Pools are a bit dodgy at the moment, not sure if I should just go solo and hope for the best (i.e. get nothing!)

There's a discussion on bitsharestalk about an issue where CLI clients are crashing.
It wouldn't surprise me if the main protoshares instance backing the pools are having a hard time staying online.

is the pool beeeeer working? been mining for 20h and over 2500 validate shares and not a single payout feels like something is wrong?

yes its working, I have been payed out with 0,5 Protoshares 3x Times = 1,5 Protoshares in one day with a AMD Prozessor 4x 3Ghz.

I think the mining process of Protoshares isnt fair, because I was one of the first miner and only got 3 blocks in that time. Who the f... has minted all the coins in the first days ?

Basically, you'll need to add "momentum.o" to your make file.

I am finding a lot of ORPHAN lines in the log file.

What is more, when I left three hours ago, the GUI was stuck for ten minutes reporting that the last block was generated 1 hour ago.  Now it says 5 hours ago.

Recompiling solved the problem.  I have compiled the QT binary and protosharesd.  I will send to you for the distribution price of 0.001 BTC.  I will include all of the libraries it links to.  There are 39 libraries I will have to include because who knows which libraries you have on your system.

Same here, I was among the first people who started mining, and I too got 3 blocks.

Same hers, mined from the first minuts of releas until the pools came out (two days later or so) and only found 2 blocks (core i7 with 8 GB ram @ 17 hpm)
I think it was due to the low difficulty... the one with the faster internet conection got all the blocks...I had 12 rejectet blocks (that means I found 12 blocks, but untill my internet got them send to the network someone else found the same block at the same time and got it send faster, so his block was execepted while mine came in just slightly to late)
