Z9 working with nicehash. Had to set the difficulty manually. Still playing with that though.

How are you setting the difficulty manually?

in the password field where you add the stratums under the control panel menu you add D=yourdesireddifficulty

i guess you have to test it as no sources are available for it yet, try several digits like 1000, 5000, 10000 and so on and see how it works out, than fine adjust.

What kind of results are you getting with various difficulties? At the standard, I was getting around 2/3 my hashrate, and about 40-50% rejected shares, so I just said screw it and went back to antpool for now (because I have work to do), but if you're seeing better results I'd be into playing with mine tonight...

Would you mind sharing your NH BTC address so we can see what it looks like pool side?  If not, a screenshot would suffice.  Thanks!

Still like to see a pic of the unit.  I understand it has a single fan and is a lot shorter than the S9's.

Yeah, lets get back to these not working on all pools.  So this is what we have so far:

Not working
nanopool for ZEC
suprnova for ZEC, ZCL, and BTG
slushpool for ZEC

Working
antpool what coin?

What about MPH?

What about NiceHash?

Here's the best I could do. I got my gf to snap one with my old S5 next to it for size comparison.

Looks like the same size and footprint of the L3 units.  The L3's were nice and quiet so this will be a welcome addition.

Well I thought it was working. But after a couple minutes I start to get a bunch of rejected shares.   Still working on it.

Here's the best I could do. I got my gf to snap one with my old S5 next to it for size comparison.

Thanks!  That's a tiny fellow.  Man your S5 looks like you worked it hard for many years and then dropped it down a mine shaft.  Cheesy

Flypool works very well for ZEC.

Not a single rejected share in the last hour and ten minutes.

Chip temps are at 55c. Fan speed is 3000rpm.

Miner avg hashrate is 10.94KH/s. Waiting for the pool to give me an accurate average. But it's working great so far.

Also, the frequency is adjustable in the miner settings. Default is 500. I'm not going to touch that yet.

Sorry mate, but mine didn't arrive yet or i would share my experience.

I just gave you the direction how it works with each miner and the difficult settings in the password field with D=difficultynumber

As it's a brand new miner even the pools will need time to find out the optimal settings for it .....
Later, many pools will post the best suggested difficulty settings on the setup page. Have in mind that than the suggested settings are for the factory settings in case  you overclock you should adjust the D= with a higher value to get the best out of your miner.

Thx for the merit by the way  Wink

You know, you're always bitching about Bitmain.  But yet GPU mining farms are buying cards by the 747 full.  Give AMD and NVidia their best profits ever.  The manufactures just card about making money, any way they can.

ONE FARM did that dude.  Not "s" (plural).  One damn farm.   ROFL...

Hey, GPU v ASIC keyboard warriors, give it a rest. Why spoil a product thread?

This is NOT a product thread.  This simply said the Z9 Equihash miner has launched.  That's it.  Does not say one bit about it being solely for technical discussion.  The title implies it's a discussion about "launching" of the Z9.  That's it...

I have heard Zencash may not fork, but I know BTG will, which is why I'm bummed I'm not mining it right now while I can.

Please do your research before stating a "rumor."

What "rumor"? Everything I've read says they haven't decided yet.

EDIT TO ADD: here's a good summary list for Z9 owners (note that it is not maintained by a dev, just a user):

https://www.reddit.com/r/zec/comments/8h14ms/equihash_antiasic_fork_every_equihash_coin_and/

You are NOT reading comments.  The statement was about ZEN Cash.  NOT ZCash.

I'll quote Z E N "Co-Founder" once again:

Can anyone pls comment on official ZEN statement on ASICs and changing algo to ASICs resistant, but in a short quick way.
whats the TLDR version?

Thanks.
Potential Equihash Algorithm Change Preparation

Modifying ZenCash to use Equihash-144-5 is doable, and the software development team has started identifying the specific work that would need to be done in order to create and test this change. It would be a Hard Fork change, and for optimal success of the Hard Fork, it would be best to implement such a proposed change as quickly as reasonably possible before too many ASIC miners take over the hashrate of ZenCash.
