is because investors are optimistic about the future of crypto and scam projects not as many as they are now, and I hope that regulations that govern the ICO will soon be made.

I think ICO in 2018 is a lot of scam compared to ICO in 2017. but do not worry there are some very good ICO, one of them is USECHAIN (https://usechain.net). Very interactive project with a strong team. I think these guys are waiting for a great future, success to the team and to the investors!

Well i am also 100% sure that the ICO last year is really better than the ico now, i remember that there are so many ico that became very successful last year but this year there are also successful but they are not reaching there hardcap anymore.

This year is clearly unsuccessful for almost all ICOs that took place in 2018. Success achieved only some projects. Well, all my positive hopes for the next year.

It's amazing to think that this was posted last march.
Already back then, the ico market was showing signs of collapsing.

Now, I think it is safe to say that 2018 marked the downfall of the entire ICO market.
Ask yourself a simple question, do you know of ANY ico that is trading above ICO price?
And if they are, are any of them even giving 10% or more returns?

Compare this to last year when it was very easy to flip an ICO for 200% - 300% percent returns.
Not to mention the Neos and OMGs, the golden ones that gave 1000% and more profit.

I saw some pretty great ICOs this year that have struggled due to the poor market conditions.
Some of these, I think if they would have released a year ago, their situation would be so different.

Crypto world are same as 2018 to last 2017 because if we can see there are also many ICOs turn to scam last 2017 and also now in 2018 so, there is no deference, that is why the only things we need to do is be wise in joining bounties to avoid wasting time work.

Though,it is expected that when a project get listed after an ICO to get dump, leading to a dip in price, but the situation of the crypto market now has done more harm to to every project been release now which is not like that in 2017.

It seems to me that there should have been a decline in interest, because last year demand was too high and even useless projects collected large sums.

this is my own opinion but it may help others.

I have found that all the ICOs i have invested in have launched at almost the ICO price but in a few days dipped below the ICO prices by half or 5X for some.

With this i have discovered its better not to invest in an ICO but wait for the launch and the DIP to buy it at the corrected prices made by market forces.
Its just too hard to tell the real or recommended value of a token in an ICO these days.

Hope this helps to the new investors thinking of ICOs

Yes, it was different. ICO projects did not have enough capital to operate and so everything became more difficult for them. ICO projects now are not a golden bag anymore, it is a challenge for startups and investors. So we need to change the long-term investment strategy to make a profit with them.
