What in your opinion is the status? If I make an assumption based on many of the posts here, I am leaning towards a sale of some sort taking place at the point of the date where the decline began.
I'm not sure what has happened exactly, but I doubt that they have sold the website. I believe all these things are happening as they were unable to make any revenue. Most probably the premium membership system had a negative impact on their revenue part. We only know some usernames of Bitcointalk accounts who own Freebitco.in. The real identity of the owner is still unknown as it was from the beginning. They were still processing withdrawals through the old wallet addresses. We wouldn’t see that if ownership had changed. If you look at @TheQuin's post history you'll notice that he was the kind of person who knew how to apologize when someone came to report a problem and @TheQuin would explain to the person what happened, when you're faced with a person like that, you realize that he wouldn't be the kind of person to be running the site for 1 year without ever appearing here in this thread to interact with the members, so I have no doubt that the site has changed hands, everything that is happening with the site doesn't make much sense. Maybe he is dead. Maybe a gang took over. Criminals. A squad. Organized crime. One thing is certain: a website that worked well for 10 years, suddenly start scamming people.... or... IT WAS ALWAYS A PONZI SCHEME. THINK about it: who the hell would give away money for free, even with pennies? NOBODY DOES THAT for 10 years without having a SCHEME. As NOBODY like YouTube exists (offer free server to post, yearly, pentabytes of videos). PONZI SCHEME: if people don't cash out, the NUMBERS ON THE SCREEN ARE JUST FLASHY NUMBERS. NOTHING REAL. As with the BANKS: flashy numbers on an app, too. If everybody withdraw at the same time, goodbye bank, because the majority of the money DOESN'T EXIST. The ponzi scheme, the most sucessfull of the world in history of the internet, is done. No new deposits. Only a few. Until it goes... silent. forever. 50 million users MY ASS! Tweet posts from freebitco can barely reach 2K people! the website is banned from google! From facebook! IT IS DONE. End of the line. I'm here just to see what happens on october 15! To watch the historical fall of the first bitcoin faucet of the planet! THE HISTORY IS BEEING WRITEN NOW. Last days of freebitcoin... online. And yes: banks are ponzi schemes. Why do you think there are so much ads from banks? Because they need your REAL money to go to their pockets, that's how they have HUGE PROFIT, bigger than ever than before! The numbers on a screen DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!!!

When you search on Google for "Free Bitcoin" it's still showing up there, are you sure it's banned from Google? Nonetheless, yes, you're right, it is pretty much done.

The confirmation came from a much newer account that was created in June 2024. How would the perception change if an account previously associated with Freebitcoin was to post to clarify the ownership? However unlikely, it is a possibility the ownership has not changed hands but other factors behind the scenes have played a massive part in their recent reputational decline. I think most members have already made up their minds. If the confirmation of unchanged ownership did not come from any source that we know was part of the previous ownership structure, how can anyone believe that the owners have not changed? I have already written several times that everything that has been happening in the past year and a half clearly indicates that the same people are no longer behind everything, but rather ordinary amateurs who don't know what they are doing.

Ever since The Quin mysteriously stepped down from his role, Ive had my suspicions that something fishy is going on behind the scenes. BUT I also dont think the site has changed ownership. It seems like they may have just redirected their resources to other forms of business. They own a few other casino brands, right?

Mining is completely unprofitable right now. To make a profit, you need large investments, primarily in alternative energy. However, the cost of solar panels and other related equipment means you won't recoup your investment for at least 20 years, even if you buy the latest ASIC miner.
Well, I am a solar engineer, that is I sale and install solar systems in homes and any where it's needed, setting up a solar system that can be able to power a bitcoin mining systems will be very costly, that is, it will cost alot since everything things to be used for the installation ranging from panels, inverters to batteries and other components will have to be all standard and original. I also have never mined bitcoin before, and also have not lived close to any one who does, so it's very difficult for me to tell what the difficulty level is, and how much electricity the rig will be consuming exactly, but based on how people talk and go about how mining bitcoin consumes energy, going for a substandard solar components could be very detrimental as this could lead to loss of investment, and I also won't argue or say that 20 years to recoup the money the money invested true or not, but I just know it's possible.

