Just to keep people aware of interesting DOGE developments, you can now send and receive DOGE via text: http://fido.pw/One of the reasons that DOGE is taking off is people are getting easier access to it and using it to do stuff. What would it take to make text tipping work on NXT? To sum up our weaknesses, the NRS client is cumbersome to install, and our wallets are brain-only and subject to theft via user error. We need to make using NXT so foolproof your girlfriend can install and run the software from a smartphone or tablet. I have seen some promising proofs of concept, but we are behind in the easy-to-use front. I share this with our fellow Nxters in the hopes we'll see some kick-ass clients and apps soon. Hinnom, check out my post a few posts up.

@Come-from-Beyond
Any news relating the mixing feature?
No news. It's good news, right? Depends. If we have a solution, it's good. If we don't, then it isn't. What's the current status? I dropped out the other day because I needed some sleep. https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=701&start=20

great is it not proof of stake?? "There is no question that NXT warrants its own category, as the world’s first alt-altcoin entirely based on Proof of Work. " it is proof of stake. he probably knew also just typed it wrong. i do it too sometimes.

Perhaps the devs can put a larger bounty request tip offer together. BTW, I think the 1 NXT fee should not be circumvented. The original transaction network should be used for just its intent: handling transactions. It's only a $0.06 cost per transaction. When it becomes $0.50 then the community will need to re-evaluate the fee.

I agree it shouldn't be circumvented if the network is handling the tx. But the way I propose, it's the software that's handling it, not as a Nxt network tx, but internally. And the site is the one running the software.
Still does encourage more Nxt transactions by getting people to deposit and withdraw.
EDIT: Maybe you could elaborate on what you want for SMSes in the nxtcrypto thread?

SWARMERS NEEDEDDue to the lackluster community effort for SWARMing projects I have setup this in an attempt to form a always active SWARMing group. Given the upcoming articles and posts that will be about NXT over the next weeks this is very much needed: I am looking for 30 SWARMers that will do as instructed in terms of commenting and upvoting/liking articles, posts, videos etc. The goal is to have at least 30 people to comment on certain articles and posts that need it. There'll be a 1000 NXT bounty for every 20th SWARM you participate in. All you need to do is send me an email at nxtorganizer@gmail.com so I get your email in my contacts which will make it a lot easier to send out calls for SWARMing. The way it'll work is very simple, I will simply send out a chainmail to the SWARMers with instructions on what we need a comment/upvote on, then after you have done so, just let me know by sending a quick reply back where you provide the username you used so I can keep track. When you have participated in 10 such swarms you will get 500NXT and then another 500NXT after the next 10 swarms. bump

Deadline: 28th of February, 2014. This could be very important for adoption of Nxt in the developing world where SmartPhones and/or computers are a rare luxury. This should be very high priority, with an accordingly high bounty.

We need to rattle a whale a little bit.....I get the feeling from Miami that NXT got some really effective exposure there, and the direct connection to the wider crypto-business community is gonna be invaluable over the long term. I think that we should make conferences one of the first marketing priorities for right now. Advertising to a wider audience can wait for a month or even 6, when we have an absolutely rock solid client(s) that Joe Public can use and a range of advanced features in addition to the "use as money" feature of every other alt-coin. So, I say, conferences, Yay! And I say yay to Ebereons solar RaspPi as well. If we have a booth, we need one of those running on it. Eb came up with a prototype price of €215 per fully set-up unit. If Eb can commit to making some more, can we give him some cash for them? Maybe he can start a RaspPiSolar factory...... Ideas: Custom engraved RS enclosure, NXT logo....maybe a "forging in progress" LED I'm going to put up a Berlin conference thread on nextcoin.org, maybe we eurotrash can use that as a place to post(or repost) all Euro conference info as we run up to the Berlin event? And then over to Amsterdam..... I've asked for a speaker slot or at least panel slots for NXT at Amsterdam, haven't heard back yet. Who would be willing to deliver a talk or participate on panels for either A'dam or Berlin? And don't look at me....I'm good at arguing, not so hot on the precise technical details.

When I spoke to Elizabeth (Bitcoin Magazine) from the Bitcoin Conference she mentioned she'd hook us up with their new writers. She followed through and we sent as much info as possible. Congrats to everyone for the effort. http://bitcoinmagazine.com/9826/nxt-proof-stake-new-alternative-altcoin/Working on a comments swarm right now.
