Hardman - Tuesday, June 19 at 2:57 PM
The Ravencoin ‘Legal Fund’ initiative

Some might've noticed some rumors and talks about a community initiative to get a 'legal fund' setup. This fund will only be used for 'legal purposes'. Such as paying lawyers to review Ravencoin as a whole & give their opinion in a memo. Today is the day I'll officially announce the start date of this initiative. Which will be on: Thursday 21st of June.

I hear you thinking, what is all this about???

The idea got started after seeing that Ravencoin had troubles with his/her trading liquidity at exchanges & the community members having trouble with depositing and withdrawing their beloved Ravencoin's. In order to get Ravencoin better liquidity with exchanges that are more trustworthy the remaining step was getting a legal opinion with a statement that Ravencoin is not a security. To fix this rock on the listing process we decided to setup a community driven ‘Legal fund’. Funding the 'legal fund' will be done by miners, pool-ops & investors who are willing to donate.  I first made sure we would have the pools on board, to make sure this initiative would be backed by the pool-operators themselves. A list of participating pools will be listed in another message below.  Then after having quite a few pools on board I checked the animo level among the whole community with three main questions. The scores among the questions will also be listed below this message (they were positive!).

While receiving a positive response on the questions and having several pool-ops on board we decided to continue to pursue the initiative. The decision has been made to collect at least 800k RVN up to 1000k RVN. This will be collected at a multi-signature wallet, which consists of a 3/5 wallet. Signers include admins/moderators & community admins from this particular discord. To make it clear, the company Bittrex has tipped us to use charges 20k USD for this legal memo. But we are considering multiple options to obtain a valid legal opinion.  Feel free to start hashing at pools donating parts of their pool fee's or make a small donation yourself to help Ravencoin a little further.

The donation address that will be used for this community

OK ...

Even after we suggested and offered and posted and listed, you have STILL yet to mention us and our pool, STILL have yet to contact us on ANYTHING that you have spoken about, STILL to even consider mentioning us and our pool option in any form whatsoever.

So the 'big' mining pools are all you give a damn about? Is that how we are supposed to take it? This lack of care does not bide well for the type of community funding you are trying to put together, when all we have done is try and support the coin and community in every way possible, yet ignored ALL ALONG with your lack of recognition.

This proves a number of things to us as a company, least of all that you even consider the people willing to put their commission and systems to promote and fund you.

Amazing!!!

It certainly doesn't do a whole lot to inspire confidence in a project.

Ravencoin is now ready for cross-chain dapps with the Blocknet Protocol!

Now that RVN is compatible with the Blocknet Protocol, it can be used in cross-blockchain dapps and traded on beta Block DX!

You can read more about Blocknet, the Blocknet Protocol, and Block DX here:

https://blocknet.co

https://sites.google.com/view/blocknet/directory

To get started with trading on Block DX, follow this setup guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ciwLFSXwv6CXd3QEvVW88lHXo9CSIlweYOoSbDHkies/preview

The setup is in the process of being automated/abstracted so it's much easier and streamlined to use for beginners. In addition to that, in July we are planning to release SPV support which will allow for the creation of litewallets so whole blockchains will not need to be downloaded

those spam posts should be deleted. They say nothing, it is just spam and I am already sick of them.
Isn't there a way to get rid of them? It is always posted by members with very few posts.

From what I have read the x16r also is being promoted as a shifting algorithm. Does the algo actually change actively or will it just be changed via fork later down the line?

I just saw the text below on the icemingpool discord channel. Thought I would pass it along in case anyone is using that miner.
Quote
teamnosleep - Today at 9:48 AM
@everyone There have been several reports now of people having their wallets hacked after downloading Delosminer. The wallets auto transfer maximum funds out to hackers address once amounts of 5k - 10k are met. Anyone who has downloaded it already should transfer all funds to another wallet and clean install OS, burning the original wallet.dat. Delosminer is obviously communicating with wallets after downloading. Issue persists even after removing miner. Recommended miner for x16s/x16r is z-enemy. It has been tested and no malicious bugs reported that I know of. Wallets hacked after downloading Delosminer have been REEF/RVN/PGN all x16s/x16r coin wallets look to be at risk.

Why are you bitvhing on Bitcointalk? Take it to Discord. I'm just the messenger. You know to reach Hardman:

Until then just chill Dude - your pool is pretty new. Who knows you?  Try making friends. If you play nice, I'll throw my humble hash with your pool. Although I would like to see it up, running and hitting for a month first.

“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked.

“Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

New?

