Hi guys I'm new in this forum and I do not know how it works.
I need a hand to start my asic miner cube, I tried it already with two power supplies for computers and the miner will turn on and the fan part, however, one of the green LED is off and the computer does not recognize me.
I went in 2 computer shops but the coach did not know what device it was, the conclusion is that the technician probably my miner is bad because it has tested the power supply and it worked perfectly.
Now I do not know if I trust his opinion since I do not even know who he was and then machine it replaced before I ask someone a bit more experienced than me.
please help me I do not know what to do to get it started.
thanks in advance. greetings. (I'm Italian I'm using google translator, I hope it's understandable)

Guys my miner was working at 38gh fine, now its back down to 30? Any reason why and how can i increase back to 38 again?

Are you using a stratum proxy, by chance?  When that happens on mine, it's usually because the proxy is stuck sending diff1 shares for some reason.

After a restart (or three) of the stratum proxy, it will start sending higher diff shares again (starts at diff3 and climbs) and hashrate goes back up.  This is just my personal experience with Cubes and stratum proxy connecting to Eligius.  Also, purely anecdotal, but I use the "-rt" switch with mining_proxy too.  I'm pretty sure I only get diff1 shares w/o it, but really need to confirm thisConfirmed, diff1 shares only when I do not use "-rt".

Jobe7 - did you make sure it hadn't reset itself from High to Low clock?

claudiofoggia - Plug in both PCIe connectors before turning on your power supply. After kicking that on, you should see the green Standby LED come on, and a few seconds later hear a click from inside the Cube. If your power supply is good enough, you should see the second green LED come on. Are you hearing this click?

babaji.ca - my first test setup I stuffed some 3300uF in the connectors and it worked fine. I had screw terminals off my power supply, so I mounted the caps there for a more permanent installation. This was behind about 12" of leads between the supply and the Cube and still worked fine. So really, anywhere in there should be alright.

If there's no clicks, there's probably an issue with the relay or relay driver - or something more serious. You did put the fuse in?

What do you mean about the -rt? Will that help as I had 2?

Hey all, back again! lol

I've been able to mine alright with OZC as well as the free servers herehttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292170.0 for several hours at a time. But of course those have been temporary solutions while I've been trying to get the mining proxy working properly.

After spending a couple hours messing with all the command line switches imaginable for mining_proxy.exe (-gp, -cu/-cp, rt, -nm --old-method) and changing to different ports. I stumbled upon a version of bfgminer compiled with libmicrohttpd, so I was able to use the --http-port 8332 trick. This brought an interesting cycle to light. Basically my proxy is connecting out to BTCguild without any issues, however when my cube comes into play it causes a reconnect for some reason. Making the cube think that there is no available pools, causing a vicious cycle any time it connects. Thinking that it was my router getting in the way, I disconnected all other devices with the exception of the miner and the host machine, and turned off any possible firewalls on the router. No dice however. Any ideas on what might be causing it?
(BFG is currently listening on port 8339 to prevent any possible conflicts that were on port 8332)

Thanks in advance!

Is the fan plugged in correctly?  When the fan is unplugged only one of the green lights will light up and the asic will not hash.

It totally depends on your setup.  Do you run a stratum proxy?

I run a stratum proxy.  The cubes connect to it.  This is the line i use to start my stratum proxy:  mining_proxy.exe -o stratum.mining.eligius.st -p 3334 -rt -q

If I do not add "-rt" then I only receive diff1 shares.  Processing diff1 shares is terribly inefficient.  It creates so much network and process overhead that it reduces my max hash rate.

Sorry, Im kinda a n00b

Welcome Noob, this is what works for me

mining_proxy.exe -o nl1.ghash.io -p 3334

of course you have to put the full path to the file in Your.bat file.

Thanks for the guide. Had to go get 2 caps today in order to get my Corsair to power up, but it is now hashing @ 35GH/s and climbing.

I will echo the sentiment about checking the cube's heat sinks. First thing you need to do is pull the back cover off, pull the guts out and check each heatsink. 75% of mine were loose or already out. Simple to do and lets you see the inner workings of the cube, which is cool.

Hi, would this PSU power 3 cubes at full overclock with no issues?

http://www.microcenter.com/product/397764/AX1200i_1200_Watt_ATX_12V_Power_Supply

I am not sure about if /what the 12V rails are powering, the 8 pin or the 6 pin graphics or both?

I thought i read in the specs something about 12v powering only 8 pin..is that possible?

please let me know if you have an answer.

thanks!

Excellent PSU, I have one running a Intel 3930K and had no problem running benchmarks with 3 MSI GTX 580 Lightings that pull 350watts each at max. My rig would shut down with a 1000watt PSU, not with AX1200i  Grin

Yes, use only the "PCI-E" 6 pin connects to run your cubes.

What does it mean if the cube received jobs but the accepted/rejected numbers stay at 0?

EDIT: Actually it does start working but then it gets up to 37000 MH/s and then it starts going downwards towards 22000 MH/s and then it reboots itself. I have all O's on the chips though. Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem when I tried to run on the high clock setting. Got a better PSU and problem solved. My guess is its power related.
