Wow, nice to see some support and I appreciate your comments. I think the biggest problem was using SHA-256 rather than a GPU/CPU based algo. We where at a very low hash rate for the first few months. Like 4k diff for very long. It meant that individuals using ASICs could really hoard a lot of GLB. When people started discovering GLB and the price rose all those holding and having mined GLB unloaded on the buyers. This I believe contributed heavily to the huge GLB price fall. I still think this issue exists I mean look at the distribution graph, the top ten own nearly 50% of GLB, this excludes any taxes we have. Given the current distribution of coins I think any attempt by us to revive GLB will just result in individuals with ASICS dumping their GLB on buyers. This of-course would not have been a problem with an Quark , X11, Sha-3 algo , as the distribution of wealth I assume would be much wider. I know you miners on your cool ASICs will disagree but with this experience I think only established coins will survive with ASICS mining them. In my opinion, every single coins out there (Bitcoins including) is at risk of having someone with great amount dumping it on the exchange, since there are lots of people who bought or mine them at cheaper price or at very low diff but most important thing is that what keeping them from NOT dumping all their coins, it is the believe in that particular coin. I don't think having GLOBE with SHA-256 is anyway different than a GPU/CPU based algo. Since in every algo Quark, X11, Sha-3 there would always be someone or a group of people with great amount of power willing to go mine and 'hoard' a lot of coins anyway, but most important thing to remember is that most if not all of those miner in any algo will most likely only mine profitable coins, only in an exception of mining the coins they believed in. Mining GLOBE nowadays would only give you profit at about half of mining Bitcoin. But yet people (including me) still mining GLOBE with believe. To relaunch Globe, having miners and current holders of GLB to loose all their coins will not only kill the coin but also kill the believe. Bitcoins and Litecoins are very successful just because people believe in them, but I since very long time, I am believe in Globe, and I hope you are too.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Hi everyone, great to see some postings here, especially the developer sphere and pnoch. I also believe in this coin. The network is healthy, the name is great, etc. I certainly don't believe relaunching the coin and being ASIC resistant will make a difference at all. In fact I believe that marketing this as an ASIC coin can be beneficial! e.g. Don't forget there are lots of 'older' ASIC mining equipment out there which can still be used to mine Globe. I think the key will be to attract those miners. I'm one of them. It doesn't make any sense for me with my older Ant Miners to go and mine something other than Globe. Look at the POS (Proof of Stake) coins on http://coinmarketcap.com/. ALL of them increase in value? Why? It's worthwhile to hold on to them rather than dumping. Let's see if we can update the current wallet to have this functionality!!! I'm not 'coin technical', so I don't know the implications, e.g. can POS mining with the wallet be done in conjunction with ASICS? If yes, then let's go for it. How much will it cost? Let's talk about cost. I'm always looking for ways I can invest in new ventures.

I'm trying to look for solution myself too while main dev is not in.
good news -it seems that all the nodes and pools are on the same block height so very unlikely of blockchain being fork somewhere -multiple coins I've found faced the same problem and were able to fix without much afford -nobody could have profit from this
bad news -we're stuck! = no new transaction possible until this problem is fix

My wallet is in sync. What exactly is the problem?

But I'm not sure what might have cause it. Difficulty chart http://coinz.cryptoid.info/diff/?glb also shows wild swings in difficulty, and there was massive changes in the number of transactions recently. Looks like some pool jumping in an out and messing things up.

Could it be that someone is trying to bring GLB down with some kind of attacks? Timewarp or something like that? I just put 1t single mining it but no new block is found! Im searching hi and lo for solution but cant find anything yet. Could it be that some bad node is doing this? Now GLB is super cheap with super high dif

someone should create altcoingraveyard... I will bring some flowers to it... I had great expectations. I was aware sphere was not succesful with his first coin (spherecoin) and it was the main disclaimer for the future of this coin. But I gave it a chance.

No, I think there is just barely anyone mining it. When it is out of sync, and I start mining it for some time again, I do generate blocks. The problem is I only have like 10Gh at the moment that I can use for GLB, so it is very slow, and once in a while people with high hashrates start mining again, which is what keeps the difficulty high.

I'm trying to fix up GLB, added Kimoto Gravity Well and clean up some messy code (still plenty to do)
I just successfully build osx wallet with new code but I'm still finding a way to have it fork to new algo.
Will try to post the link soon.

Cool, we arrived on level where the coin is eliminated from last one and only exchange. In last few months you done really good job sphere - no updates, nothing from that what you had written down here. Even pools also mostly dead for the last two months.

The coin died when sphere scrapped the plans for the tax and just sat on it. I dumped a long time ago myself.