It's worth noting that any website, including the freebitcoin site, can be removed from search engine results at the request of regulators in a particular country. Personally, I can still find the freebitcoin site without any problems using Google, but surely there are jurisdictions where users can no longer find it.

They've made money with google adsense in the beginning, that's how their business model was based on at first. The ads would pay for the pennies given. Then they were banned from google ads and facebook ads. But the ponzi scheme continued.

Maybe they're just tired of it. They've made millions, especially since they've scammed many people over the past two months, who haven't been able to withdraw their savings.
no one gets tired of making millions. they fucked up the management big time by chasing the tokens hype and giving out unsustainable rewards. also, if they did acually make millions, the money won't do much to whoever was in control if the authorities come after them. i doubt that's gonna happen, but it's not an impossibility. The site has over 50 million users, and just imagine if even 1% of all users deposit $100, and that's not a small number. Some deposit $1,000 or more. But even at $100, that's $50,000,000 per day. I don't know what it would take for the site to be unprofitable.
but a lot of those are inactive accounts and faucet bots, and people who only claim the faucet, so the real number of people who would have been depositing and betting is much lower. Maybe they are waiting to click the payments back on when the lambo drawing ends in 2 days har har just in time for their wallet to finish resyncing as well har har har

Legal requests, to which they have responded by blocking IP addresses from certain countries, have been sent to FBC BV, the same company that operated the website since TheQuin was still on the forum. They are still using the same Ethereum wallets they’ve had for the past 4 years. Their old hot wallet, that they’ve used since 2017, was still being used to process withdrawals earlier this year, long after their problems had started. In my opinion, assumptions that ownership changed hands seem to be based on gut feelings alone, and not on any conclusive evidence.

Curiosity made me to try searching for this site on Google search and indeed, the site is still there, in fact, all the results I got all had something to do with freebitco.. So I would possibly believe that zangadogamer is lying, but if he is not, then it's very possible that the site has been banned from appearing on search engines in his country alone, but if I am asked to choose one of the available options, I did choose that he is lying, freebitco is not a very popular site and can't attract the attention of the authorities, not even now that they are going down, why would the authorities want to start a fight with a website that has already lost its reputation and are at the verge of shutting down? Except they just want to indirectly hsaten the shutting down process of the website 😁

Creating new book money by new loans is in principal the only way a economy can grow. What a bank cant do is convert all the book money into cash or e.g. gold cos its only fiat money. There is no real money since Nixon did cut out the gold standard.

Any others have separate rules, such as keeping 100% of all deposits in reserves at all times.

Sept. 28, 2025: FUNs or BTC, the situation is practically the same. Freebitco.in doesn't pay anything. And if by chance they made a payment: - There would be an avalanche of withdrawals.
- We would all want to withdraw our funds.
- No one (or almost no one) deposits, nor will they do so until some time passes and it is confirmed that several withdrawals have been made.
Conclusion: There isn't enough money to manage withdrawals without deposits. The only solution would be for a large company to buy the site, assuming the huge losses that come with starting with payments without income. Their strategy is to let time pass so that users switch to other faucets, forget about the site, and consider their funds lost. They will possibly renew the domain to continue this strategy, "buying" more time for everything to be forgotten. For me, the chances of recovering both BTC and FUNs are 0.1% as of today. I'm sorry for everyone and wish the Freebitcoin team the worst personally. (Of course, I'll correct myself and apologize if that doesn't happen.)

I disagree that freebitcoin isn't very popular. Although there are many problems and it seems that the site is on its last legs, there is still a lot of audience traffic there. As for the authorities, it's worth noting that the freebitcoin website does attract the attention of some of them. For example, access to the site has already been blocked in Germany and the Netherlands.

For example, access to the site has already been blocked in Germany and the Netherlands. Agreed. This casino is one of the popular not because of their casino feature but due to the fact that they are one of the OG faucet casino that still active now and evolved to a casino. I believe most of the OG faucet website was already not working while FBC still has active faucet on their casino until now that’s why even with lots of problem this casino still have a lot of traffic.
