Apologies for the downtime, we had some issues with one of our database servers. Everything is back to normal now and all active bonuses were extended by 6 hours. On a separate note, I am extremely busy with a lot of stuff and so I do not have the time to give proper support and respond to users in the forum. So I have hired a community manager - Myfe ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=966127) to make announcements and provide support in the forum. I will still be around but if you have any problems with the website or need help with something please direct those to him. I will still be managing everything from behind the scenes and will still be reading and posting occasionally here.

The new interest feature is a pleasant surprise since it was completely unexpected. I am curious though, what made you fix the APY at 4.08%? I realize the APY is a result of the daily rate which is compounded daily, so I guess a more accurate question is how did you decide what the daily interest rate would be?
Also, this is just out of curiosity as well, but is the time the interest is credited truly random (generated by computer perhaps) or just variable (initiated manually but at no set time)?
We set the interest rate at 4% APR which comes to 4.08% annually if compounded daily. We set the rate at 4% since that is what we can safely give out for a long period of time while also being competitive with similar services. The interest is credited at a computer generated random time everyday but we have been adjusting the time for the first few days so that we can monitor if everything works properly before we let the script run on its own. It will be fully automated from now onwards. I wonder what hapens if bitcoin does a hard fork... I invested 0.15 BTC, but in case of a hard fork, who gets the BTU?

Hi all, thanks for having me. I'm a long time user of Freebitco.in and Freedoge.co.in, so I speak with direct experience. I'll be reviewing the thread often to answer your questions. However if you find I've missed yours feel free to repost or PM me. Great question from MtgMarcel, Wetsuit offered some comments on the approach not long ago on this thread. I wonder what hapens if bitcoin does a hard fork...I invested 0.15 BTC, but in case of a hard fork, who gets the BTU?
Specific comments on how deposits and transactions will be handled should a hard fork become reality are quoted below.I was meaning to make a detailed post about it but this is basically how we would handle it:
1. We will temporarily pause withdrawals and crediting of deposits 6 blocks before the block when the hard fork is supposed to happen. Although we would recommend users to stop sending deposits to us at this time until things have resolved, there is nothing we can actually do to stop them from doing so. 2. We will take a snapshot of all user balances at this point. 3. When things have been resolved and there is a clear winner, we shall resume withdrawals and credit all deposits that were made during the time when we had paused the crediting of deposits. 4. We will follow the longest chain. 5. All users who held a balance with us before the hard fork (when the snapshot was taken in point 2) will be able to withdraw an equivalent number of coins in the minority chain.
Regardless of how I feel about the block-size debate, our priority will be maintaining the maximum possible value for our users.
And If BU wins, we will use BU as the primary coin and users will be able to withdraw an equivalent number of BTC to their wallets since that will become the minority chain. If BU forks with at least 75%, it will be very difficult for the BTC chain to survive and confirmation times will increase 4x and fees will go through the roof until the difficulty resets (which will also take 4x as long). In such a scenario, it would be very difficult to use BTC as our primary coin.
However, if BU forks with around 50% then it is more likely than not that the BU chain will die out. We shall pause all deposits and withdrawals until there is a clear winner. If the BTC chain wins, then we will make that our primary coin and users will be able to withdraw an equivalent number of BU coins to their wallet.
In all scenarios, if there is a fork users will get 2 coins for each coin that have deposited with us, so they will not be losing out in any way. We cannot however guarantee that their withdrawal transaction in the minority chain will ever confirm (although we will use the appropriate fee) because there will most likely be a rush of users trying to withdraw to exchanges to sell and fees and confirmation times will go through the roof.

Thanks for this clear answer! I must have missed the original thread... i like the solution!

Hello Myfe, I am not sure if you saw my previous post but I am still curious if there is anyway to contact one of my referrals. I'd like to offer them a custom rev share agreement to motivate them to utilize the site even more. Is that at all possible? Thanks!

The daily interest is a nice thing, but dangerous on a gambling site. I have deposited some money and now I am always very tempted to give gambling another try. I used the Multiply BTC bonus a few times and turned my ~0.14BTC investment in ~0.23 which is nice. But if I continue doing that, I will eventually lose everything, obviously. I consider that smart business (from freebitco.in-perspective) and it should work, the interest is realistic. I would not risk too much money, though. Freebitco.in is in business for a very long time, but that is not a guarantee. There might be a high temptation to just run with all the money. Use your own brain.

Hey wetsuit, is there anyway for me to contact one of my referrals? I have a specific referral who has been quite profitable and I would like to offer him/her a rev share option if they commit to using the site even more. Not sure if this is possible, and I imagine it is not, but I would absolutely love to have that opportunity if it's at all possible. Thanks!
I would like to have that option on the website, too.Comes in handy to contact your best refferals and give them a extra bonus.
