Hello  Everyone!
I'm pleased to announce the next release of https://ravencoin.network/
It has some new features you will certainly find useful:

- Pools Statistics!!!:
Detailed pool statistics historically going back to the start of Ravencoin
charts that show the share of blocks won by pool, for the last hour, day, and all previous days.
NO MORE UNKNOWN HASH mysteriously eating up 40% of the global hashrate!!!!
- Network Hashrate:
Historical charts to see the performance of Ravencoin's mining community
- Node list:
Showing all currently connected nodes that are talking to the Block explorer.
(very handy for manually adding nodes to your raven.conf)
- Expanded API calls:
    see more at  https://github.com/underdarkskies/insight-api/blob/master/README.md

This project is supported directly through donations from the community. RD7yadeCvSDs4fCbEPuHstU3GHbiS7ao9q

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/comments/8vjrr9/x16r_available_at_nicehash_and_new_release/

We are announcing a new algorithm available through NiceHash Marketplace - X16R. Buyers of hashing power can already start placing orders. X16R is currently used for mining the Ravencoin (RVN) and Motion (XMN).

To support the latest addition to the NiceHash marketplace, NiceHash Miner has been updated to version 2.0.2.5.

This release brings the following changes:

Updated excavator to v1.5.6a

Added algorithm X16R for NVIDIA cards

Optimized Lyra2Z algorithm for NVIDIA cards

Added button to enable excavator logging

Various bug fixes and improvements

NOTE FOR MINERS: The X16R hashing algorithm consists of 16 hashing algorithms operating in chain fashion with ordering dependant on the last 8 bytes of the hash of the previous block. This means that miners will see substantial differences when checking for hashing speeds (because different hashing algorithms have different hashing speeds). This is normal behaviour and does not have any effect on the profitability.

Hey All:

updated pool list as of today: https://github.com/underdarkskies/Pool_List

Thank you so much ...

Pyroxene (theMINE) is the name of ours (ChainWorks Industries), and whether there are miners or not, we appreciate the addition to the git list. You are the first and ONLY one to do so thus far.

Please send me (or PM me) your RVN donation address, I would like to send a token of our appreciation.

hmm is this good?  I dont think it is as it will add a ton of hashpower raise diff and rvn mined will be sold right away for BTC as per nh....  feels like this could drive price down?

should make this algo nicehash resistant, those tards that buy hash when diff is low to screw regular miners of coin then leaves when diff is high then just waits for low diff again

Totaly agree!! NiceHash and multi-algo miners are cancer of crypto.

people focus too much on anti asic where networks attacks used nicehash and other hash rentals to underpin decentralization and do double spending, we should boycott nicehash and other hash rentals or devs can make the pow work like they cant exploit low diff, like get in on low diff the when high diff kicks in they leave and rinse n repeat and makes other miners who is consistently running the network get less because we are left to run the network on high diff and they get in on low diff

RVN coin is the better POW coin since 2018, and many miners are mining it.

That sounds like a joke but it's a sad reality, there are many lazy miners who are giving hashing power to thieves and, maybe unknowingly, create problems to coin users and faithful miners who want to support a coin.

I haven't tried NiceHash, I just read through their fees and "reward" scheme and realized it's not profitable nor healthy for the ecosystem to work with them. I've tried some multi algo pools though and after a month of trial I made sure they are thieves.

RVN might be ASIC resistant (AFAIK) but unfortunately as long as people use NH and the like there will be diff issues.

ok than why mining going down if diff is the same? from 310 to 230 in 1 month.. my mining rig is the same?does anyone have similiar experiance with rvn mining?
Most probably your pool.
The amount of blocks it is getting and time intervals between blocks, total pool hashrate the number of workers, your share rate, etc.
E.g.
If difficulty the same but you are getting less... and your pool is getting the same amount blocks - it's probably because there are more miners or higher hashrates taking more shares of each block reward or your hash rate has dropped or your rejected shares have increased.
or...
If difficulty the same but you are getting less... and the pool hashrate is the same, check that your pool is still lucky and getting the same amount of blocks at the same time interval.
etc etc.
You have to know your pool well to understand what is happening and test other pools if you see that you are not getting what you think you should.

FPGA mining cards and because someone has paid over 7.5 million USD to develop asics with FPGA integrated to handle the algo change. This also means asics are now theoretically
re-programmable making them more versatile, capable of jumping from coin to coin.

They work more shares so they take more coins.

They have slowly built up as people have left to mine other coins, making GPU payout lower while maintaining relative difficulty and net hash.

This also means price will continue to drop overall in the short to medium time frame.

No Algo is asic resistant. Asic resistance is a fairy tale.

Asics have a very short half life, so you'r not being told as the asic developer/purchaser needs to protect the investment on the asics until they hit their ROI target.

When there is a large amount of FIAT to be earned, you will never be told the entire truth, especially in an age when trolling public posts is more important than sharing facts and understanding.

example:
Fast forward to 12:45

It's ASIC resistant.
...not ASIC proof, FPGA resistant, or FPGA proof.

just another "lol" coiin xD
Hmmm...
interesting in-depth analysis of the algo and white paper.
To elaborate for the noobs...
Once the hard fork occurs to incorporate the lol-beta which will 2x the use of the letter "i" in the word "coin". RVN will moon.

What the hell is happenning with the price of RVN. It’s driving me nuts. Is it another story of price manipulation?

I don't understand what's wrong with the price of RVN specifically. I see that every coin first fell a lot and then the last 6 days or so has been increasing in value little by little.
RVN had an about average price action in comparison to other coins, even considerably more positive sometimes (again, compared to other coins).
It will happen.
Currently it is a miners coins it will need to also become a traders coin and an investors coin.
Miners love mining it and purchasing a little bit more when the price is low.
There are a few investors and some traders.
Once more things happen e.g. the Asset layer and large exchanges, which will help it get in a few headlines more investors and traders will come.

It is indeed very true when prices are on the bottom, an awful lot of miners coins bought it for investors.

fpga has been mining since last year and is why theyr pushing for anti asics so that they retain there edge against gpu miners and theyr secretly doing that ever since and were just pawnd beleiving about going against asics while they gigglng at the back while mining with fpga

all the while people dont know before asics are developed they prototype it first on fpga until they get the optimized setup
