Just for your notes, I've shared my stratum codebase with the OP of glb.poolerino.de (Freddy), they/he should now be able to fix their pool and run their own node fully functional very soon.

Its very important to SHARE miners between MULTIPLE pools to prevent 51% attacks, get the hashrate distributed and circumvent DDoS Attacks.

poolerino looks like as if its running now . Smiley

Very good, two very good pools in the GLB network Smiley

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Pool runs good, server looks good also.

You can donate here:

1AZPVWSBuyWwYtMhpCrHTeMiAK7StGKuZt

thx !

I wanted to donate using a percentage of mined GLB, but in "Edit account page" I got:

"Failed to update your account: Unable to connect to RPC server for coin address validation"

when I tried to update the donation percentage.

I haven't yet a wallet and an address for transactions, is this the problem ?

Yes you need to enter a valid address, otherwise you cant change the settings.

I will fix that soon, in the meanwhile simply generate and enter a adress you want your payouts to go to

TY so much, it works !!!!

I have another question (sorry I'm very new in cryptocurrencies): in .conf file should I put exactly what follows:

rpcuser=USER
rpcpassword=PASS
...

or must I change the two strings "USER" and "PASS" with something else ?

TY for your patience.

Hello,

I believe that over 95 000 coins have been generated as "tax" so far (31746 blocks x 3).  At a going exchange rate of 0.0002 BTC/GLB, this would represents over $10 000 in value.

The topic top page mentions that:

"6.   In an attempt to be truly transparent monthly reports displaying tax collected, reserve levels and state of price stabilization mechanism  will be provided."

Any news on where we could look at those "transparent" numbers?  Openness is key, and demonstrating it should be done very, very soon - don't you think?

Hi,

Thanks for asking questions and being interested Smiley . 31746 blocks x 3 is not correct we do not collect 30% we collect 20% so 31746 blocks x 2. Yes I truly believe in transparency and hope to get a report out at the end of this month or maybe on the 1st day of January. Doing the report at the end or the month of 1st seems much more logical then doing it on a random date e.g. 26th .

I hope to make the report in a nice excel spreadsheet. The Following data will be displayed.

1. Total Tax collected

2. Total amount of Globes gone to the Dev-team

3. Total amount of Globes gone into the Reserve / Price stabilization mechanism

4. How much of the Globes in the Reserve / Price stabilization mechanism have been converted into Bitcoins

5. The number of Bitcoins and Litecoins is Globe backed by

If you have any recommendations or any more questions feel free to post.

I don't quite understand:

In addition, which mechanism will be put in place to prevent that one of the "anonymous" development team member runs away "accidentally" with the "tax" jackpot?

If you referring to automation of the price stabilization mechanism. This can only be done when an exchange with a API accepts Globe. Once an exchange accepts Globe it is easy to use the API to build a price stabilization mechanism.

Please clarify if I have miss-understood your question.

My mistake, you are correct, 20%.  BTW, I really love the concept of price stabilization, dev team funding, and marketing budget - I believe that it is the only way forward for the crypto-currency world in general.

But, having said that, my question is related to credibility and accountability of the GLB system.  "Who" will control and pull the trigger each time a price stabilization intervention is required, and who will control the remaining tax pot and decide where and when to distribute the coins.  Anonymous team members, by definition, can't provide this accountability and credibility concept, which I believe, is necessary for the coin to succeed.  We will have to stop hiding behind our coin addresses, or forum pseudo names, if we want people with real money to invest in those coins and to use them.  In exchange for those work positions, salaries could be agreed upon by the GLB community for the person accountable for those mechanism and the safekeeping of the "tax" pot, and for maintaining the coin (dev team).   In the past, the crypto community has seen so many originally well-intentioned operators run away with coins, without leaving a forwarding address (50BTC.com, as prime example) - that has to stop.  And, one of the only way to do it, in my opinion, is to come out on the open from the beginning.

Ok, I will try and address all part of your question. Please tell me if I miss something their seems to be alot  Cheesy.

1. By the time their is enough depth in the Globe market a exchange will take it on. You can see Globe has had the same price for a while now. The price stabilization mechanism will be fully automated using the API. Most exchange APIs allow you to place trades when the GLB market price has XYZ conditions e.g. 20% decline in 24 hours we can automatically tell the exchange to place a trade for us using the API.

2. I hope to run the 10% dev team section more like a profitable business rather than foundation or non-profit as I believe these tend to be very inefficient and cumbersome. ( Yes im a good old capitalist Smiley )

3. Over the long run I hope to de-centralize further, take more control away from us when it comes to the price stabilization and reserves and give it to the network. How much of this can be done and how this will be done in the future is still a question to be answered.

4. Once an exchange takes on Globe the entire process of reserves and price stabilization will be automated and essentially un-touchable by the dev team as the a nice scripts and servers will handle all the trades.

5. Regarding your question about accountability. The entire Bitcoin community is anonymous but that I what I love about it. Regardless of anything If you can prove you can be trusted and have a good idea your project can press forward. I always make sure what I am doing is morally correct before proceeding with a task or exchange to prove that I am trustworthy.

The point you made when you said we must stop hiding under our pseudo names if we want people with money to invest is an arguable point. I agree some people may be put off by investing in coins if individuals are not accountable but lets not forget that we still do not know who created Bitcoin and he/she/they too used a psudo name but still the price managed to hit $1000 a piece. I agree that with Globe it is slightly different in that we have more control but as I stated above if we can de-centralize to the point where price stabilization and reserves are controlled by the network, Globe becomes just like Bitcoin.

Additionally, consistent trust can be built regardless of your face or name. This has already been proven in the Bitcoin community. Many people risk huge sums of money by using users on the forum as an escrow service. These individuals names, identities are not known but their consistent trustworthiness has meant they can reliably hold huge sums of money and handle transactions on behalf on individuals.

Finally, It would be foolish for a member of the dev team to "run away" with all the money. As I stated before such an event would cause a huge price crash. So the XXX Globes that individual stole would be worthless due to his actions. You can see how this causes a paradox making it logically pointless to scam people.

I created one topic on cryptocointalk.

Hope more people will get to know the existence of GLB and the excellent pool.

Check the threads here.

https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/2433-glb-low-difficulty-chance-for-everyone/

By the way, @sphere, are you going to create a thread on the cryptocointalk to offer a GIVEAWAY there? The structure of the forum is better there. :-)
