EDIT: Big thank you to everyone who donated to the wiki contributors fund.

Salsa, think I shouldn't be on the list. I'm helping to maintain just the English wiki, and write new articles for it. I haven't done any translation work. And Joefox has already sent me 5000 nxt for my work so far. (Wouldn't mind any extra though Grin)

Now if someone with better Japanese knowledge than me would start on Japanese translations, I could help with that as a secondary...

Is this the fund for NXTcash?

I think that's a question for James, not me.  NXTcash is a project he is very interested in, I think, but it is only one of many projects that would be vying for funds from this account.

Alias NXTcommunityfund = NXT Account 13776816462073143763

I think the community fund is entirely separate from the NXTcash fund. See:

...

At the high level I think allocating the NXTfund one third to tech, one third to marketing and one third for tbd is what makes sense.
...

On the tech side, there are many new competitors and NXT already has in progress features that match or exceed almost all of them. klee has rightly identified zerocoin functionality as a strategic feature and put 1 million NXT of his to make it happen. I agree with him and as you know I am actively working on that project. What other significant tech features are needed to make NXT have everything it needs? At this point the only significant missing piece I see is a whole set of DAC's to combat etherium.
...

At the time of writing the 1 million Nxt from klee was already worth two thirds of the total community fund, only one third of which was allocated to new tech projects.

...

This is great data, thanks, some of my earlier posts pegged the Raspberry at 4W per node.  So what kind of power supply are you using - just an ordinary wall transformer?

Yes, it is from RS-Online 5V/1,2A

If someone is interested in power consumption of a RasPI-Nxt node, here is my overclocked RasPI-NXT node with optimiced clocks an voltages + wlan adaptor:

Now the green people can calculate the power consumption of the NXT network if they would run on RasPI's Wink

Greets,
eb

EDIT: This is measured from wall!

Ebereon, you should consider writing these two article requested by salsacz for bounty:

Help Nxt by writing Articles

Is here anyone, who would write excellent and long articles about:

...

- How can you mine Nxt only with solar energy?

- Nxt + Raspberry (+other similar platforms (Cubietruck)) (can be different articles, also short articles) (0 energy  forging package)

...

You can make reservations on these articles.

Nobody? This is quite open bounty before we ask people directly and make them by our own Cheesy

you can post it directly to the NxtMarketing thread:

I think we could have 5-10 articles about green energy in next 2 months...

You can provide only some basic texts, others can add some more technical info, grammar corrections, so you don't have to be afraid of the language. Then we will try to publish it at important news sites, also with cool infographics.. Smiley

As i can calculate the mining ratio? as does the explorer blockchain.

As the formula? % and NXT?

Thank you!

EXTRA: API is needed to see if X account is forging (even if only limited to the node itself)

Wiki translation bounties calculated

I get to be Santa tonight!

This is the final list of scores for wiki translations for December 2013 and January 2014.  The wiki's "permanent home" was established near the end of December, so we're putting the two months together.

Top prize goes to Damelon, who contributed 16% of all translations on the site... but there's a little something for everybody who contributed translations.

I'm going to start sending out rewards right away.  Totals and transactions are all here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkfSNgBIzmvXdHcxSnBMUkp3bWFubzdfVmJySGVTX2c&usp=sharing

If you own one of the accounts for whom no account info is available, send me an email from your wiki account using this link to prove your identity and supply me your Nxt account number

Attention whitepaper math geeks!

Joefox has powered up our wiki. We now support LaTeX and can do really geeky things like

We also have a quick guide to LaTeX. Not sure if everyone who needs to use LaTeX already knows it, so I haven't written much yet. If anyone needs a more in-depth tutorial, just let me know Smiley

NXT @ bitcoin magazine:
http://bitcoinmagazine.com/9826/nxt-proof-stake-new-alternative-altcoin/

"With the growing popularity of cryptocurrency, the future looks very bright for NXT"
This is a great article about NXT!

Are we in contact with eco-friendly charities? If any of them accept bitcoin, they need to stop and switch to accepting NXT.

brief recap

Bounty 100000 NXT for each of top 5 DAC's
Need community suggestions for the set of DACs that will make etherium least relevant

James

I will list them up.

Pin
Thanks!

Does eMunie have any features that NXT won't have after nexern's client comes out? I am not so worried as emunie's hatcher system seems to ensure supply will always be there to match demand, but not the other way around. I just can't see how that won't create a large downward pressure on price, but then I am no super economist like furseleer

Just to be safe, I want to make sure NXT will match up feature for feature against all challengers. NXT's TPS will make it so that in all comparisons against other second gen crypto it will win as long as we can match all the top benefits of the competition.

We just have to make sure we at least tie them on technical functionality and NXT will be to the other second gen crypto as BTC is to the other firstgen.

BOUNTY REQUEST TIP OFFER

Tipping software and API wanted. Give and ye shall receive! Details at https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=710

jl777, is this compatible with the bounty contest you guys are running? I'd like, as an experiment, to see if this can work without a large guaranteed bounty. But at the same time, I don't like denying bounty hunters the chance of joining your contest. What do you guys think?

I think a tipbot is a great idea! I am not familiar with how DOGE tipbot works, but clearly it works. I don't see how this affects the DAC bounties. We still need to define what DAC's will get the bounties. If you need more NXT in your bounty to get people to develop a NXT tipbot, let me know. I doubt anybody would be against having such a thing.

You are right in that the creator of the tipbot will probably get the most tips of anyone, so the bounty will just be the first NXT gained from doing this. If there are more than one person involved and it is a big enough project, they might want to cooperate.

Of course, we are decentralized, so each person gets to decide how they want to proceed.
