Hello guys,

Do you have any idea why the prices goes down ? Is there any bad new or scam risk ?

Thanks

This guy who posted a few days ago has a good explanation with which I totally agree.
In short, RVN gives miners good reasons to get involved, but few reasons for investors. Also there are not enough exchanges available for traders to jump in.

What the hell is happenning with the price of RVN. It’s driving me nuts. Is it another story of price manipulation?

I don't understand what's wrong with the price of RVN specifically. I see that every coin first fell a lot and then the last 6 days or so has been increasing in value little by little.
RVN had an about average price action in comparison to other coins, even considerably more positive sometimes (again, compared to other coins).
It will happen.
Currently it is a miners coins it will need to also become a traders coin and an investors coin.
Miners love mining it and purchasing a little bit more when the price is low.
There are a few investors and some traders.
Once more things happen e.g. the Asset layer and large exchanges, which will help it get in a few headlines more investors and traders will come.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I can't believe I bought some @600-700 satoshi not so long ago. It doesn't matter now. I would rather prefer to delete my priv keys instead of dumping them for pennies.

Being a decentralized coin is all good. We don't need massive paid shilling, that's OK too. But one way or the other, we need a story of what is going on about the project. Without a story, people will just lose their interest and that's a natural process. Can't blame them for this.

We'll get our story back when Raven does a hard fork and gets assets, I hope.

Burstcoin is also like Raven. Developing, developing and developing more and yet nobody's shilling. Shills come in handy sometimes, they keep the attention alive. It is sad that I am the expert when it comes to find shill-free coins.  Cool

About nicehash,

You don't need to worry about it. Nobody will use nicehash to mine raven unless raven goes very high in a short time and stays very profitable. I am not seeing it. And mining a coin which changes algos constantly is not something an average nicehash user would want to see. (They want stable income, not interested in lotteries)

Nobody will bother with FPGA's neither, again unless Raven becomes very big, it is not happening.

I lost interest in Bitcoin in 2011. It got boring and I slowly lost my private keys over time.
If you are pessimistic right now it is understandable but just put your private keys somewhere you can access them in a year or more and you can come back a happy man.

Tis' the Month of Test net.

June Dev Updates:

Week ending 6/9/18
Finished asset data caching
Finished raw transaction API + assets
Fixed iOS wallet sync bug
Worked on increasing the block size from 1 MB to 2 MB
Working on the TXIndex working with assets
Working on bugs when using linux
Working on the ability to reissue assets
Re-enabled and debugged some integration tests
Added consensus rules for asset inputs and outputs
De-bugged miner tests

Week ending 6/22/18
Fixed issues with multiple functional tests
Completed asset name validation for ownership
Completed reissue assets
Added asset data to RPC calls
Updated asset caching
Updated block size
Working on getting iOS wallet ready for testing
Working on RAW RPC calls

Chatturga: Jun 29
The increase in block size was done primarily to allow more data per block once voting and dividends are implemented.  We expect that these two features alone will create a large number of new transactions, and it is better to make the size change now with the asset layer since it requires a hard fork.  Additionally, raven will be ready in the event that BTC adds features later (that are imported into raven) that requires a bigger block size.

The only thing that Freddy has going for him is that he isn't a bot. Or is he....

When prices go to down, the angry come out. Multiply that anger with lack of knowledge and you get Freddy's post.

“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked.

“Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

That's better thank you.

They aren't killing it directly though they need to pay for their production just like any POW coins facing the same treatment, so you can't blame it on them.
It is the whole crypto environment downturn.
The coin needs more buyers (traders and investors)
The miners will be holding a lot also. It would be nice if they can hold it all but that is not realistic.
I'd say that the lack of volatility is not attracting traders. The decentralised nature and lack of exciting news plus the general downturn is holding it back short term. It's not dead though.

Do you hold any, mine it, or want to own any... or you just here for the fun?

This is a realistic price for the coin at the moment.

The real purpose of the Raven blockchain is right there in the title of the ANN thread, Asset Transfer. We are waiting on the DEVS to test the Asset Layer and once they are satisfied it can go live. This is when the coin actually has value.

Currently what the miners are doing is creating a strong robust network, so that there is something secure behind that Asset Layer.

The problem right now is that there are so many miners out there who just mine for the profits that day. Nothing inherently wrong with that but with a high volume of coin generation per day it can really drive the price down. So, no RVN isn't dead, some of the initial hype of the x-16R algorithm has faded and there is a lul between noticeable developments from outside the community.

People just have to decide if you want to get in early in hopes of seeing the project go further, do you mine something established to get a fairly setamount unless you HODL ( and for how long), or do you go chasing the pumps of random "coins of the day"

There is an article that says Patrick Byrne from Overstock invested a lot of money in this coin. Is it true? This is a POW coin so the question is when did he make that investment? When it was on exchanges?

Not sure which article you mean, but yeah overstock is invested heavily in RVN. I believe they mined it super early on, they may have also bought some not sure. RVN has been on exchanges for months now.

It's very simple-miners, do not sell the coin so cheap . You're killing a good coin ! You can say whatever you want , but the price of the coin plays a role for interest in the coin . There is a psychological minimum, after which interest in the coin disappears .Don't kill the good coin !!!
