What sort of power draw at the wall are you getting with your OC at 600 MHz? Nice to see temps so low, but it makes sense considering the miner draws just about 270W stock at 220v and they didn't have to use two full size fans to cool the thing.

Again, not at home, so no idea. It's a 30% oc so I'd guess in that ballpark.

LOL, my order was literally five minutes outside of the first shipment... 22:26.

My order time is also just outside of the shipment but my payment time is much later because my BTC transaction didn't get picked up in a block for like 20 blocks or something.  The screenshot they show is weird though if they mean payment times.  I would have expected the payment times to have much more duplication and be spaced further apart.  I realize people could pay in more than just BTC but shouldn't orders be grouped according to block confirmation times?  Some of them are in groups of 6 or 8 or so at the exact same time, but the groups are just seconds apart in some cases which makes it not look like they correspond to block confirmations.

Oh, and re: temps, at stock I was in the low 40s with the fan barely running (it was super quiet, I could barely hear it from like 15 ft away). Once these become unprofitable they will make excellent space heaters.

Eh? It's in the pic I posted (antminers generally overclock by freq settings).

Unless you mean the fan setting? I left it on auto for now.

sry, never owned an asic before, i somewhat assumed that overclicking it would be same as GPU. I bought quite a few Z9s, can't wait for them to arrive

Congrats on your arrival.

Looks like it might be time to pack up my good old Radeon 7950/7970 when these units are all powered up. Had those GPUs since 2013 or so.

They mined BTC for a while... then LTC for a while ... then Darkcoin for a while... then Ethereum... then.... ZCASH... and now with ZEC gone it only leaves XMR until the botnets raise the difficulty.

Can you share some pics of the unit and miner status screen please?

Not the unit (i'm not at home), but it looks basically like a shorter version of the X3--no front fan with a mesh screen that goes the whole height, probably about 2/3 or less the length. Here's the status screen oc to 13K:

Very nice, congrats. I missed the first 77 Z9 shipments by 1.5 minutes. So I am guessing you weren't able to use a coupon since I didn't see that option for my first order but subsequent orders after an hour or so had coupon option?

For quality risers, splitters or 133 CFM fans, please visit my eBay listings,

Well, mine arrived. Pretty darned quiet and low temps, even with a bit of overclocking. I think these can climb pretty high OC wise, especially in an environment where noise isn't an issue...

So far I haven't been able to run it on any pools other than antpool, though, which sucks. 0 shares on nanopool for ZEC and suprnova pools for ZEC, ZCL, and BTG, on 10-20 minutes each, even though all three read as alive (all shares get rejected). Instant 10 shares while revving up on antpool. Guess I'll leave it there for now.

Too bad that I live in an apartment, so these ASICS are probably not going to work for me. Unless the Z9 is about as noisy as the GPU fan on my 1070. That is all that I can tolerate.

At stock, once it's done booting (about half to 2/3 the noise of an A3), it quiets to a whisper. Honestly I think it would be fine in an apartment, I have it running overclocked in my living room right now and my GPU rig is louder...

Very tempted to try. However, the available batch doesn't ship out until late August or September. May have difficulty achieving ROI with that late date. Especially if all the Equihash coins start forking to new algo. That's what I get for not striking while the iron is hot.(However, the noise concern wasn't resolved until today.)

Honestly I have my doubts this first batch will ROI without a rise in the coin value (unless you have cheap or free power). Maybe grab a coupon or two from a board member if you want to buy one.

I have heard Zencash may not fork, but I know BTG will, which is why I'm bummed I'm not mining it right now while I can.

Aren't you getting about $30/day now?

Are you overclocking in the main control panel or with another tool?

Sounds like you earned some serious coin with those cards over the years!

Hold on to them. Bitcoingold will fork, and Zencash may.

Also XMR is pretty profitable since the fork. Not, you know, AS profitable, but still.

According to whattomine, around $40 w/ the overclock, but that won't last. Also I'm not sure that I actually am, the antpool doesn't seem to record earnings the way they say they do. It's really rather sketchy, I don't trust their pools at all, and I'm eager to jump to another when I can figure out what's not working...

EDIT: and just with the main panel. The only antminer I know of that doesn't have at least SOME control over oc is the B3.

The situation with X3 repeats, many popular coins change the pow, but some of them try work with asics and see for the situation.
Some peoples think what asic coins have the big future how btc ltc...

Ah, gotcha. With antminers you CAN modify the firmware or miner, but you can adjust the frequency in the panel. You don't have as much control, but it works fine.

Except the B3, that doesn't have a frequency panel.

Just had mine delivered.  I cannot get it working with the ZEC pool's for Suprnova or Slushpool.  Error is something related to "extranonce"..

On Antpool, the "dashboard" after 20+ minutes shows nothing - so although am getting some shares accepted, I can't see assurance from Antpool's dashboard that they are being recorded..

The fact that this doesn't work on all pools is a bit disconcerning!

Please do your research before stating a "rumor."

Can anyone pls comment on official ZEN statement on ASICs and changing algo to ASICs resistant, but in a short quick way.
whats the TLDR version?

Thanks.
Potential Equihash Algorithm Change Preparation

Modifying ZenCash to use Equihash-144-5 is doable, and the software development team has started identifying the specific work that would need to be done in order to create and test this change. It would be a Hard Fork change, and for optimal success of the Hard Fork, it would be best to implement such a proposed change as quickly as reasonably possible before too many ASIC miners take over the hashrate of ZenCash.

Well, looks like their so-called "testing" before shipment wasn't done very well.  Looks like you'll have to wait for a driver update to mine on other pools.  In the meantime, BITMAIN will earn more coins from you by forcing you to mine on THEIR pool.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
