It's still a center. Just another form. With construction of representative hirarchy (lazy coins and active ones) we can get exactly in "Google" scenario. I suposse it's not an option. Winners of any voting just get bigger than losers (winners'll decide and losers'll shut up). In decantralized network IMO there could not be winners or losers. Each peer, each coin are equivalent in real power (there's no more powerful peer than others, there's no more powerful coins than others) with some restrictions by opensourced protocol that real people agreed too: like locked coins or penalty for non-forging.

Just for the public to know, I already received 400K from Pouncer, 400K from Neer.gh and 97K from klee, which I keep to supply the posted bounties (video-article-whitepaper) and the giveaway (which shall run until the end of 2013). Neer.gh promised me to donate 600K more to secure the source for paying the bounty awards.

I have an idea: perhaps we can invite stake-holders to offer to the community their interest to fund some partnership projects. For example let's say I post a proposal in the bounty thread offering 3M Nxt to anyone who can create or bring a poker platform running in Nxt, so he/she and I may become partners and start a business together and share the whole ownership and future profits at let's say X% and Y% profit (it was just an example, I am not really proposing this personally), or a digital good shop. This has a lot of benefits, enlarging Nxt marketplace and popularizing it, distributing the initial investment fund into that economy and finally benefiting the stake-holders more and last longer than with a raw sell-dumping at this or that target price. This will also creates jobs-funds for interested developers to use their muscles into building the blocks.

I am already working on this..I talked to come-from-beyond a little about it..right now I am in the planning stages. Real p2p decentralized poker platform funded by stake holder and it pays dividend to its stake holders..Based on my plans I should have the user interface functioning and out within a couple of weeks and full application in 8 weeks. Also worth noting that although it would be a primary nxt application, you would also be able to fund your account with bitcoin and two of the top alternative tokens.

In the old version 1295619013897570058912956190138975700589 would be interpreted as 6667516829191161453. Now it gives an error.

Nothing stops. U have to send an outgoing transaction from that account to secure it.

CfB keeps hinting on something fantastic coming from BCNext on the use of these 20 digit short accounts, so I doubt what you ask will happen.  Although I wonder if this fantastic thing is the ability to mine for that 'hiberNXT' whenever curve asics become available.

We don't integrate some sort of CRC because of saving a tiny bit of memory in the core code and because sort-of-CRC could be done in a/the client, right?

No, because in the core and when sending across the network the transactions are already signed with the sender public key. Any corruption in the transaction content would automatically invalidate the signature.

So what? Buffer, from which recipient's address is taken could be corrupted, user could made a typo.

Maybe somebody don't understand. One can make a very easy experiment: send small amount of Nxt to a known address whith one digit randomly changed. Such transactions are accepted and gladly confirmed by the network. That wouldn't happen with Bitcoin or any of it's copycats.

There is only one proper solution for that. Extend Nxt address with (preferably) 4 bytes of checksum. I'm not a Java developer, I don't know details (and I haven't read the code), but I stronly beleive there are readily available classes for big ints, use them instead of primitive data type which is apparently being used for addresses now. Or write your own class. You need a method to take significative part of a new address, method to convert old address to the new form. From block XXXXX use new addresses, make proper conversions when you deal with old blocks. That should be easy.
