How can you make that mistake? I've seen most of the people tell you to store bitcoins in an offline device and don't install any 3rd party into it and encrypt it with a password. Sad to hear it though i hope he return the fraction of it.

Of course, it is very unpleasant to lose such a large amount of bitcoins. But I still think you're ignoring your safety. When it comes to your own money, you need to be more serious and a hundred times to recheck everything.
May I ask what you mean by ‘my safety’? If by safety, you’re referring to my Operational Security, I don’t know why I lapsed in inputting my BTC seeds. Minutes before I had sent ONLY my previous seeds to a trusted 3rd party to spilt the forks, I was attempting to split. Why I input my primary BTC seeds, I cannot fathom. As for storage, my thought 2 weeks ago, was to split up the locations, but due to the needs to explore my two Ledgers and multiple previous wallets for tax transactions, I hadn’t gotten around to it. Bad excuse, I know. That amount of coinage wasn’t all on one Ledger for long. I’m sickened by the fact that I thought I knew how to handle data securely. I knew not to install questionable software. My judgement lapsed there as I was lulled into only d/l ing Apple App Store software ONLY. I know better, yet misstepped there. I’ve also been reevaluating storage of seeds and their OpSec. Bank safety deposit box? Could get confiscated. Home safe? Could get stolen. Behind picture frame? Could get burned down. With a Lawyer, Family Memeber? Meh... Bury them with a treasure map? Seems like a recklass decision. Having ones Bitcoin distributed far and wide seems best... suggestions are welcome. I do believe I understand the Security lapses AND the nuances involved with what led to them. It sickens me.

Cautionary Tale: I messed up. Big time. Please don’t pile on harder as I’m already sick to my stomach.
NEVER EXPOSE YOUR BTC KEYS/Seed to an forked wallet.
Two days ago, I attempted to split my BTC Diamond and BTC Private. I could not get it.
At some point, I exposed my Ledger Nano with my BTC on it, to each of their Electrum Wallets.
Last night, my wallet was emptied of ALL my BTC, 13+ coins.
Here is the transaction.
Transaction Identifier: d96a7dcd9775456e36938ed2cb84e9d0cac46fad14b8c95008ed77d08f9f8de6

Here’s a signed message so you know I HAD controller of the wallet. I’m not scamming, just utterly sick to my stomach for losing 13+ BTC.

It appears that I have now lost my entire life savings. I’m not begging for a handout but rather attempting to warn anyone new to the space. I’m sick to my stomach with the loss and my only hope is to gain the attention of the culprit.
If you have any space in your heart, please return the BTC. I’d accept a fraction of what was stolen. Please don’t completely bankrupt me.
That is very saddening on your part. Having a good security of your account is really a necessity in terms of securing your wallet of your bitcoin. 13 BTc is also a large amount and losing them is really devastating. I believe you put all your security measures to protect them.

Hi JollyGood, I’m sorry if my lack of response is out of the ordinary. I have been following along with each post. To be quite honest, I’m utterly devastated by the events that have led me to this point. Never have I felt such a magnitude of anxiety and depression. I’m a good man, work hard, and have a generally positive worldview of humanity. This experience is truly testing that worldview and its cross with the functionality of Bitcoin. To have made mistakes so tragically unforgivable is a really hard thing to swallow. I don’t know how to find a steady breath and heartbeat again. I’m so freaking devastated with my mistake, I don’t know what to do. I can’t sleep. I can hardly eat. My mind is garbage at work. The world is really dark right now with my belief in humanity, at the margins, at an all time low. If anyone knows the person who holds the keys, I’m begging from the bottom of my heart. Please don’t wipe me out. Hey Billy, I'm guessing none of our condolences is going to make you feel any better. I know it's a long shot, but you could still try send messages to those wallets, especially where the majority of it is stashed. Make your plea, grovel, I don't know. Ask. Thieves have been known to return some of it in the past, hackers have a sort of complex which can sometimes be appealed to when acknowledged. If it helps, try to think of the amount you actually put it... not so much the BTC value. Get some help, talk to someone. Get someone else you trust to monitor your wallet for any possible messages back. Take it easy now. As for security suggestions and considerations, do them now if you have any other coins. But remember what DannyHamilton said in the very first response to your quote. Don't risk everything. Keep enough or convert enough back to fiat. And keep that in a bank as cash guaranteed and insured against theft. Bitcoin is still an experiment, to be treated as one.

