I think this link to the nxtfiles.zip must be put right next to the nxt.zip download link in the first post, and explanation given: you can download all the blockchain by yourself or download nxtfiles.zip and unzip the recent blockchain into the nxt folder. At least till the sources of the software are revealed to the public, there is no harm in doing that. Otherwise too much time is spent on giving every user the same reply instead of coding software. Just my 2 NXTs Smiley

I disagree. This will lead to centralization, also these *.nxt files could contain fake data that transfers all ur coins to my account.

Well, you still post that link occasionally, and users would still download it if they want too. Until the sources are revealed, we have to trust you anyway. Besides, those files can be uploaded directly to nextcoin.org website, or would that also be centralization? I know you may be afraid to be accused of centralization and such if you upload it, but really, users would be happy at this stage to initiate as seamless as possible installation of the software.

Or maybe you're right, your approach teaches users concepts of decentralization and security from the very beginning, but I was just worried it triggers too many same type of help requests from users taking precious time from the developers' primary work, that's all.

In my case every thing is fine. But from three days always shows "You can generate the next block in 646 days 2 hours 18 minutes 59 seconds" (it changes between 700 to 300 days). If this continue, I can't mine any thing forever.

So, please let me know how can I fix it.

This is Proof-of-Stake mining, where you stake (amount of money) matters, not a power of hardware.
So answer is: buy more money.

Today my home server got OOME and damaged blocks.nxt.
I installed 0.3.17, reverted blocks.bak, deleted peers.nxt, started server and got tons of orphans.
So I decide to delete all .nxt files. Now decetralized network don't give me blocks, damn it! Smiley I dislike centralized downloads too, so stay server running and waiting. May be other servers don't like me without hallmark?

@ miners: next version will include activated hallmark protection for outbound traffic, u may see increased rate of orphaned blocks if u don't mark ur node.

i will be boring  but its really bad for nxt.

beta software is usually installable. this produces errors 80% of the time. this is alpha software by all means and the developer should accept more developers to help him. (not offering myself, busy)

sorry but the truth should be told.

Delete peers.nxt.

Delete peers.nxt several times, still can not connect to the network,
when i check netstat -na, i can see connection established and disconnected immediately

Let's try this trick:
- Remove all well-known peers except 88.198.210.245

C-f-B, you know what? I'm getting blocks slowly now Smiley See a lot of peers, but many of them are two, three or even four times in active list. Most "listed" are nxt.airdns.org and 88.198.210.245.

So it will ban from mining stakeholders behind NAT?
