IS it true these can only be setup on a 192.168.1.0/24 subnet which is non configurable?  Will it not pick up DHCP off a different type of subnet such as 10.0.1.0/24?

It has no built in DHCP client, so, no, it won't "pick up DHCP."  They are static IPs only.

Set a static IP on your desktop/laptop to configure them if you have to.  Though the default setting being a common router IP is a bit silly IMO.

I have tried to trouble shoot for days but I can't seem to get to my cubes settings page.

Here is a shot of the router settings:

Here is a picture of the usual error I see when I try to connect:

Here is a picture of a screen I sometimes come across but nothing else loads:

The status light clicks on and stays solid red
The SB Pwr and Pwr lights are lit and solid green
The Ethernet lights are solid orange and flickering green.

I'm using a Lepa N500 5ooW power supply.

I'm pretty sure I'm just missing something small but I'm pretty new to this so if you know what I did wrong and can explain like I'm 5 it would be appreciated.

Have you solved this yet?

If not, I'm assuming it has to do with your number of users allowed. I had to change my number of users to incorporate the .254 IP address. Hope that helps...

i ran that but it gave an error

File "c:\Python26\lib\site-packages\py2exe\boot_common.py", line 92, in <module>
ImportError: No module named linecache
ImportError: No module named zipextimporter
ImportError: No module named argparse

There's more text in there but I think you get the idea...am I supposed to have a bunch of other stuff installed and running?

i'm not so clued up on python, sorry.

you can run the stratum proxy with the following command line

"mining_proxy"   it defaults to slush's pool so you only "NEED" the port settings for other pools.

You can also add the -q switch, reduces the amount of crud it prints to the screen
and the -rt switch, allows the difficulty to vary according to the  power of your cube.

Have you got the Python runtime installed?

I downloaded and installed Python 3.3, tried running the stratum proxy, same errors...uninstalled 3.3, downloaded and installed 2.7, same errors.

You wrote "you can run the stratum proxy with the following command line"....what command line?

Hi guys, still having trouble here. I re-looked at the instructions on Slush's pool:

Installing the proxy is pretty trivial:

Download official Windows binaries (EXE) or source package for Linux.
Run downloaded file. Console window will appear and proxy automatically connects to the pool. No command-line parameters required.
Now just change the URL in your miners from http://api.bitcoin.cz/ to http://localhost:8332/. Miners connect to the proxy using the old protocol, but the proxy talks to the pool by the new one!

"Now just change the URL in your miners from http://api.bitcoin.cz/ to http://localhost:8332/."

Any idea what this means and where I enter this data? I'm completely lost.

your path\mining_proxy.exe -q -rt

That will, by default connect to slush's pool. The -q switch reduces (not stops) the amount of crud sent to the monitor and the -rt switch allows for variable difficulty which reduces the network traffic and the load on the server.

I'm hoping someone here can help me with my four cubes. I have had nothing but problems since I got them. They are running in a data center with the proxy pointed to Ghash.

Two of the four cubes are running on a AX1200i because anymore than that the PSU shuts off-these will stay running
One is running on a CX750M, this one will stop running and require a hard reset once every 12 hours.
One is running on a EVGA 750B, this one didn't last longer than 3 hours last night.

I have tried pretty much everything I can think of:
-Rearranging the cards inside the Cube;
-There is no damage and the cards have no X's
-They were working from the seller perfectly, but once shipped to me they start to cut out;
-Heatsinks have been tightened, and the cards have been placed in the slots;
-Tried the capacitor trick;
-Tried new fuses.

If anyone has some insight it would be greatly appreciated, and possible tips.  Smiley

Thanks!

You have two cubes on the AX1200i that remain running perfectly, correct?

Swap the other two cubes with the ones on the AZ1200i.  If the ones on the 1200W PSU stay happy, it's PSU issues.  If not, it's cube issues.

Alright, I will do that next trip to the DC. What kind of issues could the cube be having? I'm getting no X's when running only O's. Thanks!!

What do you mean by cutout? They hard power off, they aren't accessible via network, they are accessible but stop mining?

If three are connected to the 1200, the PSU Shuts off completely.

The two CUBES on a separate PSU become inaccessible via network, stop mining, no status light, and only the top green light is on.

The two CUBES on a separate PSU become inaccessible via network, stop mining, no status light, and only the top green light is on.
Cubes are quite unique in their loading profile on startup. There is no low power mode, it just goes BOOM full load, causing a spike. The larger PSUs have technology to not turn on when there's a spike as that typically means a short. The only solution is to run only 2.

Probably similar with the two on the other cube, its just too much spike load.

I got this cube from a member here on the forums. For him the cube ran perfectly. For me, the cube says 'DEAD' (in red color) on the bfgminer window after a few hour run. Then, I restart the cube and restart bfgminer, it all works perfectly for the next 3-6 hours, and then repeats 'DEAD'.
Any suggestions?

I want to put my two cubes in my basement that has a temp of 48 to 58... would that cause any thermal damage if the cubes shut down and went through a rapid cool down... Just playing the what ifs so I'm making good decisions and not putting my toys in a dangerous situation ..

If they were ever powered down (or even the case wasn't warm enough), condensation would form on the inside. When you next powered up, everything would short. Avoid it, or put them in a cardboard box so they can keep themselves (and the air around them!!!) toasty.

My immediate take on this is it's a power problem but not necessarily the power supplies. Are the PSU's all plugged into the same circuit (they may be on different plugs which are on the same wiring circuit). Thats a lot of amps to drag off one circuit especially if you are 110 volts (rule of thumb is, if you double the voltage you halve the amperage needed to do the same amount of work)

I am so confused here.

I picked up one of these cubes. I have plugged it onto my cable modem/router.  At least I assume it's also a router as it has wireless capabilities and has 4 Ethernet ports.  My computer is plugged into port 1 and I plugged the cube into port 4.  I navigate to http://192.168.1.200:8000/ and can access the cube, so I'm assuming I'm right up to this point?

I've downloaded mining_proxy, and I've tried to modify it with no success  I'm also totally lost now and getting frustrated.   I'd just like to set it up to work on bitminter.

I've been wading through all the comments and I just get more and more confused.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

*EDIT*

I'm just looking at the instructions that came with my modem, under advanced gateway settings it says http://192.168.0. I'm assuming I need to change the subnet, even though I can access the cube?  Whenever I do try to change any cube options, I get: The parameters are updated or the system is simply restarted!

Whenever I try to change my modem settings my internet goes out.

*edit* (sorry for all the edits, just trying to give the most info I can)

I'm reading my modem through firefox through 192.168.1.x. I'm assuming the subnet is now correct?
