Scrypt is secure. SHA256 is secure. No one on the earth can crack them. So it does not make sense to compare the 2 algorithms in term of security.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

AFAIK sha256 is also used extensively in Litecoin, scrpt is only used in its mining function.

ooops to LTC haters

That's traded amount correct? If BTC was worth more the total amount traded would be less than another that is cheaper. Can you do that chart again but use equivalent in US dollars? I'm curious.

that chart shows the traded amount of litecoin in pairs LTC/USD and LTC/BTC whic is all converted to BTC and compared to the traded amount of Bitcoin on all exchanges

so value of Litecoin trades the last 24 hours in Bitcoin was 88813 BTC (the Chinese exchanges were excluded, okcoin, FXBTC also excluded for some reason)
the trading volume of Bitcoin the last 24 hours  103995 BTC

Yes, but for example, where's namecoin now? Essentially dead, right? There you go, this chart means nothing.

I'm thinking that some other alt will overtake it in time. It is performing well, for now.

Just like bitcoin tho... Litecoin has this head start which is hard to overcome. I am unclear what is the number 3 coin right now.

Wait for the hype to settle and we will see. You can't really say that it is PPC as it had a head start, others are catching up.
