Is there a way to mine from the command line, or do I have to have another useless tab up in my browser?
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Unlock your account and close the tab without locking it. Now you're mining.

What version should I use ? 0.3.16 or 0.3.15 ?
I can't connect from both versions anyway. No active peers for some reasons.
It was working well before I updated.
0.3.16. Check console for errors.
http://s21.postimg.org/98udh8pnr/Sans_titre.jpg
One of the nxt files is corrupted. Rewrite *.nxt with corresponding *.bak files. All 3 files must be rewritten.

Removed everything and retried.
Still stuck. No connection.
I'll try from an other computer later.

Have you waited  5min or more? It sometimes takes quite a bit until the first peers/blocks show up in the GUI (it sometimes happens to me)

Just to see if I understand hallmark, if I set it on a server that server will be "mining" on behalf of the hallmarked account without needing to unlock the account?

No.

Ok... Smiley

Can you spare a few more words to explain what it is then? I feel like it is something terribly obvious given the lack of verbose explanations, but I honestly don't have a clue.

Ah, sorry. Hallmark has noting to do with the mining. Its purpose is to mark legit nodes.

The node has been blocked by the owner. This thread explains it:

On YOUR online wallet? Smiley If it's http://88.198.210.245:7874 then it's MY online wallet. U r supposed to install ur own client. I blocked access to my node coz we have too few nodes.

You realize why, right? On the wiki, the localhost link leads to your node. anyone following the wiki will create their node and then proceed to use yours anyway, because of the wiki.

Ok, fair enough. But the reason I made this confusion was:

Quote
HOST_WEIGHT - "weight" of the host, u can have a lot of hosts marked with the same account, weight defines what part of the balance will be used (weight/Sum_of_all_weights). If u have only 1 node then it will use 100% of the balance

So, is this weight a 'how much the network should trust tis node'? I just assumed 'part of the balance will be used' was pointing towards mining.

I just updated the wiki as well  Grin. Also removed the link to CYB's host from the 'NXT Basics' section.

I've given permissions to access my node. For a day. I hope most of users will install their own client.

This might be a stupid question, but:

Is there any increased risk of being "hacked" if your wallet is unlocked & mining versus staying offline?

I have fiat again lol
Trying your VPS link now..

Side question: Sometimes I send coins and I see in my transactions a TXid while having 0 confirmations.
When confirmations >=1 the TXid is lost!!

No. Just unlock your client and then you can close the browser.