I personally have been around in the CryptoIndustry from almost the beginning of the inception of Crypto, with the CWI-Pool system being around for many years now Smiley

Though you are correct in saying that the Pyroxene Mining platform is reasonably new, CWI have been around for quite a while. It was not an attack, but merely a take from our perspective.

As for Discord, that is not as easy as one would think in a corporate network that uses a proxy like we do - Squid. WebSockets are NOT supported with Squid, so just by basing the communication on a IM platform that is NOT accessible on a network platform that most will use in at work or in most corporate systems, is not the way to drum up more support. We cannot access discord servers unless we disable the proxy all together, and that is not going to happen anytime soon, so most corporate networks use Skype instead, which has NO ISSUE with access through a proxy like squid. You are cutting out the majority of corporate users (yes - majority. Especially if you think that you have a LOT of users now, think again), simply by forcing a discord channel that is inaccessible to those in a corporate environment.

In any case, the RVN pool on our new platform Pyroxene (A component of the CWI-Mint Group -https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3829887) has been around for many many weeks now, with only a portion of our mining farm (theFARM) testing it, and successfully solving blocks. Even with successive posts about our pool, and the functionality of such a pool (this is NOT a Yiimp based copy and paste pool system like all the others seem to be now from youtube Video tutorials), NO ONE from the Raven community (least to say the ONE person that controls this thread and can edit the OP) has taken then 25Seconds to edit the OP and add our pool to the list of mining pools.

This is what I am saying with regards to care. Community driven projects supposedly as this one is, should be much more open to the community space, and not restrict the lines of communication to ONE form of IM, or ignore those others helping out in even a small way.

So 'chill' I am, but to continually ignore my posts here, and our help, simply means that any help we may have in future will be withdrawn, rather than offered, and that becomes something that is NOT community based, but private. We know - we have a few private projects as well as community based ones.

So discord will not happen with us, or any others that you cut out simply by using that ONE and ONLY channel to discuss anything regarding the 'community help'.

Thanks anyway, I really do appreciate your time to respond,

Of course it is ...

But YOU change the network systems EVERY TIME that happens, and see how far you get with that?

We need to setup a special server, and a special system to put in place that bypasses the proxy altogether I think. It seems that the frivolity of those IM systems have taken over the 'oh so difficult' methods of the tried an dtested and STANDARD environments of the corporate systems. Ho Hum. The things we do.

Heaven forbid indeed, just to get the help of companies that can move this MUCH more than others. Once again this SHOWS the complacency that the 'community' Raven have behind them. Silly in so many ways, yet so 'big' that you are more complacent yet STILL ask for help from those that 'heaven forbid' can't change their corporate structure.

Point made and confirmed just by your statement alone.

#crysx

Heaven forbid that you could occasionally use discord to contact people outside of your corporate environment.  I mean, it's just not possible is it!?

#crysx
Who's asking you to change anything about your network systems? I don't operate within a corporate network and I can access discord just fine thanks. I guessing you have the same capability because hopefully you do not spend your whole life within that corporate setting. But no, it's too difficult. Easier to bitch here about it. Maybe you could influence things better by initially using the established communication channel.
Don't expect everyone to conform to your requirements just because. And I don't recall anyone asking for your help either. You've offered a pool, one of many, but won't step outside your environment to communicate.

Amazing!!!

Crysx,
Why are you bitvhing on Bitcointalk? Take it to Discord. I'm just the messenger. You know to reach Hardman:
Ravencoin Community Discord

Until then just chill Dude - your pool is pretty new. Who knows you?  Try making friends. If you play nice, I'll throw my humble hash with your pool. Although I would like to see it up, running and hitting for a month first.

Once again ...

Your response just simply reinforces my points above.

Care factor - zero. We are FAR more than 'just a pool' but you wouldn't know that, as your knowledge is as limited as your points. We are one of the major holders also when we mined right at the beginning with theFARM (another of projects - fast becoming one of the largest GPU farms in the Southern hemisphere), as well as an infrastructure and soon to be one of the driving forces behind the global shopping systems for crypto. hence the reason we were interested in Raven in the first place. So 'just a pool' is NOT what we do or what I was pointing out, it was the attitude people like you have towards those that provide effort behind the scenes AND don't ask (let alone get) any accolades for it. Silent workers like us, our team, and the company behind us, benefiting the communities within the CryptoSphere, with clueless people like you berating us as we go along.

What do you know about anything we do? Evidently nothing.

I'll respond no longer to your poor excuses for 'reasoning'.
