The website has little or no use now. Members only lose money there.

The price has been going down for months, they only show the price movement for the last month so it is hard to see the continuous decline month after month but it seems you can't even see a chart showing more than the last 24h now, "1week" and "1month" only show the volumes

I know they have had tech issues with charts which seem to be resolved now. I use 2FA with CEX.IO and not had any issues on withdrawals, payments have always worked for me.

They are popping back on, one by one!! - is proof setting up a backup pool is worth it!

Must be sorting out something that went wrong.

Had a strange transaction recently, only noticed as my account now has a negative BTC balance. So usually after a block is rewarded I see the block reward in my account history and a maintenance fee, a % of the block reward, but this time I see:

Mining: 0.00010283 BTC
Maintenance: -0.00045417 BTC

Maintenance is over 4 times the block reward? Is this a known issue?

Tompool - http://tompool.org - a 2% fee SHA256/Scrypt/BURST/Groestl multipool supporting ANC, ASC, DGC, EZC, FLO, GLD, GME, MNC, RYC, TGC, TRC, XNC, ZET & more

It is no longer a issue, the fee is no longer a % of block reward, it's now fixed at $0.26/month/Ghs, which equals to 34% of mining profit in a month, but it actually isn't calculated like that.

The maintenance fee is calculated per-share, so for long blocks your shares will cost more than they make, but on the "a few seconds" blocks you'll barely pay any maintenance.

While frustrating and somewhat opaque, the same would be true if you were using your own gear mining at home. Long blocks would use more electricity than your reward from them, but short blocks would use barely any electricity for the same reward.

Not really the long blocks would also have more shares in them due to the time it took to find the block, Cex charges for the amount of shares you have. IE the more fee you paid for longer blocks, BUT the more btc you would get as well seeing you submitted more shares during the time to find the next block. Like wise the shorter time to find a block the fewer shares you submitted to get paid for. Basically it all equals out.

Get a backup/failover pool? You should contact their support and open a ticket for issues, you know.

The maintenance fee was $0.30 / kWH, and it was ~4% of total mining profit in Nov 2013.  Cheesy
https://support.cex.io/hc/communities/public/questions/200783457-Official-statement-about-the-maintenance-fee

Quote
Below is the official statement about the maintenance fee:

The fee will be implemented on November 12th 2013.

The maintenance fee is estimated as $0.30 / kW*hour:

$0.17/kW electricity cost + $0.09 data centre upkeep + $0.04 hardware repair/maintenance.

(The power consumption of 1 GHS is 1.5W per hour)

The fee will be billed in BTC per mining share. The estimated fee is 0.000000002695 BTC/share, which makes it ~4% of total mining profit.

Yep, but in nov 2013 BTC price was more than 2x of now, cause the fee is billed directly in BTC, right now has more impact on earnings

Nice trading newguy05. Interestingly GHS and FHM contracts at CEX.IO on a bullish streak this week. GHS 0.0071 +6%, FHM 0.00624 +22%.

Maybe a leading indicator for bullish Bitcoin price rise, just need someone like EBAY to say we'll integrate Bitcoin and.......http://www.coindesk.com/ebay-ceo-actively-considering-bitcoin-integration/  Grin
