In my opinion, your coins do not have a strong fundamental background. In order to keep coins long, you need to choose those coins that have a strong fundamental structure. The most important thing in storing coins is to choose the right moment for the sale of coins. I see that you can't choose it correctly. Some coins were much more expensive than now, but you missed a good time for sale
I agree that if you do not have enough experience and knowledge to know in detail the details of a potential investment, it is better to stick to the safest and most reliable options such as bitcoin and ethereum. I think, if we want to holding some alt we must learn and research about which ICO we want to invest carefully, because much of project isnot succes in future |

I hold 3 coins espers-(3 years),insane-(2 years),html - (5 years)  and price is the same....no moon ....I dont trust to holding anymore,any suggestions? It might be your invested coin is worthless so the price wont go up. Holding is still a good way to get profit so do not lose your trust. Just be cautious on investing because your investment might be gone |

Holding in 2017 was a very good option, but with 2018 we all have to admit it's bullshit.
I think you have made point here. Surely 2018 not the same as 2017. In 2017, some of project was being success when entering in the market, and holding it at that time will get return in multiple 10x-20x, but now in 2018 with all of restriction it's difficult to speculation which one coins is good for long holding. In 2018, we need to learn the market specify about which trend will running into. |

It depends the token you are holding. If that token have an influence to the consumer to purchase it, the value of that token will increase but in the negative side if that token does not give trademark to the investors. It's value will never change.

now you will say you hold BCC too , and it caused you loss , so holding is bullshit ..
all fo those 3 coins are like dead coins ,, holding does not mean you never sell your coin ,,
you should keep checking project you holding to know if project is still live or dead .

Holding of coins in long term is still a good idea but you should choice trusted coins. People missed many opportunities to have a good profit but even though you made a of wrong decision your still lucky to keep your investment from any losses. |

It is depends on the coin you own. Ofcourse not all coins are the same. There are coins that looking good in the starting but after a year it will crash or will not moving. There are altcoins that looking bad in the beginning but in the run will growth. Still it is depends on altcoins. Choose eth for your sureness profit at the end.

it sounds like you chose some really crappy coins. don't blame the strategy, blame your terrible judgment.
i would never long term hold a coin that didn't have significant momentum. 50c ethereum or 25c monero was a no brainer. that's what you could've paid in 2015 for them. they had the lead in their respective areas and good teams. that makes them a hold.
you might get lucky with a pump out of nowhere but the lower down coinmarketcap you go the more likely your hold will turn to dust.

I think for now the manahan is the best thing to do because now all altcoin is very down and red but I am sure everything will get better again.

Holding isn't bullshit but selling out of panic does.
Holding your Crypto Assets will save it from the crypto mega dip so if you are selling it out of panic then you will miss the pump and higher returns.
I didn't sell even a single coin that I got from signature and other bounty campaigns and I am holding them and today I am contented because they are pumping and offers me high profits even the crypto market is dropping.

it depends on the person on how they hold their coins, some they want to increase the value before they sell, I also do that because I believe in the increase and decrease of crypto currencies. |

Altcoins that has a good project does pump because of the project effectiveness and functionalities so it's better to invest around $1 coins than cheaper than a penny because surely you'll get more and higher returns. |
