Yes, I'm currently doing the best I can re-doing the site.

We do need some more Globe threads advertising it's success and potential. I can only do so much  plus these sort of threads coming from me would be considered "spam" and promotion from the coin OP but when it's from you guys it wouldn't.

On another note .

Can we get some trades happening here : https://www.newaltex.com/exchange/glb_btc .

If your selling place a couple sell trades. If your buying place a couple buys here as well as poloniex

Lets not forget how hard we tried to get onto an exchange. Now we have two, lets not let these opportunities slip  ! !

Hello Sphere,

I believe that GLB is in for a great start.  I prefer slow increases than pumps and dumps.  Since both exchanges are online for GLB, we have seen an healthy average of 1.3 times profitability for GLB against BTC.  That is almost double of any other SHA-256 coins on the market!

We have been over 2 months online now, I think the GLB community (shareholders - hahaha) - would like to see a report of where the 10% for dev-team and marketing went so far.  That is almost 100k GLB.  With the website, we know where the 10% for Reserve and PSM are - that is good.  We still have to continue the conversation of where to put it in escrow...

But for Marketing, we know that you did a lot of Giveaways, bounties, etc - that is ok - that is what it was intended for.  For the dev-team... I haven't seen any improvement on the client, or anything like that.  Could you provide us a report for this last 10% of the tax?

We know you are busy, but your are the "Great Kahuna" of GLB!

Best,

Hi,

No problem. It's important you guys ask questions to keep from me or people in my position in the future getting corrupt. So yes you all can see the break-down of the reserves and stabilization.

I want to really run the 10% dev-team tax almost like a private company. So I don't intend currently on showing all the nitty gritty giveaway numbers. To be honest, to this point I have not calculated how much I have spent on giveaways and bounties. You will continue to see an increase in marketing efforts after the site is up. I intend to buy ad space via BTC ad providers such as BTC-Clicks etc. Yes, you can therefore see I have converted some GLB into BTC so we can purchase BTC goods/services to advertise.

As for development this has been a bit of a nightmare. Their are only a handful of alt-coin developers, you can probably count them on both hands. Due to the demand for alt-coin developers and only a few with the skill, they require lots of BTC to get things done. Due to the low GLB exchange rate the tax Is simply not enough to cover the cost of getting really cool features up and running.

As I increase advertising spend and hopefully get more people buying GLB it will push the price up, meaning I can employ great devs or offer very good bounties using BTC.

If I can't find a developer to implement the price stabilization and reserves soon, I may just do it my self. Probably, taking longer then a professional developer to do and not being of the same coding quality.

Hi it loads sometimes and other times does not. I think they are transferring to a new server and it's taking some time. Should probably be fine in a couple hours... I think.

Hi everyone,

I converted 5000 GLB into 0.2 BTC and sent it to the Reserves and price stabilization.

This should maintain the 50/50 tax split for the coming week.

To be specific I sent 0.1 BTC to BTC-RES-1 and 0.1 BTC to BTC-STB-2

You can view a breakdown of the conversions here :
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsDRovxlwu5AdHJZTG5rM1R0UmRqQlVscjhXSEJyTnc&usp=sharing

You can view the reserves and stabilization here : http://www.globecrypto.com/#where-are-taxes-going-to

I have also started added the date and will continue to do so Smiley .

GLB/BTC trading pair (from Poloniex) is now followed by Cryptocoincharts!!

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/main/priceBoxes

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/markets/show/poloniex

Have a look at the website - great place to get historical trading information, graphs, trends, etc for all coins, all exchanges

This is great, thanks for making it happen.

I added it to the services page : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404067.msg4373471#msg4373471

Also, anyone know why we have such a high difficulty ? Don't see a huge increase in the pools ....

Could any of you try to get GLB added on coinmarketcap? You need to fill in this google docs sheet to do so.

I am having trouble finding the url for the total amount of coins? This is required. Also bitcointalk messes up the url of images, so could you (sphere) host the logo on the Globe website (I guess he needs the logo without letters).

