waves.support so do you recommend the old password or new password for the desktop client?

So if next time i want to open the lite client, i have to use old password.  The desktop client... the new password?

Hard to understand why Waves founder treats his first investors and supporters this way, so many scammer devs in crypto trying to look legitimate ... sasha is one of the only legitimate devs who does his best to look like a scammer .... 3 years of waiting for these poor people who supported Sasha when he started in crypto as founder of Coinomat.

The password does not matter that much when importing your old waves wallet address, what matters is your 12 phrase words for recovery each time you want to make use of it, wether you decided to repeat your old password or create a new one don't make a difference, as long as you make a password at all to prevent easy access to your wallet.
I always change my waves password whenever i recovery my old wallet for whatever reason, hope you understand.

How popular is Waves platform at the moment?

Is it worth creating dapps/contracts on it?

Are there enough users / loyal users who will prefer such projects?

Okay why do you say 12 word phrase?  Is your phrase 12 words?  Mine is 15 words.  Why do some ppl have 12 vs 15 words as their seed for waves?

But if i make a new password for it, if i try to log into my waves lite client as oppose to the desktop client... will i use the new password or old password for the waves lite client?

I have the waves lite client and the desktop waves client on the same computer.

Hi again.
You will have your old password in lite client. Password doesn't connected to seed phrase

If the infos posted there are true, the volume of exchange is really tiny to be honest, it seems waves still has a marketing problem on its hands.

What do you expect as an answer? Always depends on what you mean by popular. Specify your question.

Is it worth creating dapps/contracts on it?

Yes, it is. Actually, you should specify your question here as well.

Are there enough users / loyal users who will prefer such projects?

Yes, definitely. Waves has a very loyal user base.

Hello, you'd better change the password for sure, and you can easily do it restoring the access to your wallet with the SEED-phrase. Feel free to use the instructions here https://docs.wavesplatform.com/en/waves-client/account-management/restore-an-account.html

Best wishes,
Waves Community manager.

Im confused with this.  If he posted his waves desktop client password on public chat, the only way for someone to access it would be for them to know his waves address correct?  Thus they need his waves address and his password?  So if you someone download waves wallet on their own computer, they could type in his waves address and password and access his waves wallet?

Also you said if you download the waves desktop client and input your seed and then enter a new password, didn't you say if you tried to log into your waves lite client account, then that waves lite client account still uses the old password?  But the desktop client you downloaded and put in a new password you log in with the new password?  Or whether you log in with lite client or desktop client, its the new password no matter what?

Password and address definitely not enough. You need either seed or private key to spend something from the address.

"I just posted my password phrase in a public chat in FB".

the problem is that he was not clear : was it only his password, or its seed phrase?

if it was his password, no problem at all without the associated address, and outside of any client.

if it was his seed phrase, much bigger problem, inviting to open a new account and transfer the content of initial wallet.

My question is i been using the waves lite client on my laptop for a while.  I want to use the desktop one as everyone says the lite client is very old  When i created the desktop client, it ask for me to enter a new password.  So said this password could be the same as the old waves lite client or a brand new one.

Now let say i use the same password as the old waves lite client.  If i do this, if i log into my waves account either with the old waves lite client or the desktop client, i do this with the same password correct?  I know this should be 100 percent yes.

But let say you used a brand new password for the desktop waves client compared to the old waves lite client.  When you log into the desktop client, you obviously enter the new password.  But let say you want to use the waves lite client instead which is still on your computer, do you use your old waves client password or the new waves client password that you created for the desktop client?

Isn't it the latest trend? They make a particular promise and when they see their members reaching that target, they either change the rules or slash rewards

Hello, the password should be the same for Desktop and Online (for new Client), not related to Lite Client anyhow. And you can change it when enter your account with the SEED-phrase.