The world is really dark right now with my belief in humanity, at the margins, at an all time low. If anyone knows the person who holds the keys, I’m begging from the bottom of my heart. Please don’t wipe me out. Trust me our sympathies are with you. The odd person here has been somewhat rude or has made fun of your predicament but 99% feel sorry for your loss. No one has wiped you out but apart from highlighting exactly what went wrong, what you did and how much you lost there is nothing that can be done here. If you exposed your private keys via malicious software you have to retrace your steps and let everyone know step by step what you did in the hope others can avoid doing the very same thing. That would be generous on your part as newbies would learn a lot. About your actual loss, everyone comes to terms with losses in their own way and in their own time. I completely understand you when you say you are a hardworking person and right now you must be feeling sad, depressed and of course anxious. I hope you come to terms with it in due course. I suffered losses when a crypto exchange shut down and stole thousands of peoples coins, that was years ago. As a result of that I had a few years away from cryptos until Bitcoin started rising and I fortunately dug out my old laptop to find private keys for mostly useless crypto but along with that was one crypto that covered all my losses during the whole investments I made and coins I lost. Hopefully things will turn for the better for you. Now one thing you have is the address where your stolen funds are sitting. The other thing you have is the name of the fork. You can contact their support team and ask them to look in to it and if they have that bitcoin address associated with an email address/name/location of an individual in their database as a customer. If so, you can write back here and we can advise what to do next based on what you come back with. Most crypto thefts leave nothing to go on except an addresses where stolen funds were sent to. At least you have more to go on. Try to channel that sadness in to activity, try to focus at least on contacting the forked coin team and update us here.

He revealed his secret keys, while his ledger wallet still had BTC. Broadcasting that to public knowledge, or a corrupted/compromised electrum wallet in order to get forked BTC coins. Consequence, BTC got stolen from ledger wallet.

As an additional warning to those that are new to the space... If the amount of value that you are holding in crypto is such that you would be devastated if you lost it all, then you are holding too much value in crypto. These are experimental, volatile, and risky protocols. Do not risk your mental and emotional well-being. I really wanted to get myself reasonable enough to keep this in my head but sometimes there's just something in me that says invest in crypto as big as possible because the money is there. Perhaps this is sheer greed or the desire to just make some progress in life. Bitcoin even went as high as $19,000 and still I did not even withdrew a small fraction. I hope it will get back soon so that I will be making withdrawals. Just the same with the OP, I am saving a certain amount in crypto that would really bankrupt me totally if stolen.

I am very sad to read your writing. But do not despair this may be the beginning of your success. Be patient and start from the beginning again make this a very valuable experience. Do not be too harsh to think about losing it will not make your BTC back. You will be sick and stressed if you think about it.

If you, repeat again you think you can see them writing it. There's no point in risking your Bitcoin to get some dollar bills. You just lost a lot of Bitcoin because of your stupidity but did not claim a fork coin. But you can move and get back up. I know all your life savings.

I am really very concerned about what happened to you. Lots of Bitcoin that you have actually lost and taken by people who are not responsible. But I really can not help you and I think 13 Bitcoin you will not be able to return. Because the thief will not want to return it at all and you can not hold anyone accountable. Hopefully, you can be sincere and one day you will have more Bitcoin. I'm sorry to see it

We are sorry for your lost, we all know that hacker will never return your money just like that. You have no choice but to move on and start for the beginning. 13BTC is the very big amount but we cannot do anything about your lost, that's the lesson to learn that we should be careful on what we are doing.

how can you lose that much bitcoin? I think it's a mistake that happens from yourself because of carelessness and the possibility you too often install some software so you do not feel if your pearangkat embedded virus that can drain the contents of your wallet.
