Yeah, I meant it works for those zombies?

If u switch hallmark protection off then ur node will start picking peers randomly like all of them have equal weight.

Right. And zombies too. So I better keep it to true Smiley

Working on node infrastructure with a full redesign of nxtbase to support 100+. I won't open source my new management stuff for a bit, but here's a handy one for you VPSers running ubuntu.

Code:
$ sudo apt-get install --yes supervisor
$ sudo service supervisor restart

Then copy file like this to /etc/supervisor/conf.d/nrs.conf:
Code:
[program:nrs]
command=java -Xms$MIN -Xmx$MAX -jar start.jar
autostart=true
autorestart=true
stderr_logfile=/home/$USER/nxt/logs/stderr.log
stdout_logfile=/home/$USER/nxt/logs/stdout.log
user=$USER
directory=/home/$USER/nxt

Replace $MIN and $MAX with your memory limits. Replace $USER with your user. The run:
Code:
$ sudo supervisorctl reread
$ sudo supervisorctl update
$ sudo supervisorctl status

Now, what do you get for your efforts?

Restart on crash
Restart on reboot
handy commands for start/stop/restart/status (sudo supervisorctl CMD nrs).

Cool huh?

Thanks!

I am in negative now ?? there was 59000 on my account, wrong blocks?

I had the same problem. Scared the hell out of me.

Solved by restarting client.

Yea that was weird... just happened to me too. Account went to negative balance and it looked like the coins were sent out, restart fixed it though.

This deserves to be quoted again, thank you! Edit: Lol, just noticed someone quoted two posts earlier.

Set "communicationLoggingMask" to "3". It's in web.xml.

just a question. i bought 30 hours ago 85 nxt over dgex.com and transfered them to my nxt wallet. After 2 hours my transaction has only 1200 confirmations. How long does the last confirmations take so that i can forge my coins?

cheers,

1440

i mean how many time does the last 240 confirmations take? The FAQ says about 24 hours for all confirmations.

One block/confirmation per min on average, so approximately 240 min left

thanks for the info.

Hallmark weight depends on amount of NXT on signing account.

Tried to put some more known servers into your config? People post them here from time to time, e.g. the one in my sig.

Config is in {nxtroot}\webapps\root\WEB-INF\, web.xml, wellKnownPeers tag

With a lot of good public nodes, getting the whole blockchain from genesis on should run fast atm.

Yes, but it can be just 1 NXT in the hallmarking account.
It's better than non hallmarked.

I have added a node, nxtra.org - but it doesn't seem to load the blockchain.

When I go to the web interface, it starts off with a nullpointer exception and shows "recent blocks - 0". There are active peers though, after a while.

And when I check in ssh, the blockchain.nxt and transactions.nxt are > 9MB / 6MB. This seems to be correct, but why is the web interface not showing this?

I've found an issue in peer address sharing mechanism. I forgot to uncomment code that checks peer address before sending it to other peers. This increases time required to find legit nodes coz the attacker floods the network with IPs that look valid but don't host NRS. I'll release a new version in a couple of days, now I'm going to sleep. If something goes wrong, don't panic, I'll fix it next morning.

Hallmark weight depends on amount of NXT on signing account.

This is another reason to fix (or provide a workaround for) the security vulnerability which discourages large stakeholders from leaving their accounts unlocked.

The account must be unlocked for the hallmark to take effect, correct?

You can add any of mine:

162.243.214.68
95.85.46.164
162.243.216.55
162.243.143.15
95.85.46.249

They are all up to date and hallmarked each with 100NXT, I've been checking them throughout the day so far and they seem fine.

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550
At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community.
This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.