EDIT:  I suggested to Sphere to convert the Price Stabilization Mechanism, into a permanent Charity Fund, that Globe could use to attract attention in the media, but most importantly to change people's life on this planet. Something like the Water Project, which have sustainable projects all over the "Globe".  That is something that could be discussed in the forum. We could be the only currency with a "Donation built-in every block!" - that would be unique.... one drop of water every minute...

I say no to the permanent charity fund, that's essentially asking miners to donate their hashes to something they won't see the benefit of. It sounds noble and all, but let's be real we're all here to make money. It would also be too easy to alienate miners and investors if they don't approve of the charity. On the flip side of that, I feel it would make it too easy for an investor to exert their influence to get the charity of their choice to receive the donations, "or else". One last thing, other than the name the price stabilization mechanism and inflation are what makes this coin different from most of the rest, and that's even a stretch now that Doge has 10k block reward indefinitely. If it wasn't for those two things I wouldn't have bothered with Globe and I'm sure others think the same. What needs to happen is to get the price stabilization in place because as of right now this coin is not really different than any of the other coins out now.

We can try, but GLB only has about $27k market cap at the moment - we would be at the bottom of the list (2nd page) - not a good place to start, in my opinion. Once GLB price increase, once we display more unique features, once we can explain the importance of a Reserve, then more miners will come and everything should fall into places.

Globe is doing well at the moment, it is mining at par with BTC profitability, and most of the time over that.  GLB is also trading on average 2% of its market cap, daily - which is very good for an SHA-256 coin.  Some alt-coins don't even get 1% (BTC is usually around 0.5%).  I consider heavy trading to be around 10-20% of market cap - like UNO recently. But before that event, UNO was at less than 1%, and UNO has been on both CoinWarz and Marketcoincap, forever....  Scrypt coins trade usually higher at around 3-5% - scrypt miners tend to be more BTC swappers.

GLB is still young, patience...

The question that they are asking is the real time number of coins issued so far - I don't think that we have a block explorer yet, so we don't have a url for them to use. We can ask Sphere.  Individually, we all have the capability to find the answer, by typing "gettxoutsetinfo" in the Console of our wallet client. But I haven't seen anything automated that extract that variable.

If your question was related to max cap, I don't believe that there is a cap for GLB, just like any other normal currencies in the world. However, the release rate of the currency is known and controlled (unlike the $US).  So, GLB max cap is as good as any other crypto-coins that takes 40-50 years to be released, like DEM, FRK, HBN.  In 40 years, there should be around 100M GLB (if you want to use that as a metric) - or about 2.6M per year, plus the 1% inflation factor.  I think it is better than DOGE that will see over 90% of its 100 Billion coins released by June 2014 (similar to ZET at 99.5% released - and look at where is ZET now...).  In my opinion, rarity is not what gives the dollar or the Euro its value, it's not even what gives gold its value.  What gives value, is a mix of, the cost of production, some good "Branding", usefulness, ease of use, stability, and other factors like this (like, if you made it to the Olympics or not...but even that wears out after a few months)

I think an addition to coinmarketcap is a great way to get more attention to Globe, even though we would be almost at the bottom of the list. I think every cryptocurrency either stands or falls by the amount of people who are interested in this coin. Having a few people who are really active and trying to get this coin to take of is great, but it won't happen until there is a big enough community around them. That is why I would like addition to services like coinmarketcap.

Also there already is a block explorer over here (as mentioned in TS), but I don't know how to show the current amount of coins in that explorer.

I don't really like the charity conversion idea of the price stabilization. I do agree that it would be good to make clear how and when the price stabilization is used. Maybe I would see more in just skipping the price stabilization, and moving the funds to the reserve, if it actually is to hard to determine when to use the funds.

Ok guys,

The charity fund idea sounds interesting but I think getting rid of the price stabilization would be a blow for Globe. Feel free to discuses this below I may change my mind  Wink .

The millionth Globe producer has been narrowed down . Thanks nerioseole.

The first person to confirm and prove they produced a block between 114515 and 114525 will get 1000 GLB.

See : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=470719.0 to claim.

Thanks
