The new changes compiled for me and began syncing. Appears to be on the correct chain. Awesome work guys I will send some btc over to the two addresses posted. Tek is a bit too valuable for me to send right now... I need all I can get! thanks a ton presstab you are awesome. yes i hate parting with TEk, but lol i had no btc i bought tek last few days .. i think im addictied. Ha ha yep I need to start collecting some mature coins. If you look at cryptsy right now it looks like I am not the only one not willing to sell their coin age.

I have coins I mined the first few days with my USB miners lol Got to the point I had to create a new wallet.dat and move the coins to another wallet because the wallet would crash from having so many transactions. Im almost to the point on this new wallet.dat it will stake constantly again lol.

Coin control, stake weight monitoring, etc. Can you explain? - Coin control: a way to ensure than the coin to be spent first are the one with the less coinage, so the least "waste"? - Stake weight monitoring:? Thank you For some more information on coin control check out the coin control article on the hobonickels wiki http://wiki.hobonickels.info/index.php?title=Coin_ControlStake weight monitoring is active right now in the wallet. After day 30 the coin begins to have stake weight. The more stake weight a block of coin has, the higher chance it will have of staking faster. Stake weight is calculated by taking the total amount of days the block has aged passed 30 days and multiplying it by the amount of coins in the block. For example if I had a block of 1,000 TEK that aged for 35 days, I would have a stake weight of 5,000.

It is probably not crashing from your transaction count (at least with my experience with the HBN client). It is that when the coins begin to stake they take much more resources from the computer and can overwhelm the client. One way to fix this is to combine your small blocks into new big blocks using coin control and another way is to use the reserve rpc command to prevent some coins from staking. Tranz recently added faststaker on HoboNickels and it significantly improves these problems. I have seen a huge difference on my low resource VPS that runs the HBN client. It might be worth implementing faststaker into TEK soon.

I am new to Tekcoin and I am wondering how to properly setup the tekcoin wallet for minting. Is there a procedure some where that explains what I have to do. Thanks for the help. How do I verify the wallet is minting? Posted from Bitcointa.lk - #kWLHnv0sBq98Tnpg

just add the coins to your wallet and if it is not encrypted it will stake if it is encrypted you will have to unlock it for minting

Thanks for the reply. I do have my wallet encrypted. So all I have to do is unlock it for minting. That is super easy! Thanks, that is easier than peercoin. I used to have to run a batch file. In next iteration of the tekcoin wallet I suggest putting in a message that says it is minting in the status bar. That would be a good thing. Thanks again for your help! I see the changes here. https://github.com/argakiig/TEK/commit/25afd030534947e2b14633d8e7264e84dbeac4f6I am not sure commenting out the checkblocksig is a great idea. You are really opening yourself up for an attack. Might be better to re-active it at a certain height. Like after the block the download has been on. So for instance might try this. if (!CheckBlockSignature() && nHeight > 100000) return DoS(100, error("CheckBlock() : bad block signature")); This way it will not check the first 100k blocks for the sig but will check the remaining. Anyway it is worth testing and getting it to be able to still use the check sig for future blocks. The lower height number you can get to the better.

I am going to run a few compiles and see how low I can get the height to go on the said line. Good catch Tranz.

I am going to work on getting that into the wallet, similar to how the HBN stake icon is. For the time being you can check to see if your coins are staking by looking at the stake weight on the coin control dialog. Any stake weight over 0 means that your coins are competing for stake.

I would also suggest putting in a hardcoded checkpoint at the block you use, or a few others behind it. So if you end up using block 50,000, be sure to have a checkpoint at say block 25,000 and 50,000. This will help prevent anyone from exploiting the code during init download. Also If anyone is willing I would like to trade HBN for some TEK. The price between our coins is similar but both tend to fluctuate quite a bit. I'd do 1.5 to 1. So 10,000 HBN for 7,500 TEK. Min block trade of 10k. Let me know. Thanks!
